She's beautiful, talented etc." Kind of unusual he didn't or at least didn't clarify this later in another video or even a tweet especially given how much noise this making. Maybe he corrected himself to her in private, but still it's weird he didn't publicly kill this story by saying he's a catch and attractive. If she doesn't want to be bothered by it, she should avoid the internet and comment's section. Also she doesn't need to divorce him based off this one incident. If she is happy with him, that's her choice.

There’s self confidence and then there’s ego…. his comment was 1000% EGO. When someone says your wife is a catch and your response is “I’M the catch”, that ABSOLUTELY is denying she’s a catch, she’s delusional if she isn’t aware of that. There’s some kind of disconnect with reality, like she is completely unaware of what a good man actually is or has had horrible male role models in her life or maybe lacks self confidence in herself and is therefore willing to accept that kind of treatment… regardless, that was not okay. And he was not joking either. I’m not saying divorce him, it’s her life, and her choice, but their relationship seems to involve a little bit of emotional abuse imo, with the way she’s defending him and completely blind to what he did wrong.

He never denied that she’s a catch. He was asked “How did you pull her?” That insinuates that he pursued her, which they both acknowledge is not the case. She pursued him. I don’t hear anything that he said as disrespectful. In fact, the question he was asked was a bit disrespectful because it suggested that he is below her and inherently is unworthy of mutuality in within the relationship. I think people projected their own hang ups onto this couple. If he didn’t know who Simone Biles was, then so be it. Many people complaining probably couldn’t name their U.S. representative or their senator. Plenty people don’t know about someone who others see as exceptionally influential and significant. At the end of the day, we are all people. Being the husband or wife doesn’t suddenly make you more worthy of defense or less worthy of being pursued. A good man knows the worth of those he loves but he also knows his own worth as well.

This isn’t about him knowing his worth, it’s about him allowing others to acknowledge HIS WIFES worth, without undermining that acknowledgment by diverting it to himself & boasting about his own worth. A GOOD man, doesn’t feel the need to steal his wife’s thunder, on the contrary a GOOD man basks in the pride of having a wife worth praising.

Let’s not judge her too harshly and I agree with the sentiments. She’s very naive. She’s been focused on her career for ALL HER LIFE and rarely dated. I thought so too but I guess when you choose a man based off looks it can go this way. She adores him and that will work until children come along. Then the dynamics must change. I've been married for 24 years. Listen, she's not leaving him. She believes in what he said, and he believes in what he said. She doesn't want to see the truth. Ignorance is bliss. A month before my husband died of a heart attack, he admitted to numerous affairs and pleaded for me to forgive him. He met his maker, knowing that I forgave him, and I thanked him for telling me the truth. Time will tell. Until then, enjoy the bliss.

What did you gain from knowing?

I still don’t think she understands why people are upset and never quite acknowledges directly the concerns which is why no one really has had their mind changed. To be fair I think he’s probably not a bad person, he might be a bit insecure, but I assume his real life actions don’t match some of what he said or at least how he came across isn’t what he meant. But you still aren’t going to sway anyone by just saying we are all mean and he’s so sweet. You have to acknowledge what he said.

Yeah he said silly stuff however, I’m sure people are jealous . He is light on the eyes and he married her. A lot of women are just not able to get a man like that to marry them. Usually these dudes just play the field. Simone made a commitment and that is awesome. So many ladies have amazing baby showers instead of having a wedding first. It’s so weird.
