Humans on humans is usually because the humans involved are just dickheads for the sake of being dickheads, whereas Fishmen get targeted specifically for being Fishmen. Like, Hachi had to pretend to be a human during Sabaody and got shot like 5 seconds after everyone realised he was a Fishman and started insulting him. Few other things too, like them being stuck under the Red Line and them being devalued to a point where even their royalty is considered "the Queen of a fish tank", pretty much says it all.

Just a reminder Luffy went from beating this guy to fighting Lucci in like 6 months

As someone else said, Arlong is the perfect example of the result of blind hate.Arlong hated celestial dragons about their acts over fishmen but after fisher tigers death,wanting to revenge,he was turned into the kind of human he hated.He behaved to humans with the same way celestial dragons behaved to fishmen.

No his hate wasn’t blind because he was there for what happened to fisher tiger, who he idolized and was a pillar of the fishman community, however arlong inspired hody Jones who is the perfect example of blind hate, when someone asked hody what did humans ever do to him he said nothing, so it’s more about letting your personal hatred consume you affects more than you it affects the next generation then creating blind hatred Unlike arlong, fisher tiger understood this and told his crew not to tell anyone what happened to him thus ending his own hatred along with his life where with arlong his will was inherited by hody thus continuing the cycle

Despite hating humans and before Tiger's death, Arlong even stopped Jimbei from beating a marine to death at the end of chapter 621 in the manga. Shows at some point that he wasn't truly evil, just misguided from his own negative feelings and upbringing.

Tbg Arlong was one of most important villains.

Honestly one of the best villains liffy has faced. Arlong park is one of the best parts of one piece hands down.

​@@roageapex8738live action sucks, it's just to milk the fans. It doesn't bother to build up the emotions and story of the characters. The action is a mixed bag, the ones enhanced with CGI is good, the real life fight scenes are terrible. One moment they look like superhuman like Sanji flying in to kick the fishmen behind Zoro another moment they look like regular humans like Sanji doing slow as 180 and 360 kicks at the fishmen in Baratie or Zoro looking like he is doing a dance with his fight with Mr 7. The story was also changed, I don't mind adaptations to condense into an 8 episode season. Changing the way the characters meet and the order they are introduced is fine, or even removing villains like Don Kreig is also fine. But wtf are they doing introducing Garp this early??? And they had him employing the help of a warlord and justifying Marines and WG's way of doing things to Coby??? That is something he'd never do in the original story. The worst part is he accepted Luffy's dreams and goal of being a pirate!!??? I swear to god they have no plans to make a full live action from start to finish. The lack of Hacchi and the way they wrote Garp's character tells me they won't ever reach Water 7, much less Saboady arc. They know their actors won't live that long nor will their shit adaptation keep audiences for long either so they are just shortening and skipping all the character build ups to sell those key money shots and moments like starting part of the story that showcase some main characters and then later on some immediate goals like entering the grandline and most popularly, Chopper. Without the proper story building I predict the Sky Island arc to be the last live action arc. Sky Island would look good visually with good CGI. Beyond that the live action adaptation will no longer make sense.

Arlong was on the verge of accepting humans, but after seeing how the humans betrayed fisher tiger his hatred came back in full force and resulted in him enslaving namis village and inspired hody jones and the new fishman pirates which set back the fishmen decades of progress It’s not super entertaining but the fishman island arc has by far the most powerful messaging out of any arc in one piece it’s a shame it gets so much disrespect

If Fisher Tiger hadn’t died, he could’ve become a well known advocate for fish man rights, rather than a vicious supremacist.

I feel bad for arlong not because he went through all of this, but because he was too slow on picking up the wisdom of fisher tiger’s words. Arlong and Jimbei was almost exactly the same mentality wise before joining the Sun Pirates, they both hated humans and could care less whether they lived or die. After joining the sun pirates doe, jimbei learnt the virtue of fisher tiger’s philosophy and became less racist and more inclusive while Arlong was too blinded by rage to realise it and then it was too late. A sad tale of two fishmen following the same guy but trying to honor his legacy in two different ways

That was the first time I feeling sorry for Villaines like Arlong. But what he do in Cocoyasi Village is horible. He deserve Punishment.

He used to be my favorite One Piece villain, but Big Mom poke him down from that place. Still to this day, he still got a special place for me.

I agree he’s sympathetic, and his hate for humans may have been just, but ultimately he became what he hated and lost, to his homes savior.

Arlong was always a great villain because even early on he, at least, showed genuine concern for his men, which already set him apart. There was always room to explore his hatred, and Oda did deliver. Too, bad fishman island gave the discount version , with none of what made him interesting.

So sad that he wasnt even able to use haki

Arlong was in long run shaped what One Piece world truly is, how broken it is and how important freedom is.

He used to free slaves and fight Marines alongside with jinbei and Fisher tiger.

I guarantee he’s going to make an appearance again the series

It’s sad to see how he fell. His hate consumed him and he became what he hated most, he got weaker as a result.

Ngl Arlong with Haki would become a killing machine

Fisher tiger was so strong he could toy with Jimbe, a guy strong enough to be a Warlord and fight emperors.

I could honestly root for Arlong if not for what he did to Nami and her village and especially to Bellemere.

The main idea here is the way Arlong has been defeated by luffy, Unlike before his prime, he can move freely and his master Fisher Tiger is alive.

I love how boraclino/kizaru is always threatening when he’s on screen

Arlong wasn't evil, he HATED seeing his brothers and sisters in pain. He had his reasons for hating humans and he turned that dynamic on its head when he was terrorising east blue. Its quite sad if you think about it. he and his fishmen brothers would never be accepted into the lights and amusements of sabaody park, so he created his own.

I still don't forgive him. No matter what happened to you in the past, it doesn't make it acceptable to kill some children's parent in front of their eyes.

Arlong is to One Piece what Raditz was to Dragon Ball, they're both seen as pathetically weak when looking back at them, but they were both still important in their perspective series with starting off the norm for their series moving forward.
