Why should people obey this armor ban when it is used like stun guns for defense . Criminals will not of course obey this or any law. The result of this law is to make people who obey this law and are good citizens more open to criminal attack .

The problem is it’s not going to get to the Supreme Court until 5-10 years from now. The lower courts just drag everything out as long as they can hoping for an eventual shift in the SC.

They need to pass a law that prohibits the governor from being protected by armor, like bulletproof vests, bulletproof glass on the governor’s home and office, and armor on the governor’s vehicle. As a retired truck driver, I used to have to go places that were not safe, I at times would wear body armor. I figured that if New York didn't like body armor, I could start carrying a side arm, or they didn't really want their freight. My bosses knew I had the armor, and they quit delivering in New York.

We need to stop all these exemptions when laws are made. Doesn't the constitution say this is not legal.

Sure glad I got to see NY two times back in better days. Because I wouldn’t step one foot in that place today if you paid for all my expenses.

It's time the SCOTUS just step in for certain states like NY, CA and strip them of their judicial power. What should happen is the state should be told no new gun law/s shall be legislated until those law/s meet constitutional muster by the SCOTUS (not the NY judicial branch). During this time the judicial staff in these states should be sequestered by the high court and ordered to get in line with the high court rulings or be removed from the judicial branch and charges be brought for violation citizens constitutional rights.

Great, and in about 20 years the Supreme Court will do... Nothing.

To me the banning of body armour that Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation is akin to banning ALL Personal Protective Equipment used in industrial situations. that PPE is there to prevent injuries and that is how the Lawsuits from FPC and others should be fought on the grounds that Hochul's legislation is stopping the use of PPE,. and that every owner of body armour who is injured because they cannot use it due to Hochul's legislation should sue the hell out of Hochul personally and her administration to the maximum extent.

NY should ban other means of self protection too, like condoms, seat belts, and fire extinguishers.
