LEGALS "This is a crime scene and you're obstructing". 1) There's no "Blue plod tape Act", no legislation about protecting a crime scene - other than common law,for CSI & safety. Here my golden question is highly effective ... "which section of which Act is that"? The silence would be deafening. You must move if you are not allowing a constable to move around within a crime scene, but it must be a "crime scene" ie. a criminal offence must be taking place or have taken place. Shouts of "it's a crime scene you must leave simply because your filming nearby isn't supported by any Law whatsoever. 2) "Obstructing a constable in the execution of his duty" requires a positive act by you, always involving physical involvement by you. Filming isn't interference... otherwise even dash cam in the road and every shop cctv would be "obstructing".

I am not commenting on the lawful arrest, and I believe that for the most part the police service does a good job. However, why let yourself down in a simple public interaction. Why are the little insecure ones always wanting to throw their weight around? - I will push you around, and give unlawful instructions,. To make it OK after I have abused my position I will say "That is all I asked you to do" "I am being polite with you" You weren't when you were pushing me around ! - Is it any wonder, that the public is starting to film and question the police service? The police service has only themselves to blame.
