Mesh was too loose out of the box imo. Def a great fun RC want to try prolines because theyll balloon and give more control in the air possibly. Hoping bodies are avail soon.

    So essentially all the 3s arrmas are the same underneath the hood ? Gears and pinions ? So tire size in thought shouldn’t make a difference but other smaller things can add up like design and torque relative to the overall size , wheel width and length . I’m having a hard time choosing . I would like any of them and , thinking vorteks , thinking big rock, thinking granite and typhon . I’d say typhon looks like the smoothest driver but I like to go over fresh cut grass and backyards . I think it will do it but the big rock has to do it best if I’m looking at the wheel base and all seems more wheels down to me .

  • @AMain_Hobbies

    >I want fast, low to the ground and hard to roll The Granite is more on the high-sitting truck side. Go with Big Rock (long chassis) or Vortek (short chassis). In rough off-road conditions the Big Rock is more stabile because of it's larger footprint and stance. For on-road conditions, it's the opposite, where the short Vortek chassis allows it to powerslide, wheelie and do donuts pretty easily. That's my experience anyways. Hope that helps. -Brett

    Don't know the answer on the pinion gear, although from our testing, the Vortek gearing is already on the edge of it's limits in terms of motor heat. Unless you live in a cold climate environment, I don't recommend gearing up. For the paddles, that is going to be tough because Arrma doesn't offer anything and the truck requires the less common 14mm hex. You might be able to buy Arrma wheels and glue paddles to them, but I don't know of any pre-mounted paddle tires made for the Vorteks. -Brett

    The largest battery with the removable plastic block removed is 158mm, that's with the battery right up against the rear transmission housing. At the front their is no more space at all to be had.

    How can the vent hole in the tire be helpful? Seems to me that water would now get into the foam. Watching you put it through it's paces shows it can take a bashing without breaking. OutsourcedRC had a few issues with it. I'm getting a different feel for this RC Truck now.

    The tire vent hole allows the water to escape, where a wheel vent hole doesn't. When driving in water, water will get inside regardless of where the vent hole is. So by having the vent hole on the tire, on the outside, centrifugal force will push the water out of the tire vent hole, and help the tire/foam dry faster and last longer - in theory. -Brett

    @@AMain_Hobbies, If you plug the vent holes that come on the inside, doesn't that keep water out of the foam? Isn't the point to keep the water out of the foam in the first place? Those holes on the outside will allow water to get in.

  • @AMain_Hobbies

    @AMain_Hobbies

    @@robertwren2289 The point, from our perspective, is helping people prevent ruining good tires. Honestly, water is safe for foams, but leaving the foam wet is not. It's not a water issue, it's a drying out issue. When the vent hole is on the wheel, water can easily get in but cannot easily escape. With the vent hole is on the tire, the water cannot easily enter, but it can very easily escape. It's just two different methods to achieve the same goal - prolonging the life of the tire. I didn't believe it myself at first, but vent holes on the tires (for high-performance vehicles) works really well to eject moisture, dust and any pebbles that would otherwise sandpaper down the foam. -Brett

    Go for the higher sitting Granite or Big Rock. The Vorteks can do it, but with shorter tires, shocks and ground clearance, is less equipped to absorb harsh landings. -Brett

    @@Jonathan9727 Oh yeah! For quick backflips, wheelies and lots of responsiveness when you pull the trigger, the Outcast is your truck. The 4S is really awesome for what it costs, but they're hard to find in stock. The 6S is good too, but much heavier, so maybe not as quick and responsive. -Brett

    There is a slight clicky but I think it's just the gears settling in. Some of the diff gears are a composite material but with huge teeth to handle the power, and they seem adequate. The gears do need to seat together after a few runs, and kind of mate together if that makes sense. I do not think the click is an issue. -Brett

    Vorteks comes stock with 18T pinion. This is only possible because of the heatsink and fan. Even only without the fan the Vorteks would be overgeared. For Comparison: The Typhon 3S which got the same motor, is way lighter and has way smaller tires...and comes stock with 15T !!! So actually the Vorteks should have come stock with 13T Pinion to be save from overheating. Well, as he said, going over 18T for offroad bashing is suicide:)

    For you sir. Senton or vorteks i cant decide what to get. I am kinda leaning for vorteks because i think overall in different type of road and terrain vorteks has the edge than the senton. But senton is i like the design bexause the wheel is in inside but its too small

  • @AMain_Hobbies

    From our experience, the Senton is a great truck but probably not as capable, or as proficient in rougher terrain as the Vorteks; the Vorteks is wider, with a bigger stance and offers more stability. The Senton Short Course Truck style is great for smoother surfaces and it's especially good for racing, because the tires under the body allow more "bumping and rubbing" and provides exciting racing. Vorteks on the race track will probably be less exciting, although it will perform well. Hope this helps Emsky! -Brett
