    I thought the days were long gone when it was possible to work your way from being the very last in the race, by quite a bit too, and then all the way to the front of the race and a fantastic 2nd place. How he does it is beyond me and I really hope he doesn't burn himself up before we get to the end of the tour. A nice long break now until San Francisco in June, so I hope he will be 100% recharged and ready for another battle. Cannot wait.

    Sam is not a slow swimmer. It's just that the other competitors are really fast. For reference, Sam was less than a minute behind Ashley Gentle's swim time.

    I'm still curious how PTO was suppose to inform Sam of his penalty. He should be aware of a T1 penalty sooner than half way through the run.

  • @T100Triathlon

    @T100Triathlon

    It was on the penalty board the entire time and it’s an athletes’ responsibility to check this. This specific penalty would always be served on the run. All of this was covered extensively in the athlete briefing.
