Artist Interview - Nokie Edwards
www.premierguit... PG's Joe Coffey is On Location in Nashville, TN, where he's backstage at the Ryman Auditorium and chats with surf-guitar legend Nokie Edwards. They talk about Nokie's hand-made signature guitar, the HitchHiker. It features a swamp ash body, quilted maple top, a maple/walnut neck with ebony fingerboard and Sperzel locking tuners.
Also, Nokie plays us some Chet Atkins, Eagles and Eric Clapton to show off his versatility and love for all types of music.

RIP Nokia. He was my hero, and his work got me started to playing in 1964. I saw the Ventures in concert in 1963. I saved my money and I bought an electric guitar, amp and case, and I only paid $29.95 in 1964. Many memories. Thank you Nokie.

I can't say enough about how great The Ventures were. I hope a whole generation of younger guitarists will appreciate them and find inspiration in the Ventures, just as they did, looking back to Chet Atkins and Les Paul, before them.

The Ventures had a bunch of hits and were a staple of the radio when I was a kid. He's a great guitarist but I hope he has a great relationship with his chiropractor because that guitar looks heavy! Enjoyed the video!

no they are not, for a little time, Mosrites were made by Ed Roman, but Nokie's Hitchhiker model is NOT made by Ed Roman, who by the way is dead...

Nokies worst tone from day one was with this guitar, his tone using a tele and Mosrite guitar was top notch.
that's a good looking guitar but I bet it weighs a TON.
