Kingler sweeping the opponent's team in ash's first league battle has a special place in my heart. If he comes back with gmax thatd be best day of my life.

I hope that each battle of the Master's 8 gets it full attention, not just the Ash focused ones. These are the top trainers in the world and I don't want anyone to get short changed, have each battle be at least the full focus of 1 to 2 episodes!

I agree But it isnt unrealistic either to show each battle of 6vs6 (Hopefully) and that would only take like 1-2 episode per battle and we have total battles of 7 So 7*2(episode) = 14 First round = 4 battles Semi finals = 2 battles Final = 1 battle So, it will be around 14 episodes for the whole masters 8 tournament Hopefully which doesnt sound that complicated to make, seriously..

Alain is not a top trainer. There rest are perfect but i feel in that top 8 should be our most beloved anime champion Tobias. At this point he should be able to be there as the sinnoh champion with a full legendary team

@@neehime6 I completely agree with you on that! But i feel he was just a plot armor for Ash not to win the sinnoh league. However it could be very interesting to see him as the final opponent for the world champion. Like the best trainer in the world. I feel like he could stomp any trainer at this point easily other than the champions of course. So after Leons defeat to Ash, Tobias could be announced as the world champion and not a monarch such as Ash. Then of course after the finals in the masters 8 Ash would go up against Tobias once again to become the strongest trainer in the world. Somehow i feel Ash will get more than Leon to get to be strongest in the world. Otherwise Tobias will be back to in some other way, maybe to redeem himself and take the status of being the best in the world by beating all the masters 8 and Ash of course or in some other case.

If Ash does get the chance to go against Alain again then hopefully it'll be in Kalos, however when Ash is about to bring out his final pokemon Greninja drops down into the arena like when Tapu Koko unexpectedly showed up to join kukui to face off against Ash

I like the picks, but honestly I'd love to see Sceptile back as well (replace Snorlax maybe) I feel like people are SEVERELY underrating Ash's Sceptile. He was born as a fighter as well. Hoping he gets some action.

I'd replace infernape with sceptile. While infernape is just as awesome as Charizard, you already have a fire type in Charizard and a fighting type in Lucario. And even if it's not sceptile, there's still Dragonite

@@jonathanorendain9605 Wait hold up. So Charizard beating an Articuno isn’t good enough? Or beating literally HALF of Gary’s team? And now with Charizards training he pretty easily handled Irises Dragonite. Now, Charizard is easily an extremely powerful Pokémon. He’s ash’s 2nd or 3rd best. Sceptile on the other hand isn’t that impressive. Yes he did one shot Darkrai that many claim to have been on full hp. But Darkrai was hit by a STAB guts boosted megahorn by Heracross. Sceptile certainly is a strong Pokémon. But he shouldn’t have a spot on Ash’s ultimate team. 100 percent top 10 tho.

@@Zedumbass24 sceptile is actually VERY impressive. Prior to landing the leaf blade, Darkrai had landed two dream eaters, one of them one shotting heracross and the other on sceptile. Sceptile tanked a point blank ice beam from Darkrai and then dream but still had the energy left to take him down. Then right after, he was seen contesting luster purge with lead blade for a second before getting knocked out. His performance in the sinnoh league was extremely impressive.

I think that team would be nearly unbeatable, although I think they would unfortunately strip Snorlax of six moves

Greninja's comeback in Journeys proves how strong he's become. He made Lucario look like a joke in his base form so just imagine how strong Ash-Greninja would be now. We can only hope that Ash has a rematch with Alain in the Masters 8. Lucario also receiving a massive boost in power after the training with Greninja was awesome so there's no doubt that the dream team would consist of those 2, Charizard, Infernape, and Pikachu. The last pick could be anyone like you said. It could be Snorlax, Lycanrock, Sceptile, Krookodile, but another good pick in my opinion is Gengar. He's a fan favorite, Ash's only ghost type to my knowledge, and he has the ability to Gigantimax. Can't forget about that moveset as well.

I think it should include Sceptile , but I think like the original indigo league, there should be more than 6 featured at the end with different highlight pokemon , giga gengar should get it's moment

if I had to choose ash's ultimate team it would consist of 1: Pikachu, 2: sceptile, 3: infernape, 4: greninja, 5: lucario and 6: charizard not only because of the type advantages but also because they all have a variety of attack moves that they can use at any given situation

I would change out his infernape and for no particular reason for Dragonite. Having a sudo legendary and dragon type would be pretty useful. with that team he already has both a fire and fighting. Not that infernape is worse he’s probably better I just think Dragonite may be a little more tanky

Imagine this team coming into the Master's 8... Oh and yeah, the training episode for Lucario was so sick, and his power levels are ridiculously high right now.

All I'm gonna say about the Masters 8 is this: If Ash sticks to ONLY his Journeys team and manages to defeat all of his opponents including Leon then I'm done... After watching the anime since the beginning, I've seen Ash and other trainers win battles they had no business winning. I mean it comes with the territory given the anime doesn't have the same battle logic/mechanics as the games (unless the plot wants it to). However, when you are up against CHAMPIONS! Let me say it again; CHAAAMMMMPPPPPPPIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSS! Who have battle hardened Pokemon on their squad going up against a kid with Pokemon FAR LESS EXPERIENCED pulling out B.S. victories via plot armor then it isn't cool it's a slap in the face for OG fans of the series who WANT to see Ash make it to the top but not like that. Ash better bring back his reserves from Oak's lab and Alola or something because I don't wanna see crap like Cynthia's Garchomp getting knocked out by ONE attack that it doesn't take damage from like Pikachu's electric moves (seriously, we saw Volkner's Electivire go down despite its ability cancelling out electric moves!) or Leon's Charizard going down from ONE Water Gun from Ash's fish fossil... Make these Masters 8 matches some of the BEST we've ever seen from the anime! It could be the thing that saves Journeys for me and a lot of fans!

He should be switching things, I suppose. After all, Journeys has shown the trend of going back to the things from the past. I don't believe he would switch out all of his Sw/Sh mons. Maybe one or two of them per battle.

I think it's all going to depend on the story. I'd love to see old Pokemon return if done right, but at the same time, I'm worried that the journeys team won't get proper closure if too many Pokemon come back beyond the aces

I think you are right about the given easiness to Ash in this tournament. But you are not right about Pikachu V Electivire battle. While watching this anime, you shouldn't think about the game. Cause, game has restrictions that doesn't specify the limits and makes the game not fun. Like the ability of Electivire. Think about, if a electric type legendary pokemon attacking to Electivire with all its power. Will this passive stop the attack still ? What is the limit of electricity that Electivire can absorb ? We just don't know, cause the game doesn't specify that. Still, for a passive, there should be a limit. Cause, its not a type change like Silvally does. It's only a passive shield. Game's Pokemon world and Anime's Pokemon world is not related to each other. Anime's world is limitless. That's why we are seeing use of double moves, attacks that are even not a move and much more.. I think you are also not right about plot armor. In this Journeys series, its not working as plot armor, but, most of the Ash's opponents are weak than its supposed to be. They should just give Ash a proper mind that he can use all of his previous pokemon and mix them with his current team. Also, they should make his opponents more interesting while battling. That's just my oppinion.

I personally just like how this tournament has the champions from each region competing. It definitely makes things more imteresting. We'll definitely see Ash beat some of them too and when that happens the smiles on all our faces as fans are gonna be stupidly big feeling nothing but pride for our boy

Tbh some of his mons are literally a must Pikachu infernape greninja and charizard are great examples since those 4 had pretty much the biggest impact on the storylines And dude infernape already rivalise charizard in terms of power Gary said that infernape left the lab looking for a stronger fire type than those infernape battled in the lab

Gliscor or Donphan or Heracross aren't Ash's best Pokemon, but I'd love to see them come back, I always loved them. It'd bee even sicker though if Ash got Pigeot, Butterfree, & Primeape back for the final fight and they killed it. I think I'd have a seizure from the excitement if that happened.

Nah, Snorlax is great. And of its 3 losses, one was to total hax by Harrison's Houndoom using counter. I'd rather swap out Infernape for Sceptile. Sceptile deserves a spot for beating Darkrai.

Snorlax is actually better. Not dissing Sceptile since it beat Tobias's Darkrai. But Snorlax was one of Ash's major tanks before Goodra and Dragonite. I mean, it helped him deal with Claire's Dragonite, as well as most of Gary's team

I'd love to include Primape in there if it has non-stopped trained with that coach guy. Competing in fighting tournaments and just an all round beast. But I do agree with you on this team. He should swap out some of those mons for who he is battling. Galile for the dragon users.

Now that Ash is in the master 8 I think it's about time that he should swapped his recent Pokemon on his team (Dragonite, Gengar, Lucario, Sirfetch and Dracovish) for his unevolved Pokemon left at Professor Oak's lab like Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Totodile, Corphish, Buziel, Gible, Snivy, Oshawott, Scraggy, and Rowlet(get rid of the everstone) to evolved at last just like Bayleef, Quilava, Pignite, Boldore, Paplitoad even though they should evolved to their final evolved form too. Because they deserved another chanced to evolved in the series since some of them didn't get that chance in the original Pokemon, Orange Island, Johto, Advanced, Diamond and Pearl, Black and White, XY and Sun and Moon Arc. Plus if Ash is planning to face Leon in the future episodes than he'll going to need build up his Pokemon team by going back to train his old Pokemon. Another reason why Ash should go back to train his old Pokemon because through Pokemon Black and White, XY, Sun and Moon and so far in Journey Series Ash never recall them back to his team when he first got ready to compete in the Unova, Kalos and Alola League. There is one time that he once did before back in Pokemon DP Sinnoh League Victors were Ash finally decided to recall some of his Pokemon and at the same episode his Cyndaquil finally evolved into Quilava which was the best part of that episode. If Ash ever do that again in the upcoming Pokemon Journey episodes I would like him to recall his Bayleaf, Quilava, Totodile, Gible and Pignite because it's about time they have finally evolved at last.

If ash doesn't recall old pokemon he's really missing out. If we get lucky enough to see exhibition matches between all of them, it would be nice to see ash use his regional teams against each contender

For me, Ash's best team would be: Pikachu, Greninja, Infernape, Sceptile, Lucario, Charizard/Dragonite. But I would also love to see Ash use all mechanics in the Final Battle with Leon: Mega Evolution: Lucario Bond Phenomenon: Greninja GMax: Gengar Z Move: Pikachu That would be awesome!

it's one mechanic per battle , Z Pikachu should be the one vs Leon imo , Greninja vs Alain needs to happen but Mega Lucario would be nice too , it'd be cool if battle bond wasn't restricted so Greninja & Lucario could both feature there & Greninja + Pikachu could take on Leon I want to see Charizard / Gengar / Pikachu vs Lance if that one happens

For Greninja, in addition to replacing cut with night slash I would also maybe trade aerial ace for acrobatics or maybe even ice beam

I really hope the writers respect infernape and Charizard. I hope either one of them get the final KO on Leon. I would give anything to see them in a double battle together

We haven't seen his Gengar in action that much, at his peak potential it would be fun to see him toy with his opponents using his phasing ability and his to be revealed unique movements.

Ash's Gengar was missing. He is extremely strong and has a very diverse move pool.

This is indeed an Ultimate team for the definition of ultimate with these all-star aces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pikachu, Greninja, Charizard, Infernape, Snorlax, and Lucario are definite top OP without a doubt party members in this ranked lineup!!!! And as for auxiliary members go: Sceptile and Krookodile are the definite only choices of all you really need for backup members for this team considering how OP these two were and most probably still are with ash and are all his aces from their regions!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm sorry to lycanroc and dragonite, but you two fall in comparison to Sceptile & Krookodile considering their true fighting strength, history, and backstory development)

It's just that Sceptile & Krookodile (besides their competitive fighting prowess) have just more such character strength & built-up development that we got to know/learn, as well as love-and-respect from their early beginnings to their ends with such Stoic-Focus & Significance than with lycanroc or dragonite

Absolutely love the team. Honestly I think we will see ash use all his strongest pokemon throughout the tournament. One that was not mentioned but is probably the 7th man in this case LOL. Sceptile! One of the most heartwrenching stories in pokemon i remember with him evolving from grovyle into sceptile out of heartbreak. And eventually going on to be the only one of Ash's pokemon to take down one of Tobias' pokemon and still be standing. Sceptile fighting through sleep and leaf blading Dark rai to death was probably my favorite moment in any fight. I honestly thought Ash was going to get swept. Great video and Love the team. If i had to mention some of the other pokemon he will probably use it would be Sir fetch (Knight is a legend), Gengar, Dragonite, Talonflame, Krookodile, Melmetal, and personally, I want to see either primeape comeback, or squirtle as an awesome Wartortle.

Ash Ultimate team: Pikachu Dragonite Gengar Lucario SirFetch’d Dracovish Making a team that we got attached to in these past 3 years who did the hard work going up 10,000+ spots and got Ash to the 8th ranked trainer and throw it away for what a quick nostalgic trip. What do any of Ash’s former mons need? Redemption? For what?! Charizard wouldn’t get redeemed here. No Blazikens around. Maybe he fight the one who couldn’t eat the Torchic snack. If he wasn’t a dick in Kanto he could have so far. Infernape? He beat Paul and Electivire. He’s at peace. He just trying to find that Moltres. Sceptile: Tobias and his Latios? I don’t even think a Latios was in this series. And given how much trouble Tobias caused I wouldn’t put him in either. Snorlax wasn’t to eager help train. He seems to enjoy the retirement of battling . Then there is Greninja and yes Alain and Charizard were there as the 6th seeded trainer but Leon made quick work of him. Which would give Greninja no redemption and also throws Kalos into a Second Armageddon. In the process. The team above pulled their weight in some way shape or form throughout this journey and tournament And because of the Training, the bonds, (a little plot armor) and trust this team has. Ash is now the number one trainer in the world. TL/DR: Stop throwing in Ash’s old Pokémon onto a team for Nostalgic reasons. It’s lousy writing. They had their chance to become champions.

I'd personally replace one of the fire types for Gengar. To keep it versatile

I would switch out Charizard for Sceptile. It rounds out Ash's team more, plus there's already 2 Charizards in the masters 8.

Yeah but ash's charizard is one of the major or main Pokémon he had, it's disrespectful not putting him on the lineup, Maybe hell unlock a new form remember there's alot of charizard forms in the Pokémon series

Honestly, hearing that some Pokémon might be done dirty for the others to shine is pretty worrying. Hopefully, if the team you suggested truly comes to past, I hope they all get some fair treatment. Btw, thank you for the video, Professor!

It's unfortunately very possible. I love the battle with Sawyer, for example, but Hawlucha came out pretty bad. Hopefully something like that wouldn't happen to Snorlax

That was a Great team and a Fun video! I'm also glad you gave us a small list of good runner-ups except I'd include Goodra. For Ash's strongest team, I'd personally trade out Infernape with either Krookadile. He'll make up for Infernape's speed and power and also has the versatility to overcome supereffective opponents.

A great flaw of your ultimate team is that 3 are weak to ground or fighting (Ground -> Infernape, Lucario and Pikachu, Fighting -> Snorlax, Lucario, Greninja)

Professor Silverfox, this is actually a pretty great team I can’t debate it. I’ll say this, as a personal preference I try not to have Pokémon of the same type unless dual type maybe. I would swap Charizard(though I love him over Infernape) for a grass type maybe. S perils or maybe Bulbasaur has finally evolved all the way up to Venasaur in his time away. Also, I am just now noticing you have a discord?!

Knowing Ash (or the writers) if there’s a 6v6, you can almost guarantee he’ll use his Journeys team

Definitely, but I'll at least be happy if he uses some of his old mons in the preliminary fights.

Basically all of ashs best aces. His best friend. And the lax. I like it. Only gripe is that we have doubled up on fire types but one is flying and the other is fighting so it kind of works.

lycanroc is one of the pokemons thats really underrated by the fandom, because its the one that made ash champion of alola. I don't say its the best pokemon ash have but he did the thing where other pokemons failed.

I do think Incineroar could be another contender for his ultimate team but having 3 fire types might be a bit much. Night slash would be a nice upgrade from cut for Greninja and feel Sceptile is potentially due for an upgrade in the move set department, with moves similar to Sawyer's Sceptile.

Swapping snorlax and Infornape with septiel and crocorock would give the team more coverage in typing and moves

This time is fire!!! Although I wish Lycanroc, Incineroar, Melmetal and Sceptile are rotated in for a few battles, and also that the tourney happens in a round robin format, to give these mons the chance to shine.

@@burkholder1992 Yeah, but it gets shafted in most battles, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was still the case. But I SOO LOVE Gender and want to see it for 1 more battle.

I'd love to see a video on Ash's current journeys team. As it's such a cool team. Megas, gigantamax and z moves and of course Dracovish.

I couldn't agree more. These 6 are Ash's most polished and powerful teammates, each having a unique power and skill that they could bring to a Master Team of 6. Even if there are repetitions to types and weaknesses, they have attributes that more than make up for it and cover other teammate weaknesses to make it not a serious issue. (E.g Lucario covers Charizard for it's 4x rock weakness whilst it can be covered by Infernape for it's weakness to fire etc.) Pikachu - The Z Crystal Carrier (Z Ring) Greninja - The Speedy Tactical Ninja (Bond Phenomenon) Snorlax - The Tank-y Titan (Bulk) Infernape - Blazing Bruiser (Blaze) Lucario - The Aura Wielder (Megastone) Charizard - The flying Inferno (Gigantamax)

I feel like literally all of his Alola team should've been honorable mentions as well. And maybe a few other Unova mons as well. I'm also pretty sure that Krookadile isn't his only good Unova Mon. Pignite, Leavanny, and Snivy come to mind

I think coverage would be great but Infernape is just too powerful to leave out imo. It rocked paul

Sadly none of the returning pokemon did not get the chance to battle

super happy that Infernape made it one of mt fav pokeomn

lucario is that main anime character that goes through a training montage and obtains strength it has no business having in a short period of time

I personally think this is his best TEAM with the other 4 mons being rotated nice job prof silver! But I do think that all of them shouldn't be in one team since they deserve moments of their own when as being in a team of all aces would rob most of them I personally think ash should use a few aces like sceptile ,infernape,greninja,charizard,krookodile since it's been a while we have seen them along with some journeys mon and also use some of his non ace reserves like incineroar, melmetal,donphan,straptor,e.t.c like a good balanced team which is strong too for example Sceptile,Infernape ,Dracovish,Melmetal,Donphan,Swellow

I kinda like that he has a main team and then substitutes, nice vid explained well and entertaining. For me my ash ultimate team would be: Infernape, Greninja, Sceptile, Pikachu, Mega Lucario, Lycanrock.

But he lacks battle experience I’ll e probably replace him with : Dragonite:has destroyed 90% of his enemies while taking major damage,only lost one battle Septile:a good sniper which will be used for finishing enemies

I mean he has to win 2 battles before the final I think he could bring back a team similar and they could all shine. You just have ash use different pokemon in each battle. Then the championship they all get a battle. Personally swap Snorlax for Dragonite or maybe sceptile.

Pikachu and Greninja are must haves. There's no doubt about it. Not sure about Charizard, he'll also more than likely be a must have but he's also returned several more times than most of Ash's other mons.
