@@airplanes_aren.t_real I know, I gotta say this tho, I've seen art done by 14 year olds on insta and devianart in my lifetime that is MILES better than art she copies and hey she copies? Like at least make an effort the anatomy is so off and the paint i can tell just goes over lines and she can hardly even try fixing them What infuriates me more is how her 'art' gets her a lot of money when I've gotten art trades better than anything she makes by more talented and incredible artists sigh, there is no justice in this world

I’m just as surprised as you are because the paint strokes look so messy, it might as well been slapped together in under 10 minutes. It’s kinda weird how certain things are considered “real art”, but it feels like there isn’t effort put into it. Yet again, stuff like this is really touchy subject and there’s so many factors to consider.

@@kalmeio_17 Yeah but thanks to these being stolen art even if it is good it's still undeserving of any praise.. not that I can think of any, the colors used aren't thought well, the characters look so unnatural and the paint over the line without or looks good really ruins it all You are very correct on the lack of effort, even if it aint stolen, geez not even the politics or 'deep' message helps make it 'expensive'

what happens is that.... art elitist individuals like her curator and the art historian that defended her... are "contemporary artists", have very outdated concepts and then pretend to claim copyright outdated, that nothing has been created nor has an owner, and then they proceeded to use examples of reinterpretative/pop art.... which, anyone with two seconds more on wikipedia knows the specific artists they used actually credited the original sources or went to curt and lost or payed for the rights but they as prestigious art connoisseurs consider that we all are macho ignorants

this video is stupid like the youtuber. The only crime here, is that she sell shit in high value, instead many other better artist sell their art (if they are lucky) for a piece of bread. But stealing?? That is not stealing and in Art is fking normal to do so. Or now we have to denounce every director/cinematographer, who replicate a painting in his movies? Or denounce every fking artist (like Mohammed as well) who take a photo/painting/picture from a reference? How many artists wrote the artist of the photo in their references? Or denounce Mohammed for ripping DC/Marvel Art Style instead of creating his own? Or denounce famous painters who replicate other painitings? Like Andy Warhol Painting of Marlyn Monroe or Campells Soup Canes? Did he pay the artist who made the photo or the design of the canes?....I do not thinks so... So this video is utterly shit and stupid...so stupid that is just a witchhunt from a stupid egocentric preacher to their stupid sheeps...telling them he is doing right and other bad... The video would be intelligent if he talked why such bad paintings are getting sell thousand of money, where other much better art are sell for 5$...this is an interesting subject to talk about.. The women did not steal...stealing is if I take someone else property, in this case Art, and selling it. But if I do a replica with my style...then is not stealing...is fking normal and every Artist (even the best) are doing it.

Sadly in Argentina you can't expect justice to do as much, Fatima Pecci Carou is an employee of the Minister of Health and she is very well involved with politics as she is a militant of the peronist party, the current government. So you can say corruption is involved. You can't expect here to put a criminal behind the bars, no matter if they killed and commited several heavy crimes. Laws and Judges here are a disaster, we can't expect justice for victims of abuse, homicide, hate crimes, theft and... yeah with arts, specially the digital ones, they wouldn't care less.

This has been Argie Art since the Kirchner government decided to bribe all ideologically aligned """artists""" with spaces on museums, TV or just funding them for life. K art is all like this, crappy made, partisan subjects, or just theft. I went to Tecnópolis in 2012 and the art area was like that, including some bizarre Cristina and Nestor paintings. The average Kirchner supporter is to close minded to even comprehend that people outside their circles use the internet an will detect theft, because all of their comrades barely know how to open a browser.

To shine some light on the issue, the reason her art it's on a museum is purely political. Here in Argentina, there is a strong political current that is called Peronismo. It's very much a populist movement. There was abmuseum open in the last 10 years by governments of that movement, and since some of her works depict Eva Perón (a very important historical person of that political party) it's no mystery why her very sub par work got a space in those museums. It's purely political. Edit: thanks for the correction. Evita was not president, Maria Isabel Perón was.

This comment was more interesting and intelligent that of the 15min video of the preacher up there. Sadly nobody would talk about this problems, because most of the artist are this problem. Instead the video is a stupid witchhunt from a stupid preacher, which IDK why I get recommended. Sadly the woman did not steal the "art", but made a very, but very, but very very bad replica of them, wich in Art is possible (examples are plenty looks comics or movies). The problem is not Argentina, but worldwide. The Art is not sell, because of quality, but of networking. The so called artbrooker ( I dont remember right) are people, who go in gallery and museums, to buy so many painting by one artist, so next time the artist sell his painting in 10times higher the price before, because people thinks :"Oh His/Her Art is sell, thats mean his art is good and nice, so I am going to buy it as well." So you look in the world for the most famous artist in the world...and then realize with total shock the shit they do...and you are questioning...who the fuk would buy such shit? Like who the fuk buy the shit that this argentinian did? I mean yo have to be sick to put in a wall...but heck now the dude can say that the art piece is 700.000$ and everyone will look differently and says "oooH...now I see how beautiful it is..."

    I'd assume from ur comment you really don't care about art that much and is just randomly recommended here :/ At least to me what I draw has great value to myself, it's an extension of me after all. I made effort to use references and tried different styles to see what suits me the most, even if it's not anime/realism. Art tracing for me (I'm not famous enough to be traced so lucky ig?) is like all your hard work Ctrl+C-ed and pasted some random nowhere and ppl shower praise for a theft while real you feels worthless ;_; So did he not touch the bigger problem? True, he probably doesn't know it even. Does that make him ignorant? Yes in the grand scheme of things. Is he justified to feel angry and do witch hunt? Yes for me. Dumb doesn't mean you aren't allowed to feel pissed when you see hard work being stolen ;_;

As someone already said I can’t believe anyone would pay 4K for her “pieces”. They aren’t even intentionally stylized that way, she just can’t paint. I wouldn’t dare say that about anyone else’s art but given that she literally copied an entire other work it should at least be somewhat quality. Also just pisses me off in general these artists she steals from probably don’t even make a lot from their own pieces.

Just wanted to clarify something, no, the museum never paid for those paintings. The idea was to exhibit the paintings for some time, and then return them to her, but at no point she got paid for it. Now, please, under no circumstances believe I’m trying to defend this woman, she’s a horrible person and as any art theft, this is a complete lack of respect for the original work and artists. The mere fact that her art was displayed in an actual museum is disgusting enough, and even worse far from admitting her fault she’s now doubling down, using feminism as a shield and claiming that this backlash is some kind of misogynistic pursuit against her. Completely disgusting behaviour, hate to share nationality with someone like her, but the whole “She’s earning thousands of dollars out of this” is, thank the art gods, just misinformation. Still, not an excuse, just something to be a little bit relieved about.

She didn't get money for the exhibition, because she couldn't win it that's why Eva Grinstein had to sign on her behalf, it is pretty curious how now she "isn't the winner of the scholarship" compared to the articles and interviews she had prior to the accusation video and now NP is now "no no no, she didn't earn anything, not even for producing the 11 paintings" when... as she... as a member of Nosotras Proponemos, they have a tariff and charge the museum or the representative for materials, flete, time the works are exhibed, quantity of works and more. As well, we also have to keep in consideration all the royalties she received from the Merch the museum made from Evita Ninja, and outside from the Museum, what she earned with her group made, the fanzine, stickers, that were even on MercadoPago, the art courses, talks, all the promotion she received as well. And for the simple fact that her sold paintings in Artsy were around $2000 to $4000, yeah, she was making thousands (miles, no millones) So when you sum that yeah she ain't making a million dollars but more than $1000 USD surely. But yeah, the specific number of $4500 seems a bit too much, but I won't deny that in artsy there were some works, thankfully or well I don't know, were the pictures of Eva that were inspired from the photos taken of her with the sailor moon hairstyle and such)

Imagine stealing and tracing the art of other artists and then downplaying the rightful criticism received by saying that everyone’s only going after you because you’re a feminist. *Bruh.* I’m legitimately surprised that she even got that far with that quality of art. So often, when someone traces it’s exceptionally easy to tell because their original work doesn’t hold up to the (generally more skilled) work that they traced from. It creates a really obvious disconnect between elements in the piece. I’ve seen it happen with “tattoo artists” who trace comic book characters, attempt to scribble it in with some colours, and then that obvious lack of understanding how to colour makes it sort of apparent that they probably didn’t have the skills to draw the piece in the first place. Her work gives me that exact same vibe and I’m shocked that no one at the Museum *purchasing* these pieces ever gave it a second thought.

Thank you for making the video! Sadly, most of argentinian digital artists are still in shock with these news, and in my case I'm the acquaintance of one of Fatima's victims, Batusawa. I've been translating Carou's defense, what the press, the curator and the art historian that defended Fatima said. Not only to mention that Fatima is in fact an employee in the minister of Health and the solely reason she won that scholarship is because Eva Grinstein, the curator, signed on her behalf and claimed the prize herself, because Fatima, as an employee of the State and an artist that was not struggling financially with the quarantine couldn't claim the prize as it was originally stated in the rules of the Exhibition. Suspiciously, her agrupation Nosotras Proponemos, claimed that Fatima didn't earn anything neither made money out of the exhibition (Despite as Fatima being a member, there is a tariff that the artists from said group respect, and they charge for materials, freight, time of the work being exhibed and more), which according to a video before the accusations, she claimed that "A girl from the Museum saw one of my paintings (A drawing plagiarized from SoundlessWind) and told me to work on an exhibition with her" so, this girl which is in fact Eva Grinstein, was not only making her work ad honorem in the beginning (if we keep in mind Fatima didn't make any money) and that they did an research work together for their exhibition... which leads me to believe the curator was present during Fatima's "creative process" and I believe she in fact... was pretty aware about how the artists was taking her """references"" and yet, allowed her to participate, accepted the prize on her behalf and now is defending her... Now, I can confirm that there are 32 plagiarized works so far that are archived in a Google Document that was circulating online and was used for spanish and english youtubers so far (which I made after the original twitter thread showing the evidence was deleted due to mass reports to the account that made it, HoannSetrid) And in Batusawa's perspective, she not only has a barrer language to which she can't communicate well with anyone from Argentina, but at the same time she just believes she can't take legal actions because of how strong Fatima's position and relationships with the Museum, political party and the government is. It is sad that a well known curator as Eva Grinstein, the art historian, Andrea Guinta, the art critique Fernado Castro Flórez and the Minister of Culture are defending her just for the sake to protect the political agenda they have and she only validates herself because of Grinstein's now, not so trusted, prestige. The Feminist movement by other hand is divided, there are people who are defending Carou but these seem to be few to none and whenever they jump to argue with artists, digital illustrators and more, their arguments are limited, and the only thing they repeat is the very same thing Guinta and Carou said during their defense in the articles of LaNacion+ and Página12.

@@joined_shores_art Your welcome, as a digital artist from Argentina, the case not only frustrates me as an artist that since I was 12 I've never received support of the government, nor the intendence and the only way I came to live of what I enjoy is because I had to put extra effort into it, financially, educational and emotional level. The original user who was making the list of plagiarized works, HoannSetrid, had their account eliminated by Fatima's supporters, so that's why I've decided to make the Google Document and took the trouble of finding more images with the help of other users and friends. Because that way, everyone can see how hyperly dependent this woman is and how she only is proving people she has a title for decoration, and doesn't apply anything regarding art, because if she really stands out that what she did is "reinterpretative art" then she didn't had to delete anything from her website, like any plagiarist does everytime they get caught and is not even that she had a comment section there. Here is the list with the 32 plagiarized works, it's incredible what the peronist party would do for the sake of attracting younger people (because you can vote in this country at the age of 16) by combining an important movement such as feminism and their hobbies that is anime... The libertarian party also failed back when a politician went to an anime convention in cosplay, and once inside tried to promote their party with pamphlets and a stand docs.google.com/document/u/1/d/1HOHPqUK36d6720oMvYX0gqsVepIy1KRubopTLJtalEE/edit?usp=sharing

Everything that was written about "Evita Ninja" was just word vomit. This isn't meaningful; it's superficial to the point of being elementary. If the pose was what she wanted, fine, no foul. For a work of art to be transformative it needs to be different by at least 60%. That is not 60%; it's plagiarism. Changing her clothes to an outfit Evita wore and making an effort to make it look like Evita could have accomplished the goal and, even then it would still not be enough to convey a statement. It is evident that all of her work lacks planning and has the stench of laziness and lack of effort. The museum who bought her work are anathema to the art community. She and they should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm not saying that as one of those "I hate art people" who throw a fit when they see Cy Twombly or Yves Klein, I think there's actually a lot of technically proficient, thought-provoking and fun to look at contemporary art (I'd argue that even the majority of art you see in galleries is at least some mix of those), but it's also extremely crooked.

I thought at first its wrong then i found out "even animation studio hire copy artist, as long as you have a great style with an accurate drawing then you can still be hired." and i never felt more inspired, its not because i copy that its because my art can still be worth it based on how i style it. I can make example, in haikyuu, season 3 where is shiratorizawa vs karasuno, theres a realistic looking trophy made art, it was copied but the style what made it great, its realistic, its beautiful, it stands out and it still weirdly fits)

A bit of context: This woman (and that "museum") are part of a political movement called 'Peronism'. Under banners of patriotism, socialism, defense of workers and the people, etc., this movement has committed acts of terrorism and social destabilization that brought Argentina to the brink of a civil war and conclude in an army coup. To this day they do not answer for their murders and actively try to rewrite the history to appear as "the good guys." Many of them are part of the Senate now. This woman, in saying that she is attacked for being a woman and a feminist, simply follows a deep-rooted custom of her political party: using flags that people frequently support to justify her actions.

it is normal...many famous artist did it and still do it. Look Andy Warhol or tip "plagiarism in art" and you will be surprised. There are 2 philosophy in this matter. one who denounce it and the other who says it should be done. But at the end every artist do it and it is hard to see the "plagiarism", which is not copy and the definition is just use in literature. At the end every reference an artist use, it can be see as "plagiarism". And if you see tutorials of digital artist is pretty normal to use picutres and photos in their digital painting. Do you think they write the author of the photo? But anyway if you do not belive me...fine. Go to an expert in this matter and talk with them.

I CANNOT! Her art is traced but it STILL looks so bad! It's so sad that people are buying her "art" for so much. Art thieves have no work ethic because if they did they wouldn't be art thieves. It takes time to learn but you can make decent art if you go and look at ways to improve with free videos or tutorials. Another good way to explain fan art vs plagiarism is that plagiarism is you claiming art, that isn't yours, as your own via stealing/tracing. Making fan art of Iron Man doesn't make me a plagiarist because I am not claiming Iron Man. I'm also not tracing him lol.

There is still the idea that art has no real value and it's easy to make when that can't be further from the truth. Every artist that wants to do art for a living ends up leaving the country. AND THEN, people like her get money out of copying and tracing...I love this 🤡

More people need to know about this, not only because of the plagiarism, but also because it promotes political propaganda for the party that has been destroying our country for almost 70 years. Only because of this political iconography is that she was given the place at the museum. Plus, on top of being clearly traced, it is bad art. As you said, there is SO many talented artists that have never sold a piece, it's ridiculous.
