Thank you for making the vid. I feel for you. This same truck was gifted to me BRAND NEW. I ran it about 10 minutes and didn t event bash or jump it. Then the front shock blew apart. I contacted A frame and they sent me everthing to rebuild EXCEPT THE SPRING. So I wasn't even able to ride this thing at all. So after 4 months I drove 130 miles to a hobby shop that helped me. These guys were EXCELLENT! Very knowledgeable and had the parts in stock! I'm so happytobe able to run my brand new Vorteks. Schaefer's hobby Shop. St. Louis, MO 63126

Being a complete RC rookie, I initially only wanted to know what all the controls on the spektrum controller where and if I needed to worry about them before my first run. I skipped over the first part about double checking the axle to hub screws and the steering alignment. After one LiPo's worth of driving, my right front wheel flew off! It was that screw. Also, when going back to double check the rest of the wheels, I noticed rubbing damage to the ends of both front axles. I assume it happend because the steering end points were not set appropriately from the factory and they were rubbing on the inside of the steering block knuckles. The left knuckle was also completely broken at the lower screw attachment area. Probably from crashing it without the proper steering end point settings. Superglued that back together...maybe it holds?! and then ordered all new anodized aluminum struts and suspension linkage parts from Arrcat. Wish I had heeded your advice from the beginning. Thanks and look forward to watching more of your videos!

Thank you very much. I was shocked to see my car had broken parts from the factory. Definitely worth looking the car over. Almost every car I get new or used I tend to give them a look over.

Could definitely use some aluminum upgrades, but when it comes to the A-arms, I always tell folks to stick with plastics. Your A-arms are the one part from chassis to wheel that don't have some give to them. Everything else has a bit of wiggle room, meaning when you make an impact, the only part that DOESN'T give is your A-arms (until they snap) If you swap those with aluminum, you'll transfer that breaking point to another component (usually something more intricate/expensive) I'd highly recommend to go with plastic A-arms from "RPM." They come with a 100% warranty, so when you do snap them, you just ship em out, and you'll get your replacements in a few days. All you gotta do is pay a few bucks for shipping.

Is calibration different from binding? If so, how do you bind the car to the transmitter?

  • @UDRC85

Turn radio on, Center your trims, Steering and throttle set to 100%, Brake and avc to 100%, Turn radio off, With radio off turn the car on, Press the spektrum sign on the receiver( you will need to remove the radio box cover to see it) orange light will start flashing, Hold bind bottom on the radio and power the radio on at the same time, the receiver light will turn solid orange and the radio will turn green.

  • @UDRC85

You could check the steering trim on the remote. Turn the steering trim to the left a little bit at a time till the car drives straight.

Power car on, then radio but turn full right and full break. Turn steering to right and use the avc knob to adjust the steering end point. Repeat for both.

@@UDRC85 that's what i done, maybe i went a little too far on my end points, will do it again and see. Would having the avc knob turned half way have anything to do with it? 1st time having avc built in on a car.

@@mattpotts8561 put steering and break to 100%, turn steering full right and full brake while turning the radio on. Turn full right, turn the avc knob to the desired travel. Release the steering then put avc back to 100% do the same for left turn.

@@UDRC85 Yes its not very good if you have go into program mode on the tx every time you need to adjust the dual rate setting whilst you are out running the car. Hopefully there is a way you can turn the steering rate up or down simply with the st rate knob.
