Fully-agreed. I think had ESR had minutes he would be a first-starter but it's not attainable due to what is happening. We can make serious money selling all three which will fund something.

Probably won't immediately start given Havertz's form, but that's good, we'll have a good striker behind him who's got years ahead of him to improve and take the spot .

Arteta has never given any indication that he wants ESR to go anywhere. In fact, his contract was renewed and I think Arteta believes in him. I'll be surprised if he is sold.

Hey Charles and TNAT I feel we need to get better at direct free kicks around the box. We either put one of the current players on a schedule to get better or take this into account while looking for a player in the market.

With these young players, we need to get a few cup runs going next season to be able to give them a chance and show arteta what they can do. I think our bad cup runs hindered the rotation of our youngsters and other squad players. Something we need to improve next season.

With Nwanieri, it was probably the plan all along to replace ESR with him if he is considered to have a higher ceiling and more suited to the system. Clearly versatile too which Arteta loves

I really feel like this is the summer to improve on our squad players and not so much on the starting 11 - the only thing that can stop us from having a great season again are injuries (we've been rather lucky not to have too many this season) so I think it's a good idea to add 4 or 5 players to the squad that Arteta will trust instead of spending all the money on 2 big signings - our starting 11 is already good enough, we only have to make sure we now get players that we can rotate them with without having a bit dropoff in quality ... Maybe there's one place in the starting 11 up for grabs, depending on whether Rice will play as a 6 or 8 and what happens with Partey

Maximising on player sales , while still having the right homegrown players on the list, signing players onto a 5 year deal too would increase funds spending figures.

Charles and TNAT: Just for the sake of discussion and entertainment, which player, who isn't currently linked to us or our target, would you love to sign? For me, it would be Takefusa Kubo. It's obvious that we need a backup for the right-wing spot-a young talent with so much potential and not on huge wages; he's such an Arsenal signing. I think he would be a good rotational player. And if, just if, it still didn't convince you, the last time we signed a player who was picked up by Real Madrid as a teenager but failed to find his place before regaining his confidence at Sociedad, it turned out great... really great.

Charles and TNAT: With rumours of cuesta and albert being touted for managerial positions, if a few backroom staff do leave is there scope to promote from within the club or bring in ex players such as a cazorla or a bergkamp to the coaching team?

What do you think the plan for the forward is? TNAT said we're looking for a forward who can play on the wing as opposed to a out and out striker I find that odd because we basically already have a striker who can play wing in Jesus, unless we think his injury problems will continue or we rate Havertz that highly as the main striker. Both are worrying to me, Havertz had a good 6 months but so did Nunez and the fans turned on him in the end. Havertz scored a bunch of goals Vs bad teams we were battering anyway it won't be the same next season. If it was up to me I would buy Gyokeres and play Jesus RW as rotation for Saka more. That gives us someone who is physical, can finish but still play our style

I think we should sell Zinchenko in the summer and bring Hato-Diomande duo Timber, Hato, Gabriel, Kiwior, Saliba, Diomande, White, Tomiyasu - This would solve our defensive problem for many years

Something else to consider with transfers is the home grown rule. Stepping up is the right thing to do.

@charleswatts and @teamnews&tix what are your thoughts on Eze from CP as left 8 or going in on Olise (who has a low release clause this summer) to challenge Saka. I know Saka is the starboy but I like the idea of olise qualities pushing Saka to the very best. This would also allow great rotation of the wide men

For Charles + TNAT: It is often said that Team A or Team B is in pole position to sign a player. What does this actually mean in reality? So often it is said but nothing materialises. A lot of transfer speculation seems to be just that, speculation. Don't get me wrong, I love it and it fills the summer months, but sometimes Im suspicious that some journalists are just making it up or at least stretching a point beyond credibility.

Amazing content as always, Charles! Curious if you’ve heard any rumblings about interest in Xavi Simons? Seško is obviously a fantastic talent, but feels more like a gamble than Simons who’s now proved 2 seasons running that he’s only going up in levels of ability AND (crucially) versatility. I’d personally rather go get a player who looks like the next Modric / Bernardo Silva than risk the quoted amount of money on Seško who could be more Patrick Schick than Haaland; especially given the rumors that PSG may see him as expensive. Simons could slot in next to MØ, provide cover on both wings, AND has Aguero type qualities if we needed striker depth behind Jesus / to replace Jesus / rotate with Kai. What do you think?

Charles and TNAT: if you were to pick one position which you think Arsenal will prioritise this summer which would you pick? Lots of suggestions we need a striker, but God forbid Saka gets injured next season we seem short on the wings.

I wouldn't mind seeing a transfer window where we bring in Sesko, a winger (I like Lookman since he can play on both wings very well and watching him play in that Europa league final was very enjoyable haha), Zubimendi or Joao Gomes from Wolves, someone like Szczesny to backup Raya, and then Hato for cover at left back and center back. I feel like with the sales we would be making (especially ESR and Ramsdale) we could cover a lot of the costs it would take to bring these players in and we would undoubtedly have a stronger squad next year because of it. What are your thoughts on these names?

Arsenal might have to look at youssouf fofana for DM he's very good on the ball and off the ball. He would cost less than zubimendi, bruno and Douglas.

Is it a realistic thought process to think we can accumulate £100 million minimum in sales this window? ESR, Ramsdale, Eddie, Nuno, Sambi, Nelson are the 6 I can think of that will all go this window and will allow us to bring in some fresh blood to push the squad to the next level. Question for you and TeamNewsAndTix: is it ever the case that fans’ opinion or even transfer rumours themselves affect clubs’ strategy in the market? I suppose I am asking, besides randomly arising golden opportunities, how settled clubs’ target lists are when the summer begins?

I don’t agree we should spread around. Arsenal already has a complete team and many young stars. The signings going forward I believe should be either superstar or very experienced former superstar that is at the tail of his career as part time player like Kroos & Modric for Real. We have enough stars or potential stars. I would go for superstar forward this offseason and another midfielder .

Mustafi was our main defensive problem... Lille is still drinkin wine on us and yeah Cech for me.

A question to you and /Team news and ticks: Last year we signed Raya on loan and we're making it permanent this year, because of FFP restrictions. However from what I know FFP is to do with net spent over three years, right? More importantly, does that mean we'll be handicapped in terms of the amount of money we can spend? Assuming we get around 50-100m incoming from sales, approximately how much can we spend this window without getting in warm waters with FFP police?

I think the new rules are going to be voted in by July. Which increase the amount we all can spend I think. If the old rules remain, we are in a 50m profit this last financial year without any sales. So add sales on top of that and our quarter final finish in UCL and our 2nd place finish in the prem I’d say you’re looking at 150m-200m depending on how we sell.

Gyokores should be the Striker we go after. Sesko still has some development needed.

With all respect: Gyokeres is a massive risk ... He had one great season in Portugal and before that he did alright for Coventry ... It would be absolutely mental to pay 100 mil for him imho ... And he's not even that young anymore, he'll be 26 next week ... Sesko would be a much smarter move

@@Cengert1979 Sesko only got 14 goals and 2 assists this season. Gyokores got 29 goals and 10 assists. Arsenal need a player that's already complete and that'll have an instant impact. We can't afford to wait 3-4 years for players to develop as our current star players won't hang around long without winning silverware.

But 100 mil for a player that had one good season in Portugal is simply too much ... I'd rather go for a Premier League proven player like Ollie Watkins instead then but I doubt Villa will let him go - Sesko is probably be the best option without spending ridiculous money ... he's definitely an upgrade on Eddie already and he will get much better very soon

Ivan Toney is 28yrs, in march next year he will be 29. Please have a look at Sesko, he offers more than toney at only 20yrs. I think Sesko fits Arsenal better than Toney. Toney is also very controversial off the pitch and could be a hot head in the dressing room, not what Arteta likes. Sesko can be coached to be even better. He is 6"5 tall with good dribbling, hold up and striking ability.

When you say there is a big difference in price between Sesko and Gyokeres, Sesko isn’t exactly cheap at 60m euros (RC). That’s a lot of money for a player who still has some developing to go through, so if he is serious target the scouts had better be right , with thorough analysis.

A big name player does not necessarily mean they will play well with the boys. What we want is a good clinical player who will score goals. They don't need to be a big name for that
