Training to Become World Champion | Sam Laidlow: Uncharted
Спорт
Sam Laidlow has dreamt of becoming a world champion since the age of four when his triathlon journey began. He achieved that goal just 20 years later, winning emphatically at the Ironman World Championship in Nice in 2023.
We filmed with the French star and his family prior to his World Championship victory to understand what makes Laidlow special.
In this series, 'Uncharted' goes behind the scenes with the world's best triathletes in training as they prepare for the toughest, most competitive races in professional triathlon.

One of the most things I love of PTO's Hub it's the love for triathlon and because of wich they can talk of others like Ironman races without any problems. lovely!

indeed, you would never hear a single word during an ironman documentation or livestream about challenge or pto winners, as if the wouldn't exist at all
Really well made video. I like that it's not filled with bombastic music, the footage says enough. Big fan of Sam as well!
Love the filming style! Refreshing new look. Pto best content in the business
Great insights, thanks PTO for promoting triathlon so well!
Beautifully put together video 👍
LOVE the hat Sam. South African Protea’s Cricket.
Top video, great footage ❤
I like the simplicity of this video
Very inspiring. You have all my respect first because you are setting high standards for people not only athletes. Second, I like and love the family spirit and that you are proud of it. Finally, you put in the work in silence. Good Luck Mr World Champ 👌🏼💪🏼
This really is the moments that matter
Love the Springbok hat!
Good luck Sam!
I love the fact that he calls out Ironman. It is so sad that in a sport as globally recognized as Triathlon that Ironman still de-values the professional athletes. There are only a handful of athletes that can make a living doing Ironman races and even then they are not living well without sponsorship money!!!!
2024 - looking forward to it. 😎
Loved this profile of the life and times of a bush hobbit.
Mom is the real star
So focused at such a young age!!!
• Good videography. • Powerful. • Enjoyable. • Love Mum & Dad. • Keep life real.
fier de mon département en voyant ça
Was ready for some Uncharted: Drakes Fortune gameplay 😅
Sam should change the coordinates on the ring to the Nice finish line. Job done 🙌. (Love the cap 🇿🇦)
Sam you are so insightful and at such a young age I am learning far more than about triathlon from you Thank you
Good luck, my wife and I love following you. Break a leg, er or don’t but give it your best.
If he was only as relatable as Sanders
Practice what you preach! And yes clean up your language 😊
PTO makes great races and great content, I love triathlon. But I am so tired of seing people being pricked in their ears with a needle all over triathlon content. 😂
Why do they always poke the ear? Poke the finger. So much easier lol
I find his French accent so hard to understand

what's with swimming in white undies, bro?
I don't care you who can excersize the fastest. I watch these videos for inspiration and LS has that inspirational X-factor... This is just so bland...

LS needs to make money from KZread though, because he isn't going to make much from prize money.

@@rogerc23 I didn't realise Laidlow failed a drug test? Must of flew under the radar that one.

@@marcuswills6569 So really you are actually this daft that you think drug testing, especially in Ironman works? I mean that’s cute, that’s nice, neither did Lance Armstrong, or anyone on the US postal team, neither did Barry Bonds, Marion Jones, the entire East German women’s swim team, Carl Lewis, and hundreds of others who we know cheated from grand jury testimony or later testing of samples with new techniques. Sam’s samples are saved. The truth will come out. I guess he really was just having to move house and miss out on the $100k PTO race right after Colin Chartier got popped. Duh. Even the most uneducated in this topic know drug tests mean extremely little and to follow more of the athletic trajectory of the athlete. So help me out. 1. List all the Ironman races Sam won before his stellar performance at Kona. 2. Then list all his Ironman wins before his world champs. 3. Then since that might be a lot, list put all his global 70.3 wins. 4. And since you will say he is too young to have amassed, you know, any wins at all, then point all all his junior championships and wins for me. By the way, that guy, Lionel Sanders who you say is a washed up loser KZreadr who never makes prize money ? Yeah that, what can only be describe as an ignorant comment. That guy has won close to 40 Ironman 70.3 races, twice came 2nd at the Ironman WC, 1st at the ITU Long course world champs and was the world record holder for the Ironman world record time set at Ironman Arizona. And has won 4 or 5 full Ironman races. So yeah I’d take his athlete trajectory over blood doping, EPO juicing, microdosing feminine butterfly chest tattoo gut emptying druggie Sam any day.
Yawn.. Lionel Sanders videos any day of the week.
