This version dethrones whatever I've heard to date. Is it the clarity of sound or just Martha & Claudio & the orchestra? Perfect speed, most versions drag it ritartando & don't seem to understand the hormonal buoyance of Beethovens youth, Beethoven was YOUNG when he composed this. Thanks for the upload.
Martha is awesome. Abbado is awesome. Orchestra is awesome. Camera work is awesome.

She was getting ready to record #2 with Abbado. Abbado was trying to convince her to do #3 (Beethoven) with him. A Brazilian friend told me about the CD that was about to come out (Beethoven # 2 & # 3). I heard her # 3 in Buenos Aires, conducted by Ligia Amadio (Brazilian).

Max I know that it's a TPOUGH THING to do but can you possibly think of something a little bit less of AWESOME to describe this concert performance of hers'? Maybe it was the acoustics maybe?

Ces artistes sont merveilleux ! Ils nous apportent un avant-goût du Ciel. "Paix et Joie" au lieu de ces affreuses guerres qui défigurent notre humanité ....Jamais nous ne saurons assez remercier le Seigneur pour ce supplément d'âme que ces pianistes nous donnent. Merci à eux et à ces orchestres et dirigeants pour ces remarquables prestations, cette véritable communion avec les solistes. Quel bonheur ! MERCI !

What a perfect experience. Martha AND Abbado, and the best performance ever of this delightful concerto. The Scarlatti sonata was a wonderful---and difficult---bonus.
Ms. Argerich, I have been your avid listener since 1965 when as a 15 years old piano student of Warsaw, Poland, I watched your admirable performances, as well as Arturo Moreira Lima's, during the International Chopin Piano Competition.

Yes Santi! Watching this video a couple of years ago, I found it fascinating to see how Marta started the Rondo without pausing more than one second. First I thought it could be a surprise for the orchestra too, but both the concertmaster's and then he conductor's smiles convonced me that the joke was addressed to the audience only. A pity but never mind, there are no close-ups of some viewers. I saw and listened to Marta Argerich once playing this 2nd concert (in fact,Beethoven's 1st). In several passages, her fingers hovered over the keyboard, did not really touch it. A unique pleasure... .-

Osservo la gestualita' misurata di un grande direttore e la confronto con lo scomposto agitarsi di altri direttori che non sanno dare le indicazioni all'orchestra in modo efficace e suppliscono con movimenti spesso inutili e comumque eccessivi.
