Balls had nothing to do with it. Having nowhere to run he had little option but to stand and fight. All to small purpose. Battered around the ring like a small child he soon succumbed to a far superior fighter. At least his tattoos looked cute.

@@markcynic808 I believe he shows some guts since he could have easily quit on his stool after the third round due to being hurt, freeze and essentially let himself get hit, or clinch lime his life depended on it. In short there were many things he could have done other than try to fight back.

bivol is a lot better than beterviev

Beterbiev is a monster. Every shot he unloads is bound to wreak havoc on your body.

In high school I took up boxing to lose weight initially but then I fell in love with the sport. My Dad would drive me to St. Petersburg, Florida at a gym called 4th Street Boxing and Rod was in there EVERY DAY I would go (4-5 times a week) I watched him turn pro, saw him run through his first like 16 fights and remain humble through everything. I thought he'd rise to the top in NO TIME. Years later me and my dad watch him get robbed in the Travis Browne fight which further cemented my belief in him that if he was patient and kept workin, he'd have a belt in no time. I had heard about Beterbiev before this fight and thought "he aint never seen anybody like Rod." But dude, me and my dad watched in horror as he was beaten down and dismantled by Beterbiev. Artur is just too damn big and too damn skilled and it was a legit horror show watching this fight. Filmed documented truth that there are indeed LEVELS to this shit. Im now fully confident that I made the right decision by not trying to go pro because the ceiling I would have hit would have been too much to bear lol God bless Rod and God bless Artur.

I’m not really sure why they called that stoppage, rod was doing well against artur considering. Yeah he was getting beat up but didn’t need to be called in my opinion. Dude got some good shots off and was standing attempting to engage after being backed up forced to take a combo then returned as they called it while blocking, it was going to be a dog fight. I’m pretty sure a stoppage consistent of a fighter not defending himself while not returning, excessive cuts or bruising that would otherwise cause permanent harm or cannot be closed interfering with the fight, fighter can not stand, fighter gives up, or corner throws in the towel due to various reasons. In any case none of that happened he got pinned a few times and dropped once come on not enough to stop a fight in my opinion unless there is more I’m not aware of?

He wasn’t defending himself as much as they wanted, that’s why they called it. But where I’m coming from is can he or could he not due to injury and if that’s the case then why is he standing without wobbly legs and otherwise able to fight? Are you a simulating mcgregor where he snapped his ankle as this being the same? I wasn’t aware mcgregor fought mayweather. Mma vs boxing?

What a great fight, he had Kalajdzic gasping for air early, Beterbiev had great footwork he can box as well as brawl. He is ruthless, solid as a rock insane stamina. Smith Jr is getting the same on June 18th.

Beterbiev is sooo incredible good in middle and close reach. And at long reach he’s capable of fending anything of. It’s a real tank. He keeps prowling his prey. From the centre, from the outside. It doesn’t matter. All his punches count. And hurt. Don’t see any worthy opponent in LH-division who can go the distance with him yet. I think his reign will endure for quite some time to come.

I was very happy that the ref stopped the fight. Kalajdzic already proved that he is a warrior, so there was no point him to be crushed both mentally and physically. Him being saved allowed him to continue forward with his career and continue to win fights :)

Beterbiev has so much natural thudding power. George foreman had the same type of power. Just heavy hard shots. It's the type of power. You are just born with. Beterbiev stays with in himself. Hunting fighters down. Round after round. Truly impressive nearly impossible fighter to beat. To beat him. You have to keep distance. For 12 rounds. Rabid fire jab. Have a really good chin. Because him will land some hard shots.

I'd rather see Beterbiev vs Bivol and Zurdo. People need to unify their own weight class and fight each other before they even consider fighting a newcomer from a lower weight class.

Beterbiev hit him a lot but he never landed that one monster punch that would have KOd Rad. He kept his head moving and kept punching till it was stopped.

ARTUR BETERBIEV = the best in light heavyweight boxing. I fear for BIVOL when he faces Beterbiev but I do like the technical skills of DMITRY BIVOL

Given the fact Beterbiev (especially FF>> to today) has shown Ring IQ and "Boxing" skills... My only reserve to call him a "Boxer/Puncher" is because the ilk of someone like Terence Crawford is the epitome of a "Boxer/Puncher." However, Artur Beterviev is not simply a "Puncher/Brawler" so I'll end w/ Artur Beterbiev is a BAD MAN... Maybe the 2 ends of the spectrum stylistically is what category he's in... the Very Uncommon "Boxer/Brawler" Very Composed and Measured ala his fight w/ Kolling, But completely able to open up and chop that tree down... Maybe some fans will miss these subtleties, Artur, be it on the inside, perfect form left uppercuts, short stabbing body blows... One Consistency I've seen his whole career is DO NOT try to Tie up Artur Beterbiev... he WILL step back or push off and *Hurt you, or Start Releasing salvo's on the inside...

Radi's a pretty good fighter. Fought Browne a few years ago, probably should have won that fight, but he got a bad knockdown ruled against him. Still only 2 losses against Beterbiev and Browne and he's 30. I expect him to make a run still. This was one of Artur's best wins imo. Happy bday Artur!

Kalajdzic forgot all about using his best weapons against Beterbiev. Fighting on the inside was the worst Kalajdzic could do against the strong compact Beterbiev. If Kalajdzic had used his long reach, speed and feet on the outside, he could have had a fighting chance.

Yeah, running away might have been an option if it wasn't for Beterbiev's superior strength, stamina and punch power. Kalajdzic looked like he'd run a marathon by the fight's end, Beterbiev, like he'd he'd been chillin' watching Netflix.

Probably Artur's most exciting fight. The back-and-forth in round 3 gave me Gatti-Ward vibes. I think Canelo could be really troubled by Artur. This was just oozing with testosterone.

@@Allyourneedsmet I mean, we already saw that Canelo struggled against Sergey Kovalev at light-heavyweight (when Kovalev was out of his prime). Canelo also isn't particularly fast, whereas Beterbiev is extremely fast with his hands, and threw 1,111 punches against Enrico Kölling. And where's the evidence that body shots would "destroy" Beterbiev? He's only ever been down because of momentary lapses in judgement and being hit in the chin. Even then, he's gotten up instantly. Also, Beterbiev's style of walking down his opponents has shown to be effective against Canelo (as demonstrated in both fights against Gennady Golovkin which he lost, though Gennady was robbed both times). We also have no idea how Canelo would deal with Beterbiev's power. Stylistically, Beterbiev should be a nightmare for Canelo.

@@ravenaussie3760 Kovalev had good defense so we can say that's why canelo struggled, compare that to beterbiev. Kovalevs is better. What destroyed Kovalev who had a better defense - a body blow. So, if you take beterbiev with the poor defense, with caneloz speed, elusiveness and experience with setting up body punches, we both can agree canelo would win. Let's not even mention he(canelo) absorbs punches and when he fought ggg he wasn't as experienced.

Great fight, Rad should be proud. Amazing heart and chin. If only he stuck to boxing and moving instead of standing and trading. The philly shell style was too risky too due to Beterbievs nasty right hook which landed alot, especially around the temple and back of the head! Hopefully this fight didn't damage this kid because he clearly is world class. Pretty sure Rad was fighting concussed after some of the earlier shots hence the quick stoppage.

Really Artur is just a savage.

Gotta get respect? From Beterbiev? Good luck with that. But bro - you definitely got my respect.

True. He's slow but he knows how to cut his opponent's speed down and take out his target. The Bivol unification fight should be soon so I'm intrigued to see how he breaks down that style.
