Thanks for being brave and letting us get raw glimpses into places like this. Really like your positive attitude and respect as well. Somalia for sure got some severe challenges to overcome still by the looks of it. Hope they can prevail and get their country back on track.

Thank you for sharing the video of Somalia with me. I found it really interesting and informative. I appreciate your bravery in filming the country and bringing attention to its beauty and challenges. I would love to see more footage of the streets around the coastline, as well as learn about the experiences of women and children in Somalia. It's great to see the country working towards rebuilding its infrastructure, but I also understand that there are areas where safety is a concern due to the lack of trust. I hope that Somalia can continue to progress and become a more stable and welcoming place for tourists to visit. Let's hope that with time, the country can overcome its challenges and showcase all the amazing things it has to offer.

This is one of the best up and coming travel vlogs!! Keep them coming! I think having all of one country in one video would appeal to many. I really respect the police for doing everything they can to truly keep things safe there. Even checking your camera for explosives and not letting you back in the green zone when you were late; they need to be strict because of the awful things that have happened there. I appreciate how respectful and honest you are, and for showing us how it really is in Mogadishu! I love people - and the resilience of the Somalis are incredible.

@@AleSalvino One thing you need to understand is that, Somalia and its people do make claims on Somaliland which is false...If you think somalilanders are part of Somalia, they wouldn't have pursued re-recognition. Any way, glad you made it safe from Somalia....Somalia is not a good country for foreigners...Only locals live there...Yesterday they killed a lots of Emirates who were training their Soldiers...Their Gov and their people are clever to create and organize Alshabaab...Then they get Aids from Europeans for Alshabaab. Its just politics of Somalia...YOu don't understand how they work.

15:43 The man who is speaking, the interpreter, lost his children because the old house in the video where they lived with his family was destroyed, but the father is safe. The house in the video was destroyed. It is an old house built by the Italian colonialists; it was a symbol of the city, but when the government fell, the people settled down not repaired. This video was recorded before the event.

It’s one country, but the reason there’s division is due to instability in Somalia and the weakness of the Somali government. At the moment from the perspective of the normal citizens Somaliland, they don’t feel safe in uniting with an unstable Somalia and be sucked into the problems of Somalia which they are now free from for the most part. From the perspective of the elites and politicians they take advantage of this anxiety/fear of the people and use it to encourage their own agenda of independence which would only benefit the elite. In terms of culture and as a people, there is no reason for division. It’s the exact same nation, same ethnicity, same language, same religion etc.

A country is safe for tourists if women can travel alone. I don't recommend it, no matter what they say

No country is safe for women to travel alone without some risk of becoming a statistic. Even every city/town has varying degrees of risk for women in "safer" countries like Sweden, Japan, or the US.
