    Agreed, the second Mateusz looks very promising for the future of WSM. If he truly dedicates, he can probably become the best given how strong he already is at a relatively light weight and young age.

    Ray Donlon yes it’s strongmen but if you don’t see that log lift looks like weightlifting I can do nothing for you. When the arms are under the shoulders, it’s a raise which is harder than a press. Again if you don’t know this...

    I was watching Larry Wheels train log with Halfthor. I swear he's already done more than this in training. Is this a different more difficult log or is Wheels just a press machine.

    The log they used in this comp is a little bit wider and longer which makes it a little bit harder to get up. The log Larry and Thor used was a 12" log were this one is in the "leviathan" category (over 12" wide). Some folk try to replicate it as much as possible but you can't buy the same log (from my knowledge any way) too train with.

    Zavickas pressed the MUCH heavier Austrian Oak 4 times at the Arnold. He would press this one 15 times, he did it once in WSM.

NONE of the other competitors could lift it even ONCE, neither Shaw nor Thor nor anyone else. After that year they made the Oak lighter so other competitors could lift it at least once. The multiple reps in this video that the other competitors lifted is the lighter log, they could choose between 2 the much heavier being the Austrian Oak.

    this log is ooden and quite a bit longer than the steel log Larry as training ith. Both factors mae the lift more difficult. But yeah since ressing is rbably Larry's best disciline it's reasonable to believe that he can reach or surass the level of most guys in this cometition.
