Artist Draws Hyperrealistic Portraits Using Bic Ballpoint Pens | Insider Art

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Oscar Ukonu is a hyperrealistic artist in Nigeria. He's a self-taught artist who has been creating these pieces with ballpoint pens since 2014. Each piece can take him almost six weeks to create using three basic techniques: hatching, crosshatching, and scribbling.
He’ll switch between 10 of the same pens to create the portrait. The theme of his work is Afro-realism, which he describes as a diverse way of viewing the African experience and identity with regards to things like gender, religion, and politics.

That's absolutely fascinating! The use of Bic ballpoint pens for creating hyperrealistic portraits shows such a unique blend of skill and creativity. It's incredible how everyday objects like ballpoint pens can be transformed into tools for stunning art. The precision and patience required for this kind of artwork are truly commendable. Plus, it's inspiring to see artists challenge the traditional boundaries of art mediums. What a wonderful way to explore and celebrate artistic talent! 🎨✨
