ASCOT MASTERY, HOW TO TIE IT LIKE A GENTLEMAN. A STYLISH TUTORIAL

Hey there, gents, in this video we dive into timeless style, the art of tying an ascot, that elegant neckwear that exudes sophistication and panache. Whether you’re attending a swanky soirée or simply want to elevate your everyday look, mastering the ascot is your ticket to sartorial excellence.
The Canvas: Your Neck
Imagine your neck as a blank canvas, waiting for a stroke of elegance. The ascot, my friend, is that brushstroke-a refined twist that sets you apart from the crowd. It’s not just a piece of fabric; it’s a statement, a nod to tradition, and a whisper of old-world charm.
The Knot: A Gentleman’s Signature
Let’s get down to business-the knot. Unlike a regular tie, the ascot doesn’t scream for attention; it murmurs with grace. Here’s how you tie it:
1 Fold & Drape: Lay the ascot around your neck, with one end slightly longer than the other. The longer end should rest just above your belt line.
2 Cross & Tuck: Cross the longer end over the shorter one, creating an X. Now tuck the longer end under the shorter one, pulling it through the loop.
3 Adjust & Fluff: Gently adjust the knot, ensuring it’s snug but not suffocating. Fluff the ends for that nonchalant flair.
The Occasions: Where to Flaunt It
• Garden Parties: Picture yourself strolling through manicured lawns, sipping champagne. Your ascot? A burst of color against your crisp white shirt.
• Vintage Weddings: When the bride wears lace, and the groom channels Cary Grant, your ascot completes the retro romance.
• Sunday Brunch: Pair it with a tweed blazer, and suddenly, you’re the protagonist in an Agatha Christie novel.
The Playlist: What to Listen To
As you tie your ascot, let the dulcet tones of Sinatra or Ella Fitzgerald serenade you. Their voices echo the elegance of bygone eras-the same elegance you’re channeling.
The Confidence: Wear It Like You Own It
Remember, gentlemen, an ascot isn’t just an accessory; it’s an attitude. Wear it with confidence, as if you’ve inherited a secret from your stylish grandfather. Stride into the room, and let heads turn.
So there you have it-the art of ascot mastery. Now go forth, tie that knot, and embrace the timeless allure. And hey, if anyone asks, just say, “Oh, this old thing? It’s my signature.”

Ascot with a vested suit? Never saw that before. And a watch chain? Grover Cleveland meets Hugh Hefner. Good tutorial in tying the ascot though, so thanks. Fantastic beard too.

Cool! I have 6 different Ascot cravats and until now I've always tied them in virtually 4 in hand neck tie fashion with the under length pushed up and over the knot (to give it bulk). Never seen the knot and "over" tuck way that you show. This would allow me to leave my second shirt button undone and show more of the cravat material. When I try that with the method I use it exposes too much flesh🤣 (PS this livestream channel is dead but if you go to it I'm that mad english chap in the top hat...)

I have two ascots of thicker material, not easy to tie; then, I have another ascot of lighter material which is easier to tie. Thanks for the tutorial.

Ascot is no different that wearing a sign which says : _"Kindly rob and abuse me old chap"_ .
