@@CassieThorpe if you compare the new ones, the handles are stiffer and dont slouch like the older models. The leather body is much stiffer too so that it doesnt slouch. This design was adjusted because the slouchiness of the leather and handles over time on the older models was the main reason for low resell value. If you look inside the really new ones that just launched, they have a zipper pocket in the divider now. Lv quality has been going up. Coussin linings are now leather instead of alcantara, alma BBs now come with adjustable straps.

Interesting. I am a Chanel addict. I dabble here and there in other brands, but the bulk of my shopping budget goes to Chanel. UNTIL 2023. I have purchased six LV bags since June 2023, and three of them were Capucines. One was the 2023 wicker in the BB size, then two minis; a Pearl and a velvet with crystals. All 3 are like works of art to me. It takes a LOT to lure me away from Coco’s House, but those bags really got me! 😊

I bought an ostrich capucines 2 days ago and it’s stunning. There are birkins and kellys in my collection but I think it’s nice to have different styles of bags. Also Fendi baguettes are a must have for me. The birkin is not the end all be all. there’s beauty in many fashion houses 🤍

Great video. IMO Chanel needs to work on quality issues before trying to be more exclusive. They're going to be exclusively at Off 5th if they don't get it together. Savvy shoppers don't want to pay all that coin for mid quality items. Even if Hermes stopped with the game they would still be insanely popular because people know what to expect, great quality that will last a lifetime or 2.

As someone who doesn't shop at Chanel, the quality issues really put me off. Knowing that they used to use gold plated hardware and now they don't is one thing, but wonky stitching is a whole other kettle of fish! I'm just interested in how big the issues really are? Are we talking about 1% or 80%?

I find it so interesting that most Dior bags don’t hold their value on the resale market. It would be so interesting to watch a video about what brands hold their value resale more than others (besides Hermes). Love you Cassie!❤

I use my *preluxz* as a work bag and have had no issues at all. It’s a comfortable bag, fits a good amount and hadn’t lost its shape. With that being said, I also take care of all my bags and don’t carry a water bottle, pens, keys or anything that can damage the interior.

i feel like the fendi peekaboo and baguette should be included in this list they are the kelly and birkin of fendi

Honestly I’d say anything in the selleria style would be the Hermes equivalent, since you can actually link it back to the craftsperson who handmade the bag. They just don’t make those very exclusive.

Delvaux is top class. History. Craftsmanship. Pure luxury. Untainted.

Omg yes mine(authentic) has a odor inside too! Idk what it is bcus none of my other *preluxz* bags have an odor. Called lv and they said it was normal and that I could wipe the inside with a damp cloth.I also thought the lining was suede but it is actually microfiber so I'm going to look up ways to remove odors out of microfiber cus the smell stops me from using it as much.

Fendi tries to position their Peekaboo and Baguette bags to be like their version of Birkin and Kelly's. These luxury brands should close all their outlet stores, as I find it dilutes the brand equity and value; because consumers will think the item will go to the outlet anyway and they can purchase it there for a lower price.

I completely agree. If they’re worried about having too much stock, they should list them at employee sales or have exclusive discounts for people who spend a lot. They could have a sale once a year that you get invited to if you spend over $50k that year.

The Capucines does have some story telling, it’s name after the street in Paris which had the first LV store, the rivets on the handle are inspired from the trunk making heritage, it takes 250 steps to make the bag and they use fine jewellery techniques to create the LV logo. They are very popular but because of the high price point, more exclusive. I think you might like the east west versions! 💕

Saigon bag is easy to get. In multiple colors too. I walked into a boutique in Hong Kong and the SA just showed me whatever I asked for, they had plenty of stock and no games or hoops. I was after the St Louis PM in green and they had it so I bought it. They weren't as accommodating in London though, so I guess it depends where you shop.

I love my capucine. I love unique bags even when it’s a common shape, and the capucine have lots of seasonal collections. I have a by the pool collection capucine, and it makes me so happy. I’ll likely get more in another fun design.

The Capucines is the only bag in my collection that I have 2 of, it's such a beautiful bag! I got a great deal on a Khaki one in Ireland (when the dollar was really strong) for $4200 after vat. Then recently purchased a Crush collection East West MM (the black one with the hammered gold you looked at a few videos back) and I'm officially obsessed with it. Use them all the time. I'd love a B30, but no interest in playing the game.

I love the style of the Chanel classic flap bag but bought a Kate Spade medium Carey bag in light pink and love it! ❤ I don't need a bag to say "Chanel" on it, just love the style of it. Although I can afford a Chanel bag I personally would not pay that much on a bag, maybe a piece of gold jewelry instead. 😊 During the Memorial day sale I got the Kate Spade Carey bag for $130 when its around $400 normally. Love watching your videos! Please do a closeup of your nail designs. They are on 🔥! 😊 ❤

Regardless of brand, I find it difficult to justify over $7000 for a bag in my tax bracket. I've seen a Capucines in person, and, as stunning as they are, the value isn't there if you own more than 1 bag

I’m thinking of the Prada Galleria bag.

I love using an mz wallace or longchamp neo in my daily life, but when I'm on vacation I like something fuss-free and hands-free so I use the kanken mini. When I'm on a date I like to use the Falor Firenze Londra small basket weave messenger bag. When I'm working I use a variety of different styles of backpacks. I have a variety of *gtdupe* backpacks. The ones I use most are the MZ wallace Madelyn, jujube be zealous, twelvelittle Companion 3.0 and the 13' kanken.

I love the p9 Speedys, but I don’t have the kinda money. Instead I got myself a vintage speedy in epi leather.

Please dig into the traits that drive resale - quality and longevity. Proving that your bag will still look decent in 50 years takes time and craftsmanship. Birkins and Kelly’s are valuable not just because this or that celebrity carried it, it’s that the bag that was purchased by grandmother in 1960, has held up.

I think that with Vuitton, their potential iconic bag is the Petite Malle. It is a bag that represents Vuitton well and it is a fruit of the imagination of their designer, Nicolas Ghesquiere. I know there are clients who collects them. I don't know if it's the case for the Capucines. The speedy by Pharrell is too "hype" for me. We don't know if they will produce that bag when he is not the CD. I'm surprised you didn't mentionned the Cabas by Bottega Veneta. It's an old bag, it has always been very expensive and now, they are very very expensive. It has a long lasting power and for now, it still appeal to the historic bourgeois clientele AKA the one that first bought Hermes's Birkin & Kelly. They re-relaunched the Lauren too, the one Lauren Hutton wore on American Gigolo.

The speedy is the bag to covet, it's the closest to Birkin in prestige. Pharrell's 'cool' akin to Virgil and the buttery quality of the LV leather in those primary colours are the bags to watch and buy. It's not quiet luxury either, it's in its own lane. Unlike the nondescript, basic high street looking Margaux bag. It is riding the quiet luxury trend. I can't see it's appeal at all. It seems to be influencer hyped because it's design is average at best.

I think Gucci is also dabbling with making the Bamboo 1947 more exclusive. They've jacked the price from $3,200 to $4,600 in the past two years, and now you can buy them only in the boutique. There's a good story behind it, but the resale value is dismal, so they've got their work cut out for them.

I think one of the things that makes Hermès so special and valuable is *NOT* that it's hard to obtain, but that it's an independent family-owned brand that owns nearly all aspects of their production. There are so few brands in existence that can say that. These brands, ESPECIALLY those owned by conglomerates, should stop trying to compete with Hermès, because they are SEVERELY out of their depth. Most of these brands don't even produce their goods themselves, its all done through contractors. The products are cheaply made with inadequate materials, in sketchy workshops, under questionable working conditions, by underpaid workers, in undisclosed parts of Italy. Luxury fashion is increasingly becoming *indistinguishable* from FAST FASHION. Marketing, product placement, and paid sponsorships will only carry these bags so far, demand will fall and they'll soon be replaced by yet another bag to be marketed as "~*iCoNiC*~"

Look at Joseph Duclos. Their quality is excellent.

I think the Birkin + Kelly have the status because with the story behind them coupled with the Hermes craftsmanship and service is just another level. For me luxury isn’t about it feeling exclusive it’s paying for the longevity. Bottega’s lifetime warranty is close and if Dior, LV and Chanel etc. sort out their quality issues they could apply the same energy

I have had my LVNF for 3 years now and I rarely see anyone carrying the original where I live, unfortunately I am a big fan of the *esluxy* .

When she passed her baby brother's wife threw that fabulous handbag collection straight down the garbage chute. "Ew used handbags"--some people have no idea. Shocking! Hopefully a sharp-eyed trashcollector grabbed them and is at least swimming in iconic designer bags. I want a black Birkin for her sake, but remember them being heavier than I like? Hi Cassie. I’ve been recently made aware about special orders at Goyard. It is by invite only and orders are approved by Headquarters in Paris. The special orders were mostly exotics.

I’d like to add that none of the other bags are as wardrobe friendly as the Birkin. I can wear my Birkins with anything. They are structured enough to be formal yet, the Togo leather lets it be soft enough to throw on with a casual look. I have looked for a replacement for a black Birkin, but there isn’t anything. The Margaux bag looks too stark while the Capucines is too stiff. The Prada belt bag is too “contraption-y”. A Togo leather version of the LV Montaigne could be a hit. Having a top handle bag that will fit all of your stuff, roll with you wherever you’re going and then elevate your look when you get there is almost impossible to find.

I am a Chanel girl all the way - I have no interest in a kelly or Berlin - I would never see why anyone would go through all hoops to get one -plus when you factor in the money you have to spend before hand -ADDS to the price of the bag! Also I would never want just a hand carry bag.

You forgot to add Chanel limited edition bags like the camera one or space ship those bags have Crazy resale price

The Fendi bagette has the story with SJParker the limited editions and good resale, the bag is consistent. I think the one detail that was missed is craftsmanship which is why Hermes stands out and Channel is failing.
