I love when Mrs slocumb talks about her cat😂😂
My all time favorite British TV Comedy. This is one of my favorite episodes. It never gets stale. I got my husband who was terminal with ESRD End stage renal disease, to watch the whole series on video, when he was up to watching it, Usually after dinner. He wasn't familiar with it. Dialysis can be very draining physically and emotionally and painful. Laughter was good medicine for him.. And me too. This series, Monte Python re-runs, Faulty Towers any movie with John Cleese or Michael Palin in it kept Him laughing at least for an hr. or two in the evening. Comedy can help heal.

He really didn't though. He lives with his mother in a 2-bedroom home and told her that they didn't have a spare bed for her to sleep in. So if she wanted to stay at his place they'd have to share his bed and "snuggle up" together, which obviously she wouldn't do. So, Mr. Lucas actually didn't offer her a place to stay but he had a legitimate reason why since there's no room for her

Love this ep. Surprisingly post-modern for the 1970s. Actually reminds me of the Seinfeld ep where Kramer builds the Merv Griffin Show set in his apartment; the characters willingly suspend their disbelief to make the conceit work.

They established that they were supposed to be on an "empty" floor awaiting refurbishment , but obviously they just used the regular sales floor set. Which makes sense: why go to all the trouble of restaging that too. Bet the union overtime would have bankrupted the BBC.

Most of them were dumped halfway through their trips once the bus drivers, etc decided to "lightning strike" and did as Humphreys described and just stopped dead partway and told people to get out. They had different walking times, likely, to get back to the store and Rumbold's taxi driver probably did the same thing. Not perfect but it ties it all together.

@@fbnflaviusbroadcastingnetw6786 On your comment of continuing the lies...they can't help being stupid (libs), and to them, it's normal to keep repeating the same narrative (repetition works to drill in an idea that they don't get). So, the same tactic has to be drilled into those who don't "get it" or they change the narrative to make it sound better. Feminism, also is evil, as it exploits women, but some women don't see it in front of their eyes! I lived in Communism; the political system, being Socialist, is the first form of Feminism (everyone has to be in the work force - forget about the kids because the govt. will steer them right). All they've done is ruin the country. I know I rambled on..

Merrida100 It’s funny, but at the risk of over analyzing it, I enjoy when Mrs Slocumbe is puttering around, calmly setting up her space. If it continued on with tea, I’d be happy. I know they have to keep up the humor but I’m uncomfortable when she’s trying to get Mr Humphries into her bed. She reminds me of someone I knew when I was a child. Then they use that joke, my least favorite part, all the way to the end.
