I’ve got both setups. I run a 27 tooth on the max 6 1650. Its a powerhouse. I ruin tires on 8S in one run. The best case scenario the foams internally rip, but tire doesn’t doesn’t explode. Gearing up with decent fans “not expensive game changers” keep it cool. Power to weight ratio is key with anything. Max6 15$ fans speed gear off a felony and 75-130c batteries 6s. Seems to be the sweet spot. For me anyway. Loved the video!

cheers mate.. I have gone to a 15t on my max8 suits the right technical tracks we bash at .. think brad with the max6 is still running 21.. I'm running 65c overlanders ..but will be getting some 140c rapids .. 😎

On the race track the max 8 in sensores mode will mop the floor with the max 6 combo. The new max 8 g2 with 4278 2250kv sensored motor is a rocket ship on 4s and 6s. Best combo for 2022 imo.

The exb is a work of art, absolutely stunned at what it can shrug off🤯

jeff nicholls a lot of people seem to be having trouble with the rear diffs, I guess we just got lucky with ours... sent it to hell and back, cracked a hub and sheared a screw in half - happy days👀👍🏼

@@RCunexttuesday some exb are OK it's initially an issue with shims.. wrong ones were used in alot from factory .. my mate stripped his diff down after first run to find barely any oil .. he hasn't had issue with his max 6 powered exb so far .. I had an issue with steering rod vibrating the hex screw undone ..easy fix ..👍

Hi mate ..cheers .. i am running heat sink with fan on motor and extra fan on esc .. all good .. will mostlybrun a 5000 6s pack through to safe cut off without thermal cut off interupting .. 15t works well 👍

Couldn't resist it anymore, just ordered a 1/8th Kraton EXB. Planning to install exactly the same electrics as my Mojave EXB - Max8/2200KV with 14t pinion. I've been watching loads of videos on the Kraton and it's great to see them actually being raced for a change!

I was using 15 most the time on 6s ..If u use the 4s backflip tires on 4s on the 2200 kv setup u can use a 16 pinion which provides tons of low torque and a good top end.

Hi Paul .. it's a spektrum RX TX that comes stock with the kraton 8s .. gyro is integral in the RX .. it's a spektrum dx2e with AVC dial so the gyro can be adjusted from TX .. I'm quite pleased with it .. 😎👍

Thanks Jeff. I'm in the market right now for a new transmitter setup. I was looking at Spektrum (mainly because I use it for all of my planes), but was unsure if I want to bother with the AVC or not. I like the idea mainly for a smaller, less stable car.

@@steeldingus2657 search for 'radio link' .. fair price and apperently very good transmitter with no latency. . Comes with 2 RX .. one with gyro one without . Multi model memory .. I also use spektrum for my planes .. got about 60 speky receivers 👍

What heat sink and fans did you get for yours? Thanks!

I got the max6 but using the 2200 4274 motor with 18tooth pinion no problems am using duel 28k rpm rocket fans tho

good esc and motor combo.. all I would warn is the 2200 gets hot and cooks .. 18 would work well for high speed stuff but will get hot with low down pulls ..I would drop to 15 or 16 to keep the amps and heat down .. 👍😎

@@highflying82 Iv had no problems mate it don’t get hot I got the noble nb4 and it tells me temps of the motor worth the temp sensor worth the fans on it don’t get hot

No I didn't fit the cap pack. Haven't had any issues over 50+hrs run time 👍

@@russellparker4568 I am currently using a 'macgregor mg5921hv' 20kg / 0.12s .. it's been bulletproof so far and it has had a lot or whacks and hard use .. also with ur max 8 .. up the punch level to 5 it will make an enormous difference in performance

I have a motor fan so it stays cool .. no problems with thermal cut off 👍

It as far as I know .. it now has a couple of fans on the heating to keep cool 😎

2200kv should run 18t enough torque and power

Overall the max6 combo with the 1650kv is a stronger setup slightly heavier but if your considering running 8s then the weight to power would equalise .. even on 6s the max6 has a phenomenal amount of grunt .. if u are thinking 8s yes will run it bit the rear diff would probably be short lived .. on 6s the rear diff and front are recommended for 10hour run time sevice intervals .. Arrma recommendation .. another option is the 2200 kv max8 motor running a max6 esc .. more power then max8 combo on 6s but 8s would burn the max8 motor up .. all in all if u can afford the max6 combo then that is the way to go 😎👍

@@Nathan-qt2zi that would work just fine 😎 .. prob best to use a 15 or 17 tooth pinion with the stock blx 2050kv setup I'm using 12tooth on the 2200 max8 .. u must check your rear diff on exb to see if the arrma mod has been done .. the update was for them to fit lsd (lmtd slip diff) plates to spread the load in the diff ..if the mod hasn't been done arrma provide the update kit to fix the shim issue .. without this mod the diff will strip inside 2 runs .. any other info u need just message me 😎👍

What is the better of the two I went back and forth and ended up getting the Max6 1650 now I'm wondering if I should have got the max8 if I got the max 8 I would have been wondering if I should have got the max6 lol it will be here tomorrow going in my Talion
