And also, what really annoys me about it is that he doesn't talk that way to anyone outside of Hip Hop culture. It almost comes across feeling to me like he thinks that he has to talk a certain way to black guests and I see it as being insulting and racist. If he were to speak the way he normally speaks, of course the guests will still understand him, so there's an almost vaguely racist implication that comes out of Vlad feeling like he has to use Ebonics and slang when he's talking to black guests.

The battle/Clash element is what I loved about Dancehall. All the top dancehall artists used to clash eachother on stage

Most hip hop scenes outside of the US are a lot closer to the indie/underground scenes from the older era, where things were a lot more about the standards of the culture. You call yourself the best, don't be afraid to go out and actually prove it on a regular basis. Certain cats like Mos and Lupe have shown they have no problem with it. Others, not so much....

Your uncle probably mainly talking about the majority of rappers getting aggressive push in the mainstream. A lot of dope hip hop artists now but not a lot of the ones on the radio and BET/MTV...
