I can only imagine all the high school kids you're inspiring! You should join Jujimufu for challenges outside your sport; all the videos with Larratt and Mitbø are awesome, funny and fascinating. It would help grow your fame...and your sport. Good luck to you. Hope to meet you someday at a comp. Also, consider using (most of the time) a bar that spins for wrist curls...as well as plates that have no extra holes (perfect weight distribution) most of the time. This will put the focus on a nice even rep and allow better focus on the element being trained (strength, mass, muscular endurance, tendon and ligament density/size). I say most of the time because clearly doing it this way has specialized value by adding mini spikes in the force required, like when pulling. Poka

I've been following arm wrestling for awhile, lot of Devon Larrat and exposure from other greats, but I have to say you and your brother have put the final nail in the coffin. Now I'm training and trying to take it to the next level, and who knows... I might start entering tournaments when I feel ready. I'm a long way off but im ramping it up. I'm training heavily specifically for arm wrestling now. I built the same thing Devon showed us to develop our cup and such, it will only get better from here. Thank you both! Body Builders and Personal Trainers must cringe at the exercises we arm wrestlers do. They're so unconventional haha. But that's what i love about it, they can't tell us it's wrong because the sport is so technical we discover what we need to work on and it works! Fuck i love arm wrestling.

Lifting is all about linear movements which are mainly to protect the spine and all the areas of the body that become susceptible to injury during the movements. Arm Wrestling is not linear at all. It's still developing so training methods, techniques and form etc will be fine tuned as it continues to grow. You can't compare the two they're completely different to each other. I've been lifting for years i know of all the intricacies that come with it, arm wrestling really is a different ball game.

  • @SuperMontsta

@@I_AM_3.6.9. The reason for "bad technique" on a lot of his exercises, for example...pull ups, not going all the way down and extending the arm fully, so not a "full rep"...he wants to have tension on his arms at all time. You DON'T want to have your arm extended in arm wrestling obviously...that means you lost. So they're exercising for sport specific reasons, not text book workouts for your average joe

In fact, I've seen Devon Larrat do curls where he doesn't go below 90° with his elbow...just leans his bodyforward and then back, lifting the weights that way. Focus is on his wrist not moving and arm not moving from thst position. Not a traditional rep, but great for the sport. Good ole isometric lockout.

@@JC-ut1iy Simply adding the captions doesn't necessarily mean focusing on the weight. It just means the weight is there for whoever's curious to see. Also, I don't think focusing on the weight means you won't succeed, because how much you're lifting actually kinda matters on how you plan your training, which will actually contribute to how successful you are instead of hinder your success.

@@JC-ut1iy It's possible to maintain right technique while playing around with different weights. Also, finding your limit on non-weighted exercises is probably more correlated with the number of repetitions you can do, which is related to endurance. However, when you focus on weight, you are building power. Given that both power and endurance are very important in arm wrestling, weight should definitely still be a focus.

What muscle are you training doing those heavy curls? Your back ? Your joints & ligaments ? lol... jk ,bodybuilding-wise that's terrible form, but i understand you're not bodybuilding, you're training for arm wrestling, keep it up, it's obviously working.

I don't like using your bacl even if you're an armwrestler. There's world class armwrestlers who use proper form on curls and don't lift silly (search Zoloev training videos) but the closer you get to a conpetition, the more you need to overload the arm.

  • @MrImaghost

Heavy weight lol, you'll have to use momentum no matter what, if i was him i would use less weight in the beginning with strict from and work my way to heavy weight with using momentum, that way you get some benefit from already having your muscle filled with blood ( all the nutrients that being carried to the cell, through the blood), also slow it down on the negative portion of the movement, that's really going to tear the muscle fibers down.

@@MrImaghost If I was to work up to a top heavy weight I would only do it for 3 reps. No point in forcing out reps with bad form. The adaptation from lifting with good form with a lighter weight carries over to the table. That doesn't mean use very light weights, just heavy with good form. A lot of beginners do shit like 50kg seated dumbell curls and moving their back 90 degrees to get it up. IMO saying its armwrestling specific isnt a good excuse and they generally wont get much results with such training. If the best armwrestlers use decent form (engin terzi, khadzhimurat zoloev being the ones i admire) then that is living proof that you can stop ego lifting and control the weight.

Yep,Controlling the weight is the key, you can make 50 pounds feel like 90 pounds just by moving it slower, people get caught up in the numbers, what they need to focus is the feel, you got to feel the weight and have full control of it,swinging it will get you nowhere, because you turned a bicep workout into lower back & front delt workout lol

Strict form curls produce better results IMO. Sloppy curls don't even look cool. Wasting energy producing minimal results.

Tamás Holczer Im all for it because i started when I was 9 years old. And now my son use to watch me lift weights every morning and every night. Then I don't know he just started. I just figured I started young to. An then at 11 I took kajukinbo, ying chug, and boxing and I won tittles in mixed marshal arts, and boxing. Having a child is weird. You see them doing things that you did. That you haven't told them that you did lol. But I'm glad me and my son seen this kid. It's something positive for my baby.

I'm 270, been a professional mover for about a decade, very athletic as well, and if I seen you on the street I wouldn't think too much, just like a lot of others, but I guarantee you'd beat me in arm wrestling right now with your experience and strength.
