What was more concerning is the refree was pulling it up for him if it goes down + he was deliberately spitting out his mouthpiece to get some time and the refree was deliberately exaggerating it like a knockdown instead of telling him to pickup his mouthpiece

Pure FACTS, i was telling ppl since that night, English ppl are dirty, he came to their backyard giving their fighter a chance but they were trying every trick to rob him. I add 2 more things i noticed 1. Refree was even helping him by pulling his guard up for him when it goes down.😂 2. Refree was deliberately exaggerating the mouthpiece throw like it was a knock down to give him more time. 3. Yarde was covering up his head all night knowing that they gave him Olympic size body guard for the body😂😂😂 He still got knocked the fuck out tho😂😂😂

Crazy to me that the ref didn’t force Yarde to lower his waist guard. It was all the way up there, so high Beterbiev couldn’t land a body shot at all without connecting with the protector. The ref adjusted it once, but it was way too high from the 3rd round on.

Marathon runners average 40 years old in America, and there have been Olympic marathoners as old as 45. I don't know if it is endurance, mental strength, pain management or something else; but the average 40 year old does endurance events faster than the average 20 year old. Knowing how to get to the later rounds where he can use his power, smarts and constitution is an art. I'm impressed.

@dil8784 It's hard to maintain both power and stamina.... I think he was plenty strong enough, but he wasted a lot of energy the first couple of rounds and was fighting tight, especially with his jab, and you have to feel just right and fight smart inorder to beat someone as experienced as Beterbeiv. He would have stood more of a chance had he trained more for stamina and speed vs power since Beterbeiv is Older.

@@Livetofightanotherday777 I just think Artur forces you to make uncomfortable decision by making you Panic just by him being up in your grill non stop punishing you once he’s got you trapped. It’s like you are forced to plant your feet and throw power shots just to get him off you which again takes away from whatever Gameplan you have and just going to war with him which he eventually wins in the long run. So he forces you to make a choice backup and get battered for longer rounds or slug and you get knocked out quicker. Thats the decision he gave smith in the first round when he pushed him on to the ropes and banged him up. It’s pure intimidation.

This was a good fight and started a great year of boxing hopefully Beterbiev Smith can do the same thing for 2024

Bivol can hit without getting hit. But there is always a big punch to equalize a match. I think Bivol can avoid the shots and win rounds with accurate punches.

If Bivol can use his jab, he can win by UD against Beterbiev. However, if Bivol takes a few clean hits from Beterbiev, it will be hard for Bivol to apply his plan.

Beterbiev's style is Eastern European version of a boxer puncher. Strong balance. Always positioned to punch. Able to fight forward and backward. A style that gives a boxer puncher a hard time is an outboxer. (Ali vs Foreman, sugar ray Vs hands of stone). This is why Bivol Vs Beterbiev is long overdue and heavily anticipated

I see him more like George part 2. He not only has the power, but the wisdom of taking a fight to later rounds when he needs to. His endurance can come into play as a weapon and make his power mean more. It takes more energy to be stalked and backed up. I have only watched the man fight 3-4 times now, but I am impressed.

Beterbiev can always break down the defenses of all his opponents, round after round he always improves, he is really skilled, strong, has good stamina. I'm sure he'll destroy Bivol too. I can't wait to watch it.
