What I most want from FFG is an Imperial Light Cruiser reprint.

I thought that might’ve happened without FFG announcing it, because in the past week I received 2 notifications from the website for my LGS that the Imperial Light Cruiser was back in stock, but when I checked the store page they were out of stock. I don’t know if the online store sold out of them immediately, but I suspect it was just an inventory adjustment error. I’m surprised and disappointed that FFG hasn’t announced reprints for Armada - not just for the Arquitens. There’s nothing on the FFG Upcoming page except the Wave 8 ships. My LGS has been sold out of most Armada ships since Black Friday and Christmas, so it’s uncertain if and when they’ll be restocked.

Good news, the Imperial Light Carrier has been restocked - at least where I live. My LGS and several online board game stores received ILCs on Friday when the Starhawk and Onager were released. Unfortunately, they’re sold out again. I’m not sure how widespread the ILC restocks were - not even the Asmodee Store has ILCs - and I haven’t heard anyone else mentioning it, so it could only be regional.

This is the ship they should’ve use in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker not the Xyston-class

Then they couldn't reuse the model from Rogue One and would have to rely on creativity and something other than nostalgia.

While I agree because the Onager-class looks much cooler than the lame Xyston-class SD, I do NOT want the Onager tainted by the TRoS. I would absolutely hate if the Onager was associated with TRoS - or the Sequel Trilogy in general. I’m glad that the Onager was inspired by Legends and became canon thanks to Armada. It gives me hope that FFG will pan the Legends river for more gold like the Onager and Starhawk, and Armada will continue, without relying solely on Clone Wars for future Waves.

I might have gone crazy and designed a new wave: For the Imperials the Vindicator heavy cruiser with a fighter pack including the TIE Reaper, TIE/rb Heavy Starfighter, TIE Agressor and TIE Punisher and for the Rebels the DP20 Gunship, the Marauder Corvette and a fighter pack with the ARC-170, the K-Wing, the U-Wing and the Belbullab-22.

R41 over the belbullab-22 the R41 is more important to the rebels being there only bomber at the start of the civil war

I agree Alex Pahl, but the R-41 is a fighter and not a star ship. It would do great if it was put into a set like the Marauder-class corvette.

So awesome to see Wave 8 ships! Love the Starhawk especially, but the Onager looks so much cooler in reality than the pictures

That ship is beautiful! I might have to pick myself up one once I actually do get into Armada. I've been thinking about it for a long time and have watch quite a few videos here on this channel about it. I think you've convinced me to pick it up.

Looks like a great ship! Can't wait for mine to arrive! As for ships I'd like to see in Armada: I think I've mentioned this before, but I'd like to see Assault Frigate Mk. 1s. I just always liked the look of that ship. As for the "Star Destroyer sword": you know, I've seen some Celtic spear-heads that are about the size of the SSD, which the Romans described thus: "Their swords are as long as spears, and their spear-heads are as long as swords." So I can see some very crazy Star Wars cosplayer making a spear out of one of those and carrying it about...which would be crazy, but stranger things have happened!

The other use for Cataclysm is when you no longer have activation advantage, or never had it. Being able to adjust your token based on where ships ended up after your last activation is very interesting. Also, the Star Destroyer Sword is very Transformers, and I love it.

I’ve personally always liked the look of Keldabe-Class Battleship.

That would have to be added with an Old Republic era branch, as well as the Kandosii-Class Dreadnought.

I would like a Dreadnought from the Katana Fleet, to make it interesting let it be the first Armada ship you could use for either faction.

The Dreadnaught HC has long been suggested for Armada but I think fans are over-estimating its appeal. Firstly, it doesn’t look like any other ship from Star Wars, either Imperial or Rebels. That was the criticism of the AFM2 from non-fans because they’d never seen it before. And the AFM2 continues to be the one Armada ship that remains on store shelves after everything else has sold out because no one wants it. Second, it’s unclear what purpose the Dreadnaught would serve in Armada, considering the Rebels already have the AFM2, and Imperials have the VSD and Gladiator. Third, there are better ships from Legends (and fan-made) than the Dreadnaught.

Alex Pahl The AFM2 is “affectionately” referred to as the “Space Potato”. Only hardcore Armada players appreciate it for its ship titles and compatibility with Ackbar builds. To everyone else the AFM2 is a JOKE. And it doesn’t look like a Mon Calamari ship at all. Just because its rounded doesn’t make it MC. I’ve shown my Armada collection to numerous people and the AFM2 is always stands out from the Rebel fleet because: 1) No one recognizes it; 2) It doesn’t look like a Rebel or a Star Wars ship; 3) It’s butt ugly; and 4) It’s not to scale with the other ships. When my friends use my ships to play Armada, they never pick the AFM2. The Dreadnaught would be redundant since the AFM2 is a heavily refitted Dreadnaught, which is superior to the original. What would the point in FFG adding an INFERIOR version of the same ship? The Dreadnaught has a very devoted, VERY SMALL fan base. You’re grossly over-estimating its appeal. If FFG released the Dreadnaught, I guarantee most would end up gathering dust on store shelves alongside the AFM2. If you contacted Shapeways or Mel Miniatures and asked how popular their Dreadnaught custom ship was, I bet they’d tell you it’s one of their least sold custom ships. Given the state of Armada, FFG would be fools to release a ship with such a small niche appeal. If the Rebels “need” more medium ships, a far better choice would be the MC40a light cruiser. It’s the perfect size at 500-600 metres and it fills the gap of a medium-size Mon Calamari ship in the Rebel fleet.

The Onager is nice! I'd really like them to do prequel units - especially CIS ships and fighters (Vulture droids and Tri-Fighters look awesome and I'm also fond of the Commerce Guild destroyers).

by the way, Spinal Armaments or any other upgrade that adds (or modify?!) dice can affect the ignition dice pool, right? ...or maybe no?

So my local game store has had bare shelves for Armada and Xwing products since a couple of weeks before Christmas. Is FFG shipping new product?

man Wave 8 really brings a lot of new elements to the game. A breath of fresh air almost. More so than the SSD and RitR campaign. I bet when Clone Wars releases it will have a similar effect.

I haven't been watching all your stuff lately. Any idea if FFG will be doing reprints of older stuff? I can't get AF or Gladiators anywhere. Not to mention the imperial light cruiser and carrier. I'm sort of late to the game and am missing some really cool stuff

I mean they got approval from lucas film to make this new cannon ship. Why not use it in the film? It would even add to the lore what with the "final order" being old imperial tech based.

At first glance, which of the Wave 8 ships offer more utility for their respective factions? Also it would be awesome to see Kyle Katarn in the Ravenclaw as a squadron and the Rebel Viscount class ship as a Rebel huge ship

Crabbok, I've noticed you mentioning several new rules that are not written on the pamphlet that comes along with the Onager, like Evade taking 2 dice away from extreme range, something about ignition in close range, maybe I misread it, but is there another source for those new rules? Also perhaps Old Republic era cotent one day, like Hammerhead cruisers and Star Forge Sith vessels. The Legends novels are rife with different design names, as are the games like KOTOR I and II.

The katana fleet. Definitely need to see dreadnoughts.

Been trying to go "canon" only due to costs, but this is very tempting.

I would love to see a ventator class star destroyer from the early empire days.

Is it a siege breaker or a siege engine? Also, I'd love to see the Dornian gunship show up as an armed flotilla and Assault Frigate Mark I for the Rebels countered by Dreadnought class Heavy Cruisers, Vigil class Corvettes, and Lancer class Frigates for anti starfighter duty

A Lancer class frigate would be nice. Something realy anti squadron. A lot of dices against squadrons, with limited or no battery armement to compensate

Damn it's bigger than I thought it would be. I expected it to be the same size as a victory for some reason.

I'd still really love to see the Mon Remonda.

Marauder corvettes would be a neat little support ship or a tartan patrol craft, I really, really, really, want to see a Lancer frigate though for the empire, just tearing squadrons to pieces. Rebels need a DP20 Gunship. An MC40 would be cool, but something in the medium size too. the original assault frigate perhaps. A Dauntless would be beautiful. There are so many ships. If the the NJO era wasn't trashed by the might overlord Disney, the Nebula-class would be a mean one. We have an imp SSD, what about the Viscount Star Defender? There are plenty other imp SSD classes too that would be beautiful as well. Now that clone wars is out, if they make a lucrehulk battleship and/or control ship my heart would be complete.

I say yes. No reason you can't cross eras, like having the Imperials fight the CIS.
