My gaming experience Ark SE: - just appeared, died from dehydration after 2 minutes playing - respawned. killed by raptor in 7 seconds later - respawned. killed by direwolf - respawned. killed by crocodile in attempt to drink some water from river - tried crafting something -> killed by raptor - some kind of abnormal sun activity, died from dehydration - tried to hide myself in the cave->sandstorm. no stamina, can not see a fck, overheated, dead - died from hunger at night due to extremely low temperature Darn, I love it! Few additions: - killed by olympic jumping champion crocodile, who jumped from river toward me about 20 meters and literally swallowed me - killed by earth elemental who suddenly appeared out of nowhere And all this shit happened to me in the EASY recommended area :D

I love Ark. Just hate the small stupid glitches sometimes. I was in Drake Nest on Ab and when I used climbing hooks, I glitched into the wall and it yellow screened on my tv. Had to logout and back in. Thankfully I survived.

Basically, you “just need a few little things” Have a server that can handle 20+ people Have 20+ people that want to play the game Have a balanced division between these 20+ people Have these people play at the same time Have them play regularly Have everyone move at the same pace Don’t have a die hard player that tames all the top dinos within the first few hours Simple enough right? *starts crying in corner*

Same my favorite map amazing music

I remember my first time playing Ark, I felt so invested on a PvP server it legitimately felt so real to me back then. It was scary to deal with traitors, enjoyable when you have comrades in arms with like minded goals, groups with mutual respect and distance, and even raiding/being raided felt so nerve racking. I was a clan leader who dealt with traitor randoms that I murdered with arrows and my sword. Then after feeling so betrayed, I had hunted them off to another part of the Island. I had some great teammates who were very wholesome that tried to protect each other and who really wanted to have fun in this new experience by protecting what's ours. Then I merged with a larger clan after mine shrank to 4 loyal members. Those guys respected me and we all even had a cross exchange of loot previously. We one night we're raided by the largest clan on the server while only one member was active and taming a T-Rex. We countered only to make a dent. It felt so fun and genuine that I couldn't replicate on any PvE servers. Then I remember that this is exactly what the gameplay I was going through while I bet my imagination let all the fun parts take over. I do miss those moments tho.

I wish wyverns could land on walls like in the trailer it'd be dope

Not really, you can literally just equip things from your own inventory to your dinos. I mean like the saddles, open up the menu, select the saddle you want to equip, and on Xbox One, you can just push the Right Trigger to equip the saddle to your dino right from your own inventory.

@@JustaDislikeButton Weight. The Whip was, too my original knowledge, supposed to allow you to bypass weight. If you load up a tame with objects until it is full, it gains the movement debuff and you have to take something out to remove said debuff-sometimes this included getting off the saddle. The Whip lets you fill the animal almost completely while moving it at normal speed, at least it originally did. Also allowed more interesting things like knocking items out of players' hands.

Ark is a challenge until about level 9 when you can bola things that chase you, and lv 22 when you can craft parachutes and escape off a ledge from a carno. And wooden spikes to stop things aggroed on you.

Good thing they added structure decay into the game in official PvP servers. If you don't log on and have your player stand within a certain range of your buildings, they are destroyed. It was a means to try and combat players from "pillaring" entire sections of maps to prevent anyone from building "too close" to their bases.

Fun fact, if you plan on exploring around the mountains, carry a spy glass, the spy glass will reveal earth elementals. Also do not underestimate preserving salt, actaully why is preserving salt an SE exclusive among the boomerang and whip? Along wiht fire arrows. Also Mallotops, (I know I screwed up the name but you understand the animal) do not fight them when there is more than one because as a herd they will fight back but alone they will flee, however SE does have two of my favorite animals that is hte thorned lizard and the Mallo, I just like their design. Also another tip, if the Mantises are a terrible threat to you and your mental health, instead of brute forcing it, strike them with fire arrows as under normal difficulty they went down easily.

story time: (TLDR at bottom) Some guys broke through our bubble shield and held our wyverns hostage (our wyverns has like 100,000 HP & 10,000% damage) they said “Let us into your tribe, or we kill them” so one of my dumbass friends did let them in, and they unclaimed all of them, and killed us, we tried to get them back but they kept killing us, then my other friend got captured. I trusted my friend to set up turrets one night but instead he raided the group, I guess he forgot turrets need ammo and power, cuz all of the turrets were off now I eternally hate him, luckily the server got reset, so they don’t have them anymore. But I had that wyvern for about 4 months, so of course I was pissed that he did that, he also got help from one of *HIS* friends. TLDR; my friend and *HIS* friend raided some guys and they raided us back and after he let them into the tribe they unclaimed all our OP wyverns

You... Might wanna cut ties with a "friend" like that. You can pay for DLC, but you can't buy intellect; if you have a tribe-mate stupid enough to open gates to enemies, not prepare defenses and can't handle himself, you might as well bury him in the dunes with his eye lids peeled back, and watch as Death Worms descend upon him. In other words, give him the Mujahideen treatment. Disclaimer: this is coming from someone who hasn't even explored an ocean before, has only ever tamed as far up as a raptor goes for carnivores and has no general idea how to not feel paranoid about walking around the Island; the first time I played SE, I was immediately killed by an electric wyvern off spawn, shortly after unlocking clothes. Putting it simply, I'm very new to the game. ^^"

Why would you keep spawning in the same area/location you just died in? Especially if it was your very initial spawn that you died in during the first place. After like the 2nd or maybe 3rd attempt, I would just spawn literally anywhere else and go about replacing whatever loot I may have lost.

@@TickleMyResearch There is a thing players like to do in PvE servers where they will build pillars everywhere. You cannot build anywhere near another tribe's buildings unless you are apart of that tribe and since it is PvE, you cannot attack and destroy the pillars. So, you'd get asshole players/tribes that would make a base that would maybe take up 1/5th an area, then fill the other 4/5ths of that same area with pillars so other players couldn't build anywhere even remotely near them. Which, doesn't seem like a bad thing at first, but when you have several tribes doing it across almost entire maps, then you'd have new players that would spawn in and literally couldn't build anything anywhere unless you joined one of the bigger tribes. One of the only times I ever played online in an official server and I just quit and left the server after like 20 minutes because I couldn't build a simple cooking fire anywhere to cook up some meat because no matter where I went in the map, I was always just close enough to some tribe's pillar that I couldn't build. It got soo bad that WildCard had to implement a feature on servers called "Structure Decay" which makes any placed structures have a decay timer on them. Which made it so structures would just collapse and disappear if the player/tribe that placed them wasn't within a certain distance of them after a certain amount of time. Though, tribes eventually started to counter that by just having players who's job where to just log on every so often with a flyer and fly around their areas to essentially reset the decay timers on all the pillars they placed.

Ah, yes. I remember my time here. I tamed a lizard, a mantis, several rexes, a moth, a golem, raised 3 wyverns and more rexes. I tamed a few more, but they're not terribly important. Then I took two rex eggs, a camelsaurus egg, the mantis, golem, wyverns, lizard and a freshly tamed 'roo and uploaded it all into Ragnarok. Rinse, repeat, tame a horse, lose a wyvern, transfer to Aberration for a quick pickup. Start from scratch in Aberration, grab a few ravagers, use them as bait to tame a crab, use _it_ to tame a stego, gather a shit ton of berries for the bear, use the ravagers and crab to get your first drake, get 4 more eggs, use the strongest of the drakes to clear out their nesting area, gather eggs for a high level Basilisk, capture the drakes, crab and _one_ ravager in cryopods, bring favorite glow pet, upload them to Valguero, where I am now. Deinonychus was a bust, though. Next stop is either the Crystal Isles or The Lost Island.

Back in the days it was lauched, yes it was pretty hard to start there. Missing kibles, flyers( low level argies would take hours without kible or viable prime meat) no transfers. Nowdays its easier than island not having pegos, itchys and trodons on the starting areas and if you're transfering stuff it becomes a walk in the park.
