Man City use more youngsters than Arsenal yet they won the EPL title. Nwaneri is very talented to play for Arsenal's first team and including him will make Arsenal stronger and not weaker. If Arteta continue to dilly-dally with promoting him to the first team, he would joined another club! Chido Obi-Martins is also knocking on the door. He should start playing them in the senior team!

@@ezeobinna2303 The point is that if they were so good they'd be in the team already. Barca don't field Lamal just for the sake of it. The kid is the real deal. Same goes for Rodrygo, because as we all know Real Madrid doesn't just sign anybody. Saka was the same for us when he came through. The coaches see these players train day in day in and day out. Have some faith and trust that they know what they're doing.

Following from Dubai. The fact that it is no longer easy to find players that can improve our first 11; being realistically attainable is a clear testimony on how far we have progressed as a team. How do you upgrade from Thomas Partey and Jesus? It will only be a matter of injury record not ability. We have made huge strides.

Hi Charles, with Ramsdale I think the club should not be in a rush to offload him. I think the club should keep him if they do not get the deserved price for him. And the same applies to Smith Row.

agree 100% we have a lot of games next season, we struggled with workload this year despite early exits from the domestic cups.

In my opinion if the right amount doesn’t come for Aaron then we should absolutely keep him. We can be keen on selling him but we must not be desperate and the player needs to absolutely know that we don’t intend to lose money especially for a strong talent like him. It’d be absolutely unjustifiable and a slap to this great club. I think if we sell Ramsdale for cheap then we can never stamp our foot to make any money off a serious sale for any of our players, teams will be looking to take the piss.

It is irrelevant how they feel about the Ramsdale fee. This is a business and we should not care about feelings. This is the same club that is rumoured to have placed a 200m price tag on Isak and 100m on Bruno. If they want to go for Trafford, then they should. They will not get Trafford for less than 30m, so good luck to them. They should not let the door hit them on the way out. At some point, we need to stand our ground as a club because we are seen as a club that can be pressured into selling for a low price. Moreover, Ramsdale just signed a new deal, so we have enough leverage to ask for our price. How much are they going to sign Lewis Hall? A Chelsea academy youngster that has no cap for the English national team. The least we should consider from any suitors for Ramsdale is 30m.

At 30 Mill I'd rather keep Ramsdale as a Cup Keeper. Ridiculous to think Newcastle won't even pay that! For me it has to be closer to 50.

With the alleged £15 million bid that is being offered by Newcastle United, I think that both Ramsdale and Arsenal should be pretty pissed off with it. A £15 million bid is, if you ask me and I'm sure that Edu saw it the same way..... insulting. Since coming to the club, he has improved that much that he's now England no 2 and the heir to that number 1 shirt.

Hey Charles, thanks for the consistent updates. That LW position is such a tricky for Arsenal. Sign a big player or allow Trossard/Martinelli to duel it out knowing they both have the capability to score 10-15 goals - around the same Leroy Sane would be expected to score. I would rather back both Trossard & Martinelli, and instead invest in a game-changer like Neto that play really well on both wings, with his primary focus on covering Saka. This summer really should be about two ceiling raising players (CDM/CM and Striker) to elevate the team, and at least 2 more floor raising players (CB and Winger). We also need cover for Odegaard - although less worried because ESR is there, Vieira but even more importantly this is a great season to bed in Nwaneri who it seems is already under Odegaard's wing. I trust Arteta and Edu, but we need to elevate the squad while adding game changers that can be impact full this coming season.

If Newcastle wants Ramsdale, Arsenal should use him as an addition to get Isak or guimeras. If not they will price him down. 40m +Ramsdale should get Guimeras. 60m + Ramsdale should get Isak. We just have to be smart in this market

I know he's not linked to us but what do you think about Rafael Leao? Whenever I watch him he reminds me of Bale/Vini Jr type of winger where you just give him the ball and he can basically create/score a goal out of nothing. He won Milan the Serie A and Milan might be open if we offer 100-120M euros. He's still 24, the wages aren't crazy and he's a much more complete player than Rashford. I was looking at his stats and he's got better carrying, dribble, assists stats than Saka, Mbappe, Vini. Saka-Havertz-Leao would be a killer front 3. I know he hasn't got the best work rate but I think Arteta can squeeze more out of him and most top wingers like Mbappe, Vini etc. don't work crazy hard. Saka is probably the exception.

Arsenal really need to get some serious funds on player sales don’t budge don’t buckle. Chelsea needed to sale last season and we paid £65mill for Havertz.

Havertz has done well. We couldn't miss the opportunity to see that profile go somewhere else. We don't make much on transfers because our players aren't that good. This is why Arsenal are focusing on investing a lot in buying talented youth. Chelsea, City and Utd have done it for the past 20yrs. This is why you see your Cole Palmers, Gallaghers etc

Hey Charles Thank you for all of your insight. I was thinking that someone should ask Rodri if City didn't want to win vs Man United because, if they did, they would have to play Arsenal in the Community Shield. : )

In order to make Nwaneri's progression smooth we need to promote a couple of peers with him. going from development football to first team is a tough ask, emotionally people you know really well helps. Lewis skelly (although his position is usually 6) would make a good option at left back. If Reiss is off to pastures new, Cozier Duberry is a great shout. I rate Rosiak and Kamara too, but think that they will thrive after a loan. I am unconvinced that we need a striker, Kai looks like he will improve further. His movement reminds me of Firmino mixed with Van Persie. I think we'll be mugging ourselves if we rock the boat there. Give him a run of games and see him blossom. I like Biereth,, he could easily fill Eddies boots if he is off. My pick for a left winger (if Cozier Duberry leaves) is Mickey Moore from Spurs. If Ange doesn't promote him, I would have a chat with his agent. Good feet ,hard working style and natural runs, not a waster of the ball, good height for set pieces, strikes the ball well. He is not the complete package yet, but with the correct coaching, will become a top top player. I would have him as Trossard's understudy any day. We are in 4 comps next season, lets see if we can win the lot. To do that we need a squad of 30, five from the b list.

With regards to selling Ramsdale under his true valuation, I'd rather have in on the bench than him going for cheap (I know it'll not be fair to him). Arsenal cannot take a loss on Ramsdale

I think you are spot on re Nwaneri Charles. One of the benefits of the strong squad situation we're in is that it becomes easier to plan ahead. We don't know if Nwaneri will make it or not but he needs to be given a legit chance. Hale End pipeline is important to the financial model and club identity. If we sell ESR, Nelson and Eddie this summer that's a big loss to the squad on that front. Both City and Liverpool have balanced elite level with developing youth - Arsenal need to match them. Do you think the bigger barrier to that pipeline is the talent coming through, or Arteta's reluctance to trust players not in his 1st XI?

The focus for the window must be on improving our left side. Xhaka & Jesus were essential in rotating with and creating space for both Martinelli & Zinchenko to come inside but Rice & Havertz just aren't that way inclined which has made our attack heavily favour the right side. I wonder if we see a more attacking left back who provides a threat on the overlap to make better use of Rice's ability to cover large areas & which allows our LW get inside more. However, everyone knew Chelsea would sell players last summer and they were able to get decent prices for the likes of Mount and Kai. So it is possible. It’d be absolute criminal to sell Ramsdale for £15m. You couldn’t even sign an Academy player for that amount let alone a full international. We need to remain resolute in discussions.

With an evolving squad I trust Arteta will also evolve in how he uses the players at his disposal...again Pep is a good example...if even star players such as KdB are off he has no qualms in not starting them or making a substitution...will Arteta be willing to do the same with Saka or Odegaard?

Charles, multiple sources suggest LB is one position Edu & Co seek to strengthen this summer. Is this true? In my mind, LB is one of our strongest positions. Zinny, Tommy, Timber and Kiwior all impressed me at various points of the season. Why would we seek to bring in another player? Unless we expect to lose two (or more) of the above-mentioned quartet, this makes no sense.

This 23-24 squad was only strong enough to fight for the two biggest prizes, if we recruit well we can have a second team good enough to handle the cup competitions too in 24-25.

In terms of who we sign in the midfield, I know a lot of the conversation is leaning towards Guimeres, but I just can't stop thinking about how perfect our midfield would be with Frenkie De Jong. Just thinking about a potential midfield 3 of Rice as the 6 and then De Jong and Odegaard ahead of him would get me very excited as an Arsenal fan. I feel like we would have a really strong chance to win the Prem and maybe the UCL also if we were to bring in De Jong to bolster our midfield. I could get behind Rashford if it's who Mikel and Edu think is best for us this summer. If Mikel thinks he can get Rashford back to his best then our attack with any combination of him, Saka, Martinelli, Havertz, maybe a new striker or right winger, Jesus, and Trossard is frightening for the rest of the league and in Europe given that we could rotate pretty comfortably and not have too much of a drop off. Side note, I wonder if Pep will want to try and win both the French and Italian Leagues before he retires, however many years in the distant future that may be. It seems like the only gaps in his trophy cabinet are the other 2 top 5 league titles and domestic cups (Italy and France) since he has basically won every single competition on offer in Germany, Spain and England. Could easily see him going somewhere like AC Milan or Juventus in Italy or PSG in France. I wish he would go to one of those teams this summer rather than next summer haha.

If you can’t get what you want for Ramsdale, then you don’t sell him. He should be #2 and getting cup games

If Man City are found guilty it will be a Lance Armstrong moment. Records will be erased and while you cannot I expect, retrospectively award others, next season at the very least, the points deduction they start with will end their league ambition. Personally if they are found guilty of FFP breaches over a number of seasons, then the point deductions should apply for the same number of seasons. I will also be interested in seeing if any clubs who missed out of Europe qualifications, take out legal actions to try and recoup some of the losses caused by City's cheating if that is the case. As for transfers, in the process we trust. What they decide is fine by me.

Move// empower Gabriel Jesus to be the cover for Saka when saka is out You then have your 9, your complete midfield depth, and cover for saka and only spent on 2 players. Also gives room for youth academy players to move up pecking order

Hello Charles, I disagree on the fact that we should get less on Ramsdale based on the fact that clubs know we need to sale. 1. We don't need to sale, he has a long term contract 2. If we don't get that right amount, we can keep him for another season. 3. We are heading into the biggest season of our time, where now, everyone knows we must and need to win it and having two top keepers is great. We will lose further value, but we would have gained more if Raya got injured and he came in and we won the title. He may not be happy but we need to stick to our game plan, that mentality is why we are not a strong selling club. Arsenal knew Chelsea had to sale but Chelsea still got 60m from us.

Would you rather have an experienced player with high wages or a young(ish) player with low wages? We need someone that can challenge Saka and Martinelli, clearly in Artetas eyes, Nelson is not that players, so letting him go and invest a bit of extra on a more experienced player (26-28 years old) would be ideal. I'd be keen to sign Rashford mainly cause of his premier league experience and age. But if he is going to cost as much as Sane to bring in then Id rather have Sane even if he is a little older. Tough one! but Im sure Arteta and Edu will find the perfect fit. On another note, do you see Viera playing on the wing/fitting in the starting 11 in the new season?

Re Ramsdale to Newcastle then we are talking about fee under £30M, but when we are linked to two Newcastle players in BG and AI then it’s £100M per player. Very odd as Newcastle regressed with those players prominent for Newcastle.

Rashford is an interesting character. He has a big heart and he is very much a positive from a community standpoint. That said he is rather lazy on the press. I'd rather have a slightly less talented lad who presses and hustles at a higher rate than Rashford. With regard to City I will be shocked if they are found guilty of any charges. If they are I'm thinking they'll be rather mundane and trivial. There are lots of comparisons to Lance Armstrong. The league would be wise to see what happened to the Tour's brand after Armstrong was taken down.

Sane was an absolute monster against us in champions league. Just sayin.

I think if Viera leaves there will be a huge opportunity for Nwaneri

This is Jermyn from Ghana For some reason, i think the coverage that Arsenal transfers gets is decidedly negative. And I do not know why, maybe because those covering are Arsenal fans and innately fear the worst. An example for me is the coverage of Ramsdale vs Rashford. When it comes to your coverage of Rashford you speak about how difficult of a deal that it would be to do for Arsenal given the wages and the length of the contract and United unwilling to do business unless its a big transfer fee. When on the face of it, Rashford is an underperforming winger, who has been inconsistent for a decade and just come off a terrible season and United would be lucky to get him off the books. Because at his age (27 in Oct) there is no resale value for whoever takes him. Juxtapose that against your coverage of Ramsdale ( who signed a deal last season so has 4 years remaining, 26 y.o), his best days are in front of him and teams would be looking for a GK of his quality and so have to pay the fee. Otherwise they will not get him. In England, I have realised the media will make or break a player and his perceived value and I think Arsenal journos (who are Arsenal fans, such as yourself) have to do a better job of talking up the club instead of the glass half empty approach.

Rashford and Ramsdale are in similar positions, both unhappy, both have long contracts... but do you think Utd will take a cut price deal? Never. Arsenal must be tougher in the market. We can't keep buying high and selling low

Hi Charles. As far as Ramsdale's concerned, he's still a quality GK and Arsenal must demand nothing less than the fee we bought him for. The low balling NEEDS TO STOP! On Rashford: Talented but risky. We've already got Trossard and Martinelli who can do what he does. I'd use that money on Olise/Eze instead.
