actually you are right now that I think about it. if you fall faster than the raindrops are falling down, the effect would seem its going opposite direction, I think he didn't think much about that one ,because rarely the games pay attention to such detail therefore effect was foreign to him lol

@@Warmenlt It's not the rain "falling up" thats the problem. It's how the rain physically does a 180 and then starts falling up.

There are supposed to be changes to the node that are driven by player activity. I am thinking, that, what if, while leading up to the final change, there are about eight distinct minor changes that accrue as other events happen for example, what, if taking down the population of enemies, and a node creates some flourishing of something that is good, like the trees begin to flower. And then, at the same time, there is another series of quests that caused the stars to glow brighter, or for there to be more stars, visible. Players could begin to notice is subtle changes bit by bit, and all of these signs would build up to create a final. Event. To make the system even more in depth, while each node has a unique destiny, certain nodes in certain areas, or with certain attributes, could share some of the minor signs that lead up to any one event. So that while one zone is going to have a celestial mountain up here, and another zone is simply going to have some new gemstones or animals pop-up. Both zones would have the trees flowering as one of the minor events. And this creates region wide dynamics, while still allow, allowing node specific development.

Valheim's soundtrack playing in the background? this game connected to it?

Q3 2024 it will be playable (Alpha 2) and I'm assuming they'll give access to big streamers at some point during it, assuming those streamers haven't already bought in.

The problem I see with these type of games, where "community" is the focus, is that in general it does not work out properly. There need to be something else that drives it. The average player usually play solo or with 2-5 friends. It is highly unlikely that a proper community play would occure in a organic way, specially if there is no people driving it forward. I do hope that is something that they consider. Now Im not saying that there is no such play, but what we have seen is gameplay from people who work at the studio, together, to bring forth this game, so they obviously get blinded by their ambition to show off how they want the game to be, but as I said, in reality it usually never goes that way and it would kill a game that would be amazing. This can be remedied by having them actually take in the player base and form what doesnt work, into something that will work. Sure, this is why the alpha and beta tests are important, I just hope they take feedback to heart, without taking in to many things. Make sure to do polls to see what the majority of the player base feels, check out different major players in the gaming industry for thoughts, ideas, opinions. Do surveys sent out to the average player who is interested in the game. I think if they check all these angles and adjust the mirrors, it will be a hard hitting game that will last for a while.

They announced in the livestream that they are planning on an update to the lighting soon. I'm looking forward to seeing this change.

In regards to the lightning, it should stay as is. If I'm casting a fireball or any spell right at the proximity of myself, I'd expect to take damage from it.

i would assume the nodes take a great deal of effort to level up from ALL players. so console commands have to be used to make the transition happen when wanted.

Man, i was overcome with nostalgia about Archeage so i looked up how that corpse of a game was doing after such a long time and i heard someone had made, or was making a game based on it except not determined to kill it's own playerbase. Who whould have thought this was relevant news at all?

I understand the need to get it in players hands but the key is to have enough presentable systems for the alpha 2 test. It's good that for the live streams, they are allowing player input, and if you've been following those live streams and providing feedback kudos to you. But seeing how the alpha 1 test was when we didn't really have any systems to test they must get as much of the core systems finished before bringing on the alpha 2. Also, we've seen so many mmorpgs over the last few years release early and end up closing down before the game even had a chance to be anything. If they rush a release and many of the systems aren't in place it will ruin it also mmorpgs get 1 chance for a successful release. Because if they fail no one will return to the game or the ones that do is minimal. They don't have competition for mmorpg's cause nothing is releasing shortly that is a triple-A title that you can even remotely say can compare. We have a lot of other mmo's that are "possible" but we have yet to even see systems or whether the game is pay-to-win or not. Wow wasn't a top-tier title when it first came out and we mustn't end up with a rushed ruined ashes of creation. We have 1 shot for a good mmorpg and that's ashes of creation anything else is going to need at least 7 years of development to come close.

Looks like it took a lot of elements from GW2, and its a great idea to see those super fun dynamic events modernized.

@@sebiisgaming It looks like GW2 but doesnt have the depth of GW2 combat, which makes sense since one is new and old has years of adaption, but it will likely fall into the same problem of GW2, Meta events are great spectacles and all, but hot damn doing them over and over is boring as fuck, which is why i find most core GW2 players end up in WvW instead where things are samey but can by more dynamic because of Players.

6:10 It would be bullshit if the thunderbolts also didn't hurt the mobs that summoned it. Like, if the spell can instantly kill the player, there should be a drawback to the monster invoking it too. Maybe they could make the mobs try to dodge the lightning bolts too.

Alpha 1 this year maybe beta2 next year than im guessing beta 1 prob next or 2. After beta 2 since most beta are usually close too game release but who knows aoc has made some insane progress over the last 2. Years ill be buying the beta1/2 keys for sure

Beta soon? naw man, wrong, it'll be 2 years until Beta.... That's me being optimistic, knowing A2 starts in Sept/Oct. after playing in A1. BUT I will also say that the game will be playable by everyone before 2030.

12:50 TFT devs make almost a new game every few months. They keep adding accessibility, but simultaneously add complexity. Unfortunately one season, they decided it was about as complex as they'd ever want to make it. Skill floor will just get closer and closer to the ceiling. Top 30% players are close to as good as top 1% was a few seasons ago.

Steven has money yes but he doesnt have billions lying around. it seems to most majority of the frame work is done nows its just filling in all the gaps. i go 2-3 years max till done

I am new in Retail wow and wow in general the biggest problem is, that that game giving no sense for a new player...its just randomly putting you in the event you have no clue and which happened maybe 10 years ago?....is hard to make one World lore...and start at point one and ends on the new content? to give some sense to that game? Like FFXIV does with lore?

The main problem of Retail WoW for new players is not its complexity, it's the total disregard for the player experience story-wise. Imagine a room temperature iq andy who just wants a fun game -- because no one in their right mind will spend 150 hours reading lore before trying the game, that's the new player you will want to introduce to the game and make pay subscription. The last time I touched Warcraft was when Arthas became a Death Knight, and I didn't even finish that game. So, I installed Retail, completed the tutorial on the Mage becase other classes were locked, then switched to Demon Hunter because it looks badass (and I wanted to play melee). The game threw me right into battle, showed me allied Illidari - I don't understand what we're fighting for yet (I assumed they will tell me later since I'm kinda joining in the middle of the story), but it's a fantastic way to make me engaged, so I was hooked. The prologue ended with us losing the battle (even a better hook), then I watched a decent cinematic about Illidari, then there was a jailbreak quest. And as I prepared for the story to continue, the game threw me into some BFA bullshit, straight up disregarded the previous story line and started a new one (again from the fucking middle). I then switched back to Mage, hoping for a more cohesive introduction, but the game sent me into some jungles to grind copy-pasted quests, and then my engagement with the game was lost completely. What I was sold: here's a cool character, here's some of the backstory so you're not completely lost, here's the prologue and we will guide you through the plot until you get accustomed to the gameplay. What I got: here's 3 random main story quests from the different fucking expansions, good luck figuring out what the fuck you're doing. I'm struggling to see how a new player would be emotionally invested in the game and stay until the sunk cost fallacy kicks in, with this kind of introduction. WoW as an MMO is a failure and I didn't even get to Sylvannas cuckoldry to mald over the feelings.

I think people have the false perception at this point that Alpha 2 = finished game.

What I'm really looking for in this game is PVP scenarios. That's the only thing that'll keep me playing. Proper objective-based battlegrounds like in Mordhau or Chivalry where you have goals to achieve, but can also hinder the enemy in achieving theirs.

damn 7 years for Alpha 2 this game will be playable guys trust me im a physician cant wait for the "guys look here's the thing we tried for 10 years and the game isnt ready we're shutting down"

Even if the game releases at some point, there is too much hype and it just looks so bland.

Regarding rain going upwards: if you would be in a freefall in real life your speed eventually would be faster than speed of rain falling down therefore relatively to your position rain would fall upwards. Guys does it make sense or am I delusional?

Alpha 2 is going to last for a long period though, will be like playing an early access version of the game

Alpha 2 and beta 1 and 2 are still nderway, so the devs can and will change things before release

I really appreciate the talk about games being accessible to new players. It's really not about making it easy or hard, but whether naturally progressing within the game itself teaches you or not what you need to know to keep progressing further. I find extremely annoying getting into a game only to find out I need to watch hours of youtube videos besides playing the game to reach the minimum level of competency required. If I wanted to watch videos I'd be doing that, not launching a videogame.
