Where I used to work, there were only 7 of us in the department. As luck would have it, we all watched this show and we all found it to be hilarious. It got to the point where if we needed to speak to each other we would say "Mister...or Mrs ... are you free?" Yes, I'm free". It was a way to keep things light especially if it got busy. People from other departments eventually caught on and later we found out they were doing it as well. It was quite the time at work. Ah, the memories.

one time I was in a department store with a friend and his mother. I was off in another section looking at suits, and he wanted to see me for a moment and called out "Are you free Mr Humphreys" to which I answered "I'm Freeee!" and did the walk as went over to him. much to amusement of store staff who over heard the scene.

I think the reason so many of us return to this show again and again is that the cast members always seem to be thoroughly enjoying themselves, and (after all these years) the pleasure they take in the jokes and in each other is still contagious. I sometimes have it playing at home, like happy background music. What a legacy they left!

The Asian actor is Eric Young (now Ric Young) who is British actor (born in Kuala Lumpur but I suppose it was under British rule at the time of his birth, hence his bio stating him as being British) whose acting credits include THE TRANSPORTER (2002), INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM (1984), AMERICAN GANGSTER (2007), SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET (1997)`and several other films. In real life he speaks with a British accent.

15:53 Mr. Humphries (John Inman) tells Captain Peacock (Frank Thornton) that he has a long lifeline. In reality, Frank Thornton did indeed live a very long life - he passed away at age 92 in 2013. Were he still alive today, by the time of this posting he would have been exactly 100 years old. Sadly, the entire main cast of AYBS have now all passed on. Only two or three of the actresses who played the nurses and secretaries to Mr. Grace and one other then-future cast member are still around.

Am I the only one who seems to believe these wonderful episodes appear as if they are being filmed today rather than practically 50 years ago? Much is far from modern, but so much appears to be quite modern indeed. Perhaps that is who AYBS is quite timeless and ever so funny. Thank you all for all the laughs.
