This was actually a minor hit back in the day in Canada. Canada in the 90s. With hits in English, French, Gaelic, Spanish, Inuktitut and German. Plus Instrumentals with a Fiddle as well as Fiddles and Step Dancing. I miss Canadian Content rules opening people up to amazing stuff.

KSU Folk Festival about '96. He just won the Cape Breton title. He could dance and fiddle at the same time. No one here had ever seen THAT ! it was incredible. A year later he dressed differently and had a world hit. And ask him about that night at Kent when he heard a uillean piper and some bongo players. I like to think it inspired this tune.

@uglybuckling He got into it way too young. He was touring and getting exposed to stuff when he was a kid, and never learned to approach it as an adult. He's doing alright now though, at least he's still got some mad talent. :)

I would hate to be in an elevator with them as they play because they would probably trigger a modern elevator to shut down as it would confuse the elevator into thinking a seismic event had occurred. An old elevator is even worse because you would have the sounds of the elevator creaking along with the beat of the music.

Genius has its own modes of expression, and although it's not really an excuse for his "erratic behaviour" as you correctly termed it, I think the reason his songs were amazing and the reason his behaviour was...um...erratic might have something to do with one another. Still, it's worth noting that many American rock stars have far less talent and behave far worse and get away with it.
