Both have outstanding power, yet prefer tradition and representing cultures than efficiency in combat (tho still somewhat strong but not much) I'm pretty sure in the comics, it's the opposite, wakandans does show they used like laser guns unlike the spears in the movies that can shoots bolts (N'Jadaka said the vibranium spears has the power to stop a tank, but in infinity wars they did less damage against the outriders. I assume they acted like AP rounds like a 9mm through a thin sheet of aluminium, efficient against vehicles but not as much damage to flesh)

I'm pretty sure they have none of that for mass production thou and they can't replicate any of it. Asgard has super OP people, true. They do have science, thats true too. But they are primarily god like beings, not "core scientists". Half their stuff was made by dealing with other races, or trading it. Aka Nidavellir. The realm of the dwarfs. Asgards had the culture of the middle ages, but the technology and riches of the modern/space ages. They fight the best they can. A rifle is useful, but without rifle culture, soldier culture, it's not much of use for demi-gods who can sling a hammer so hard, it rips a seemingly invincible stone golem to pieces. For them rifleman is more like "grenadiers" at best.

Jotuns were known for using illusive magic. They could fool you to believe they were as big as mountains when in reality they weren't. Skrymir's tale with Thor is a good example of this. They also used this magic to shape shift into animals as well. So i would say this depiction is good enough for the Marvel universe that is.

Bro, the first “Thor” was so underrated. The people that hated on this movie so much must have missed the true meaning of the movie. This movie isn’t all about the action, which is what everyone wants to see in sci-fi action films nowadays. What it’s about is Thor learning how not to be obsessive in starting wars with others and not be so arrogant and reckless and instead, gain a sense of humility and selflessness and learn how to be kind, caring, and considerate of other people in order to gain his worthiness back. This movie is a well-developed story of how Thor becomes more heroic. That’s why he decided to sacrifice himself by leaving himself to die at the hands of Loki and The Destroyer on Earth when trying to protect Jane, her friends, and his fellow Asgardians, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. That’s why he also made another sacrifice by attempting to destroy The Rainbow Bridge that connects the Bifrost to all Nine Realms including Asgard and Earth so that he could prevent Earth from experiencing any more danger than it already has. In my opinion, Kenneth Branagh did an excellent job telling the story of how Thor became a hero.

it sucked because Branagh directed it , which made it really boring. his style is meant for live theater not movies. it's melodramatic and poorly paced. and then there was Ragnarok, which went full goofy. too goofy. the goofiness never stopped and was hard to concentrate on the gravity of the storyline. shit Thor lost his planet and it was a joke.

I really like this opening of Thor. Kenneth Branagh did a really great job of conveying the "god" "magical" and "magnificent" of what the "Northern Europe" myths and legends are supposed to look like. It is just like reading a tale as old as time, what our parents always told us when we were young. (I think he was also the director of the Cinderella live-action movie, whose I also really liked the fairy tale, picture book tone.) I really missed that majestic feeling. Now we know that Asgardians are just like aliens, living on the planet called Asgard, and are no different than us. Where is that "Beacon of Hope" and "Shining Across the Stars" vibe?

We see that he raised Hela as a bloodthirsty killer and the moment he had a change of heart, he locks her away on a prison, she was his creation and he just dumps her, covers up his past and pretends she doesn't exist that's bad parenting. Next we have Thor, who got banished because of his arrogance, but this arrogance was greatly boosted by Odin, from birth he was the star child, he was never disciplined properly, he was spoiled so badly and his ego grow so much that he would have started a war that would have a high amount of casualties, Odin didn't teach him values when he was young and let Thor grow into a selfish prick, something a good parent would never do, luckily the problem got solved. And lastly Loki, yes Odin housed him but he also ignored since he was a child, didn't care for him the same way he cared for Thor and just left Loki live in Thors shadow, you don't just belittle a child even, you have no idea what that does to them mentally. I'm not saying his kids would've turned out perfect but he is a horrible parent.

I think that the Frost Giants were in posesion of the Teseract at that time, that's why they were able to travel to Earth, cause they don't use something like Bifrost and neither have any technology to make ships, so I think it is plausible. Also, when Odín appeared in Norway, the Frost Giants probably tried to withdraw, and open a portal to their planet, that's why then the battle continues in Jothunheim. It could be the way Odin got the teseract, and he then gave it to the norway village to compensate all the damages of the battle.

I love how they give attention to details regarding the 900s Norway. The viking-style boats with Shields hanging on it, small villages and etc... Also most myths and Legends of Norse gods have originated from Norway so no wonder they chose that place.

As much as Ragnarok prevailed in the box office, I would never expect Thor solo movies to go in an entertaining, amusing, even slightly condescending direction. The grandiosity in this movie was overlooked and banished, but it fits the storyline and the character perfectly.
