Are Your Friends Fake? - An Oregairu Analysis

Ойын-сауық

Oregairu or My Teen romantic comedy SNAFU has been a show that's close to my heart for the longest time. I watched it when I was in high school and to be totally honest, Hikigaya was my hero. I aspired to be like him. This show was a brilliant mix of comedy and romance. But the best thing about the show was its message on what it means to be genuine, something that I struggled with. I'll explore that in this video.

It's your own fault that you don't have friends - the main idea of oregairu

Better to have yourself than have fake friends though. I have good loyal friends, but it’s still true having fake people around you is worst than being lonely.

I just graduated from highschool & I watched it during highschool too. I'm totally like Hachiman except for the fact that he redeemed himself at the end of the show, got 2 girls fawning over him but I couldn't do anything.

Thanks for the analysis. I really enjoyed watching Oregairu. All three seasons. I saw my past self and current self in Hikigaya. Like many others, I’m sure. His view of society and his character traits.

I also watched this during high school and I was the popular kid, it didn't resonate with me until I started going to college. Fake people everywhere. Almost everyone want to gain the social standing but even if it's a small number, there are people who are genuine out there. You just have to keep searching

Great video, i think that was one of the best explanations of that anime I have ever seen, during the first half of the video when you described the rationale behind his way of thinking and how he viewed the world reminded me a bit of my past self and was explained in such a clear manner that I can't help but be impressed. As a video idea, I really recommend you watch fate zero and analyze the different clash of ideologies presented, namely the clash between the idea of a noble life guided by ldeaism against a more realistic and pragmatic approach.

Hey Arthur welcome back! Thanks for the complements. As for your idea, I think it's actually a really good idea. I watched Fate a really really long time ago now so I'll have to rewatch it for sure to pick up on some things since I remember there being a lot of dialogue. This one's gonna be a tough one for sure so I'll slowly work on this bit by bit. Hopefully I have some videos in the meanwhile to keep you entertained!

@ProtagonistRayen I am looking forward to it. When you eventually get around to analysing the anime, I would be more than happy to help you connect the dots and discuss the plot and its meaning in greater detail if you are interested.

So if by existing we hurt eachother regardless of what we do... Then the solution would be to simply learn to enjoy hurting others and live to do that. Got it

So, lets say that hachiman was a real person. That is me but at the point he is at in his character development at the start of season 2. Not gonna change this but I really wish I wasn't like him.
