It‘s so fascinating how a humans brain, personality differs so much even when two experienced similar situations. I‘ve always wondered why victims step into their abusers footsteps, since they should be the one emphasizing the most with people alike or generally people. Maybe it‘s because they don’t know any better. But what I questioned more was how people undergone of such trauma act either the one way (abusive) or the other (emphatic). I’ve come to the conclusion that it may have something to do with the genetic personality we’ve gotten from birth from our ancestors, like a muscle memory since birth.

I suppose that this comic expresses something which not everyone can come to grips with easily in their own lives and that’s dealing with moral compromise. A lot of young adult media isn’t willing to really accept moral compromise as a part of life, when I say that in many ways it’s an inevitability. No one stays morally pure their whole lives. Some times you’re doomed to choose between helping someone and helping yourself and no matter what you choose you will feel bad. Learning to cope with the very rational decision of choosing yourself or not helping when you can’t afford to physically, emotionally, or financially is something you will have to learn to do.

Yeah, it make sense since adult get incentives from this. Children will be obedient and easily manipulated this way, since adult will be the one who determine the right things. Not all parent want to teach this, its similar to telling "santa is not real". Good role model is needed just like the video said. Sadly, many people have to find out themself.

@@pixelmaster9964true that conflicts in Naruto are solved unrealistically, but I wouldn't say Naruto is incorruptible. For one, every single time he succumbs to the Kyuubi's chakra, it means that his will weakened and he lost restraint. E.g. when he nearly becomes 9 tailed in the Pain fight, right after being unable to reply to Pain's moral conundrum. We also see Naruto getting depressed and being unable to deal with his feelings throughout Shippuden until he gets help from others (like when he almost gave up during the Asuma arc, when trying to learn the rasenshuriken). It's not like things come freely for him (well, not until the final arc with the Ashura and Indra BS). Actually, most villains die without turning to the good side, even if Naruto changes their mind to some extent. There are also plenty of relevant character losses throughout Shippuden, so it's not like there were false stakes. TL;DR: The difference between him and Kaneki is that Naruto was able to build an emotional support network in a timely manner, but Naruto's conflicts did result in concrete changes to the world/characters.

@@Gensolink From what I understand, the pain would only be from the centipede making its way to the brain, after that you wouldn't feel it eating away at it since you don't have pain receptors inside your brain. You would probably notice shit not working how its supposed to which is scary in its own way. Also, since the centipede went through his ear canal, you would lose your sense of balance and feel perpetual vertigo and that's honestly just as scary as the centipede eating your brain. Something that I hate about complex characters within an appealing story is that more than half of the people who read/watch it will overlook a character's motives and how significant every precursor leading up to their catharsis or reform actually was. Hell most people don't even identify any of it. I understand thats its simply "each to their own", but man, it really hurts when someone denotes Kaneki's process as a typical edgy shonen transformation.
Counting backwards from 1000 by 7s, if you do the math, you'll make it to 300 eventually, then make it to 20, 14, 6... The final number you get to before passing 0 into the negatives is as far away from 0 as you can be without being divisible by 7 for the first time. One could also do this by doing 6s or 9s without being divisible by 1000, but since the last digit of any number will always change when counting by 7s (7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70 and so on), it forces your mind to stay focused on the task of said math, unlike with 6s and 9s which both have very easy patterns (6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 and so on, as well as 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 and so on). The other possible numbers, being 8s, 5s, 4s, 3s, 2s and 1s, either have very easy patterns of doing the math, are numbers that 1000 is divisible by, or both. Whoever did this scene definitely did their homework, and it shows.
People talk about how this needs a redo for anime adaptation but I could only accept it if they had the same person compose the music/adapt music from the first show. That’s what hooked me first.
Everybody is comparing who had it worse, Guts or Kaneki. When really, Guts would look at Kaneki and probably go, "Keep struggling, kid. It gets better."

Unfortunately, I've put my reading to a pause to take care of other things, but to get to the point, it makes me really glad to see people still covering tokyo ghoul in 2023, especially the original tokyo ghoul, and even more especially kaneki. This series means a lot to me, and so does kaneki, as kaneki is the most I've felt seen in any piece of media, and I've experienced a lot of media. These events may, in the end, be 100% his fault, but hindsight is 20/20 and the deck seems to have been stacked against him, he got played an unfair hand, he could have come out on top but he’d have to be a different person to have done that

One of the best analysis I have ever seen also the Rezero ost is great
Damn, so I’m the manga, Kaneki not only had a choice, but could probably have beaten Jason and Nico with the help of his friends if they had just all stuck together and fought with Banjo. 😢

Kaneki could've beaten Jason right there and alone if he wanted to, he just never wanted to hurt people bc he was soft Kaneki had no chance in hell against Nico though, Nico on another level of power compared to everybody else there around this point of the story although he pretends to be a lackey
The number thing went completely over my head. Never able to get to zero, just one more layer of Jason's cruelty.
Hey there great video I loved every moment. Tokyo Ghoul went viral when the anime came out but it deserved much better. I might just reread the manga because of this wonderful analysis Peace out bro
the fact that the manga was so different but is still so good
I sincerely hope we get a new anime adaptation that truly does the manga justice. Hope a big studio picks it up so the animation is consistent.
Definitely need a part 2
Subscribed! Would love to see more Tokyo ghoul vids! Also love your jjk vids

Great video man
"No one will save you". Damn this line destroyed all my heros fantasies.
I’m glad to have this explained to me. One more time. Because I had read it once before but it seems I had forgotten how great it truly was. Maybe I’ll finish reading it too.
Really good video 🎉
Excellent video I’m really looking forward for ur take on Black reaper kaneki
Tokyo Ghoul was actually my first manga that I from beginning to end as well and I'm pretty sure I was like 13/14 too. Still love it just as much today.

13 years old. Maan this mustive been a life defining moment for you. Good for you bud. You''ll understand depths in life like no one else.
Wonderful. Tokyo ghoul content 💯
As a Tokyo ghoul fan I’m upset that the anime didn’t show what was in the manga that was important info that could’ve been shown a straight sad masterpiece none the less💯
Awesome video dawg definitely subbing
Learned a lot watching this video. The manga itself teach you a lot. Personally it's my favorite manga.
Man... as someone whos never read the manga of tokyo ghoul the subtle differences in story is surprising and those nitpicky stuff is what makes the manga better.
Hearing the video begin with plin plin plon shook me to my core in a way I never could’ve anticipated.
I teared up when Kaneki started crying for his mother.
Based video. subbed.
The thing is that the brain actually has nerves, nor does the inside of your skull. He wouldn’t feel it; the eating of his brain that is. Now burrowing in would be massively painful but the worst of it once it’s inside would be the pressure of something inside the skull moving. The centipede would also probably down, in a long damn time but eventually it would.

i think you mean that it DOESNT have nerves
Fantastic analysis subscriber gained
i love tokyo ghoul so much, it makes me so happy that it’s still relevant. one of the side characters in :re, tooru mutsuki (my pfp!) he was honestly just a big kin for me throughout the time a was reading the manga. i wish that more people would understand the depth of his character, past the “oh he’s just going crazy over their mentor” “he’s just crazy bc of the trauma” and tooru unfortunately falls into the yandere stereotype, where that really isn’t the case. i love them dearly tho. and his journey throughout his gender expression with trauma in :re makes me so sad, as i dealt with similar things (dissociation and how i dealt with traumatic things regarding my gender.) all in all, Tooru is probably my favorite character in all of manga. i may not be that active in the otaku community now, but Tooru will always live in my heart. i’m glad that TG is still traumatizing people with centipedes to this day!
