It is the most spectacular place i have ever been to and i am proud to call it the final resting place of my father, who was interred in Columbarium Court 9 this past summer. Thank you for these videos there. Really makes me emotional watching.

I was able to see the changing of the guard a couple of years ago, it is very humbling. The time and effort And training that they have to go through to be a guard is amazing.

Arlington demands much to explore, but you get out what you put in. History is all around you, etched in stone, one name at a time. I’ve been three times and I still haven’t visited everyone I wanted to! Oh, the Tomb Guard? That is the most honored ritual - The Walk. 21 paces up the mat, pause for 21 seconds. Turn to face the Tomb, pause for 21 seconds. Turn, shoulder arms so the rifle is between the Tomb and the crowds, pause 21 seconds. Walk down the mat 21 steps. Repeat. The guard is changed on the hour in winter, half hour in the summer. No more honored post then to guard the Unknowns for no honor is so great than to give all - life and identity - in service.

Interesting fact: legendary group The Four Tops were supposed to be on the ill fated Pan Am flight 103: they were touring in Europe and were scheduled to be on that flight to return to the USA for Christmas; However due to a prolonged recording session and a performance on a British TV show they overslept and missed the plane.

I have been in this cemetery more times than I can count and I have never grown tired of it. So much history and so many stories can be found in these hallowed grounds. I hope you got to experience ft he changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown. Everything the 3rd Guard does is absolutely outstanding.

Thank you sooo much for taking us here! As an 8 y/o D.C. girl I attended Joe Louis’ funeral with my late Godfather. At the wake, Sugar Ray Leonard, who grew up in Maryland, stood by his casket shaking the hand of everyone who walked by. I still remember Muhammad Ali waving as he entered his limousine for the ride to Arlington cemetery. We caught the then new Metro, DC’s subway, to Arlington cemetery, but could get nowhere near Louis’ gravesite. Your Vlog was my first view.🙏🏾🙏🏾

But boy did Hollywood kick up a tizzy , when they wanted him buried with the stars 🌟 literally. And he was next to Joe Louis , how ironic I guess Lee Marvin funny man got the last laugh after all . Thanks for the tour it was great.
