    At the end of the day, Silva, arguably the greatest fighter of all time, chose Seagal to train him. What you or I think about Seagal's persona is irrelevant. You're undoubtedly extremely talented if someone like Anderson Silva wants to devote thousands of hours of his time to learn from you.

    "Nobody knows the kick". This is true. I had to train for hours, broken into several lessons in taekwondo as a child before I was able to even attempt that kick. Before that I had to learn the stretch leg kick and the jumping jack technique, along with a variation of push up exercise and what my instructor called "the situp". These are all little known body conditioning exercises. The idea of looking low and kicking high had never been considered before. There wasn't even a term for misdirection before Sensei Seagal invented the concept 85 years ago.

    Seagal does not even realize, Silva makes fun of Seagal. There is a video of his team mocking Seagal and how he is trying to teach him things. He totally did not want anything to do with Seagal, but Seagal kept insisting he wanted to teach him. Silva keeps bursting out in laughter. It is truly hilarious.

    Jordan Wright Lyoto Machida, the karate black belt, did not need Steven Seagal to teach him a front kick. It's a basic move and yes it's underused in mma but not in karate which Machida used to compete in.

    +PaddyMacNasty At the end of the day, Silva, arguably the greatest fighter of all time, chose Seagal to train him. What you or I think about Seagal's persona is irrelevant. You're undoubtedly extremely talented if someone like Anderson Silva wants to devote thousands of hours of his time to learn from you.

  • @PaddyMacNasty

    @PaddyMacNasty

    8 жыл бұрын

    PerfectSnowball I don't think there was ever any claim that he spent thousands of hours with Seagal, just some gym visits and a lot of exaggeration on Seagal's part. Anderson Silva has since denied that Seagal really trained him. He hung out with him in the gym and showed him some stuff, sure, but he was just humouring an old man who starred in films that Anderson probably liked as a kid. Then it got out of hand and he realised how stupid Seagal was making him look.

He does aikido which is pointless in MMA.

A Geezer with an ego like this could NEVER be a fighter or take part in sparring because he wouldn't handle defeat too well... He could ONLY ever spar with his students who'd be scared as fuck to go hard on him.. Judging by this and other interviews he's done lately the idiot has lost all grip on reality - he can't even tell when he's clearly being TROLLED by Helwani.. Does he honestly think there was NEVER any Front kick in any of the numerous Martial Arts out there until he invented then perfected one over the years ??? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • @pandakungfu3533
    @pandakungfu35333 жыл бұрын

    About the ridicule about the "front kick" :))) Segal really helped Machida and Silva with this punch. He showed them one of the options for the strategic implementation of this, showed an aspect. What has been confirmed in practice - two knockouts with this particular punch from two different fighters after work with Segal. Before that, they did not have this. Not a coincidence, but an obvious fact! Therefore, later did not spread much about this, which is understandable - sport and business requires the rules of the game and they need to promote what brings them profit and image.
