Thank you Marie and Matthew! I love both of your work. As I’m listening to the health struggle it made me wonder. Do you know about oxalates in food. It’s a new topic I’m learning from my kidney issue. And as I read more on it it talks a lot about how it can potentially give aches in pains and no doc can figure out why. It’s hard because oxalates are found in extremely healthy foods.

Matthew's advice helped me navigate a tricky time in my relationship back when my now-husband and I were dating. My man and I have now been married for 12 years! His advice is gold, sisters. I also want to say how much I appreciate him for squeezing into that short little chair across from Marie in a place set up for petites. It looks a bit too small for him but he made the sacrifice for us.

What he did at the end there - acknowledging the real struggle and shit some people go through, and the fact that even his advice might not work for people in very difficult circumstances - I found this extremely graceful! He's grown so much wiser than before! I can't wait to see what he will have to say about maintaining a marriage, now that his is in one, in 10 years time.

Matt is talking about woman acting 'crazy' and how would that evaporate if they are dating someone who is making them feel safe. It reminds me of Oh Wonder song 'Drive', it goes: 'I remember all the times you made me covered in crazy. Can't forget it, all the ways you played me...' This is so true. I was acting totally different in different relationships. It's very important to realize what is our responsibility and what is not. So we can stop blaming ourselves.

Did you ever read “Viktor Frankl”? How to find meaning and purpose in life. Is not always about finding happiness but understanding that we all find purpose in relationships, in love and in suffering as well. Amazing approaches from this amazing psychiatrist that created the Logotherapy. And in relationships we need to know better who we are, the personalities that influenced our behaviour and how to fit or adapt to someone else. I really like Matthew’s humbleness and smart attitude towards relationships! Thank you Marie for this episode! You Rock.

My heart is so touched with Matthew's sincerity and honesty and vulnerability on this video. The extent to which he acknowledges the human condition and how difficult it is for some to find the right one. I found Matthew's work about 10 years ago. I bought his program, and even went to his live event in LA. I still haven't found the right guy, and it has felt like how he says "is something wrong with me", but it was so refreshing to hear about his own personal story and to hear how those that are on the mountain top can also feel the struggles. I love the part about loving oneself, and the question answer at the end. Thank you Marie, for facilitating this interview and giving the people a voice.

There is a lot of research linking these. Also turn off your wifi at night. a great book OVER POWERED by a Colombia University professor who spent forty years and world specialist linking chronic illness and exposure to non iodizing radiation. Please never use scripted texts!!!!!!!! If you want a real relationship you have to be real! Recently I was talking to two guys via text, they used the exact same scripted text that said, "yeah, let's try to cook a meal together and after we burn through a couple pans we can just scrap it and go out to eat." There were several others. Instant turn off! If you are not intelligent enough to write your own texts, you shouldn't be dating.

Great conversation. But still this version of Self love has flaws. My brain knows that if I have 'to love' myself' as a job, that means I don't. Though, it might be that after 50 years of actively doing the job, it would stop to be needed anymore, like the psychological bucket of self love would be full, and unlike physical cells that need food everyday, perhaps love being Psychological, doesn't. But then, this kind of self love is a process of conscious thinking, which is based on memory (as in, brain cells say- dressing nice is self love and brain cells being physical need Self love till the end.)

I personally feel like I did this in my last relationship. You *might* have to be honest with yourself about the other individuals’ willingness to understand and work with you. I asked my ex for couples counseling 3x in our relationship. First he told me basically he thinks it’s just me. After some self progress and events in my relationship, I asked again and he said sure-you find the counselor, set the appointment and I’ll show up. Truthfully, that didn’t encourage me it would be a fruitful endeavor. Last time, he suggested it-after I sat down with him and told him I believe I wanted to end the relationship. Now I had a bad rebound situationship (one that taught me a TON so I don’t regret it and am actually super grateful for it), but still I don’t regret it. Not saying that’s your journey-now though, I just asked someone I’ve been seeing for 2.5 months if he’d be up theoretically for that if I feel (or he) ever feels the need. And he said absolutely. Just my experience, again, you may be different. Someone committed to misunderstanding you, never will understand no matter how painstakingly you choose your words or attempt to regulate yourself. While with someone who is committed to understanding you and your internal context, you can use the “wrong” or “not the best” words and they still are there, for it all-“right” words or wrong.

My ex partner just did that, I think, looking back, he did express his needs in a healthy way and I did not notice. And then he expressed them in a big meltdown way that I sure noticed this time ;) but it triggered me which triggered him again then bang he broke up and ran. Just like that

Im sorry. That makes me sad. And I know im learning how to be a better person from it all. I listen to Heidi Prieb and she had a great episode on self containment that helped me. Thank you for sharing. I don’t know what the outcome of my meltdown is quite yet. I love how Matthew says it’s about who can handle you the best.

@@jasblossoms I'm sorry also. I understand now how he got frustrated at me and felt ignored and abandoned. And from my perspective I felt super hurt to suddenly go from love of his life to enemy number 1. What a mess relationship can be even tho there is so much love ;) I also watched her videos. It sure brings tons of understanding.

This video was hard to watch. It felt really clear to me that Matthew doesn't love himself. So his brilliant mind was saying interesting half-truths, but on the deepest level it was hollow and missing the point.

@@Yeodoongiiie The way he described love in terms of responsibility, the way way he talked about his personal struggles (but props for being so candid...that was really awesome), and a thousand other little tells I'd need to go back and note one by one if I was trying to make a convincing case. I wasn't looking for it; it was like defining porn: you know it when you see it. But I have thought about doing a reaction video where I analyze it a bit deeper. I'll freely admit it was a strong impression and not me trying to pick it apart piece by piece. It was a very visceral response.

@@pkowalke interesting. to me what i see is a man who is putting on vulnerability as a selling point for his book. he constantly pulls these stories, takes pauses and looks a bit sad, then looks a bit flirtatious. it feels like he really loves the sound of his own words. he even has his wife with him all the time, she always has to listen to him. she had become part of his work, and she doesn't have credentials in the dating market, yet she is given more and more screen time. it makes me wonder why she is working with him and not doing her own thing... does he have a need for validation so much that he needs her as audience always? this man has a script. he knows how to sell himself, and i would bet these more personal stories and him getting candid, is absolutely a script too.

We all have the right to our opinions, I don’t necessarily see it the same but your thoughts and ideas are still valid. I’ve seen this man evolve since his aged … I think he was honest and vulnerable to share things about himself - but you saw something different - no right no wrong, we need to get back to a place of different opinions are A-okay … have a great night!

@thematthewhussey I'm sorry you have suffered from physical pain and tinnitus. It must be excruciatingly painful. I learned from Dr. K that many people with somatic illness like fibromyalgia (I don't know if you were diagnosed with it) have a history of unresolved trauma. He says, he helped cure some of his patients with fibromyalgia by having them do yoga, taichi, swimming, hiking or physical exercise which made them reconnect with their body in a safe way. He also said, there has been studies on people with tinnitus who cured the symptoms after deep trauma processing.
