A wonderful presentation of a wonderful vessel. Even the relaxed, yet thorough, walk-through shows just how much thought has gone into this. If something is worth doing it is worth doing right and this is evident throughout. Well done and thank you.

I think they're hard into marketing their own brand so they chose to not acknowledge the fact it's a copy. These sort of situations are why I generally hate marketing people. Anyone who follows the dashew stuff knows he gave his designs to a company... in the Isle of White. Still a damn fine vessel though, not taking away to the builders... but the whole marketing situation is unfortunate. If anything it would sell better if it accepted itself as a FPB clone, as those are unobtainium.

@@LoanwordEggcorn It's dumb and disingenious to think that people that are spending millions don't know what they're getting. Not to mention the whole positive marketing of being the first modern dashew type boat to market. It's foolish imo, some people can't help themselves I guess.

A great walk-through of a clearly well-thought-out and well-designed Explorer yacht! When I was back in the Superyachting industry I would have honestly dreamed of working on something like this!! Certainly a case of starting with 'Form Over Function', so it's become a 'utilitarian beast', BUT ends up looking stunning & beautiful as a direct result of it's purpose... A brilliant synergy. I'm really impressed. Also, kudos for sticking to the detailed, & thorough long-format video... Most people/businesses would shy away & try to create some short, slick (& frankly cliché) promotion video rather than taking the time to show the details & depth of the design & engineering processes. & the numbers show it's worked with 84k views in one month? Honestly, respect.

Wet room and dry locker makes a ton of sense. Something not seen on other explorers like Bering. Adding this to my NBBL. Not sure I like the Utilitarian style. I know aluminium is not super easy to work with so there is a limit to what you can do with it. The interior seems a bit chunky and cheap. I would have thought the interior would be up to par with explorer mini super yachts. I like the unsinkable self righting ability of these boats but.. it comes at a big cost. Why does the shipyard build the interior cheaper than say, Bering etc ? Im a little confused about life raft deployment and the self righting ability of the boat. Im thinking out aloud here so stay with me.. Im thinking about sailing around the world and some of the areas I want to sail have a significant frequency of freak waves. This is why I am considering Arksen. So if the ship is capsized and self rights.. how functional is it after this event ? How does the interior stand up to a roll, and will the life rafts automatically deploy in a recovered roll ? To be honest.. freak waves bother me far more than striking something submerged. While that does bother me esp with an aluminium hull, its the rollover that really scares me. For example a Bering can recover up to 90 degrees.. after that, its most stable position is upside down. How does your hull compare to a steel hull against being holed ? How would one even repair a holed aluminium hull ?

You have an issue with Bering? I would think that if you were concerned with freak waves like the ones in the Indian Ocean, you would want a steel hull vessel that is more stable in the water with a less likely chance to be rolled over. Plus, the issue with aluminum if you do get a hole, is the need to do an emergency at sea patch. Way harder to,weld a patch on aluminum vs steel. And Bering isn't cheap. Their quality was better than Numarine and even a couple of Heesen's. Granted Feadship a d Benetti had nicer interiors, but you also, weren't paying Benetti and Feadship prices nor the tax that comes attached to that name. As far as the rollover hull, that is theoretical. They small scale tested it, but never ship that was fully built and kitted out. They didn't factor that in. If you are wanting to sail the world and have the money like you sound like you do, then look for a broker yacht from CdM, Feadship, Van DerWalk or Picchiotti. If you want a slightly discounted explorer, then Nordhavn has a proven track record of truly going anywhere, also Kingship, Cheoy Lee and Penglai all make excellent explorer and expedition yachts, built in China. I'm just a giant yacht nerd that has worked on yachts and toured yachts, so I am biased based on who isn't afraid to show you everything versus those companies that hides stuff.

@@clifbradley No one builds to my exact standards. One of the biggest issues in yachts is water and mold. If you have an AC unit, you are pumping moisture and mold through your boat assuming aluminium AC Fins and standard ducting etc. I want copper alloy or silver and or alloy AC with copper ac. Bering understand copper pipes but they must go right to the floor so that mold does not grow in drains. Doors need to be a little elevated from the deck so water does not intrude in rough seas. Batteries can combust so the only way to handle that is some sort of ejection system or you lose your ship. Props are still using classic designs despite their inefficiencies and noise to marine life - we have many new prop designs now that lower noise and increase thrust as well as reducing cavitation.. important for full displacement vessels. Meeting EU environmental standards for interior air quality is critical for me too as I am mold and chemical sensitive. Im also wifi sensitive so I have a plethora of protections to reduce that too esp as there is radar and coms unit on top of the fly bridge. Range is critical as is fuel economy because if the world blows up now, fuel prices and even obtaining diesel fuel will be challenging. I have looked at used vessels for ages, I have spoken to many brokers who seem to have no clue about what they are selling. I really like Nautistyles (Nautiguys) new boat and their NBBL they have going.. very practical. For instance their kitchen design is very clever and I never thought to get a chef to design the galley. I want to live on board permanantly (for most of the year), so the boat will not be for charter unless I feel like sharing. Thus having a second owner like cabin is important, and of course.. I want the crew to be comfortable so they can enjoy being on board and of course.. safe in bad weather. Security is a concern too.. pirates are problem in some places I want to travel so that is a challenge too. Things like Side scan sonar, duel radar, and so much more. Size of the yacht is an issue too and whilst big seems better.. its not. Big creates problems with dock availability, legal issues with crew, and increases the cost of yearly maintenance. I have enough to spend ten years on the water if I am careful. After this, its back to land. Im honestly not sure when I would get sick of living on the water but at the moment whilst the world is so insane, having a long range explorer seems a great way to move away from regions of conflict or insane politics. So many issues arise that most never really think about. Most people do not want to live permanantly on their boats either. Sigh.. I should have ordered a yacht back in 2020 when I first considered it. As for Steel vs Aluminum.. I do get this. Bering have a terminal role of 90 degrees. This might seem a lot but if you look at the frequency of freak waves in the indian ocean etc.. 90 degrees might not cover it. Yes I know the problems with aluminium and repairability. I am considering this too and yes this vessel has not been tested which is frustrating because no one wants to buy an untested vessel. All of this causes me to wait.. mean while my money is devaluing whilst the cost of vessels keeps increasing lol.

Hi Richard. We offer a range of interior configurations and material selections. This particular vessel features a selection of veneered, painted and laminate finishes, depending on space and its use (as well as the Owner’s tastes of course). We generally try to keep to a tight weight budget, in order to maintain the efficiency our Owners seek, however we always maintain the required robustness in high traffic areas and of course the high standard of finish. I hope this answers your question, thanks for the enquiry!

Everyone knows it's called Mamaluna 3.) Whatever happened to the crane that was shown to hold a Nemo submersible? That seemed a bit of deceptive advertising in that the Nemo weighs over 3.2 tons. That was one of the questions I asked since I didn't see how that was possible.

We try to treat every customer with the same level of discretion and respect, whether we are providing them with a 28 foot boat, or an 85 foot boat. There is no need for us in publicising the name of the vessel. 3. As you rightly point out, we are able to offer an Arksen 85 with a crane and support systems, to accommodate a Nemo or similar size/weight submarine. The brief for this particular customer did not require this. We will be sure to produce a feature on this, when we get the opportunity to build this configuration.

The shocking lack of interior space for a 85 foot boat is just ridiculous ..... there is no master, no crew, no actual living space on the main deck, no aft deck, no sundeck .... it's not for me, I had a explorer with not dissimilar dimensions with about 4 times the interior space. Still had 6000 mile range though. This is poor design just because they want to be "different"
