Ashanti and Nelly are expecting their first baby together! On Wednesday, the 43-year-old revealed she is pregnant with her and Nelly’s first child and confirmed to Essence that they are engaged! The singer shared the baby news in an Instagram video, putting to rest months of fan speculation about whether she and her rapper beau are expanding their family. The clip shows the singer backstage preparing for a performance as her entourage asks how much longer she needs to get ready. "I'm gonna need about nine months," Ashanti responds. Ashanti tagged the hip-hop star in the post and teased fans further with a playful caption, writing, "Baby baby baby baby" alongside heart and laughing emojis. This will be the singer's first baby. Nelly is father to two grown children from a previous relationship and he also adopted his late sister's kids after she passed away from leukemia in 2005.

I think it’s wonderful I love them both so much together they’re two beautiful people whose perfect together it seems like they have so much in common I know their love is unbreakable they have only loved each other from the beginning becoming mature adults is what has changed in their lives allowing them to know not doubt their love for each other that’s great. I hope their first baby is a girl if Ashanti has another baby I hope she’ll have another girl she & Nelly are going to be two excellent parents who love their children and each other.
