A professional trainer told me that once a dog reaches about 2 yrs old they are untrainable BUT I do not believe that. It's time, patience and human knowledge. I'm still a work in progress but since I can't really afford a trainer. I continue to put what I do know in practice and watch videos like this to help me.

I trained 2 together at 6 yrs old ❤ they only probably say that because it's much harder to break old bad habits & train than to just train from a new puppy & they just want the easiest cases to do as little as possible for their money💰

Yahh! I saw this video and was completely happy for her! She was initially uncertain and NOT in control, and when she started the training, you could see that her anxiety and uncertainty started changing, almost IMMEDIATELY!! Just as the dogs feed off each other, they are also feeding off of HER!! And once her "CONTROL" of the situation changed (with her mindset, mannerisms, and her sense of control with everything that was going on) the dogs did too!! Amazing....... Simply AWESOME 👌 and AMAZING! 🎉

It’s hard to understand sometimes, but in the long run these anxious untrained dogs are actually so much happier when someone else is in control. As long as it isn’t abused of course 💯It’s a tough job thinking they have to fret over every little thing. Trained well, now they can relax n enjoy the scenery!! Thanks n love to DD❤️🤗

My rescue pit was walked on harness before I got her. She learned to pull whoever was walking her where she wanted to go. When I got her, I used a slip lead but she didn't respect that either. I was afraid she would damage her throat. When I switched to the prong collar, it was almost like a magic happened. She didn't even test it. As Dog Daddy proves, the right tools used properly will work wonders.

@@jennifermedrano7918I love the e-collar! I’m looking after a retired service dog (often trained on e-collars). She’s almost 17 and starting to lose her hearing. Being able to give her a sound command right by her head is really helpful. I keep the shock function turned off. She’s incredibly spry for her age and I think it’s because she can run off leash with the e-collar.

DD, a beautiful husky wandered into our back yard today. I'm not a dog person, especially afraid of big dogs. But I got up out of my chair and kinda backed towards him, lookjng at him, but not in the eyes. He was very friendly and sweet, and he obeyed my every command, and followed me back out toward the front of the yard, where he gleefully took off. I closed the gate. Without watching your videos, I wouldn't have known what to do.

  • @ralphmellor1909

I grant that DD is an alpha leader, but isn't that about dealing with and understanding fear? As I understand things, with these dogs it wasn't really about DD being an alpha leader so much as his total focus on dealing with and understanding kindness in the context of dog training. While these two focii (fear and compassion) are very closely related physiologically, my understanding is that there are relatively few humans that _fully_ understand both of them _instinctually_ and in an integrated manner, such that they are able to love and lead beings completely fearlessly. Further, as I understand things, a handful of humans can apply this ability to love and lead fearlessly among other humans, but in DD's case I think his primary skill set is loving and leading the animal species he knows well (dogs, horses, goats, etc) though he is of course a Buddha among humans too compared with most of the rest of us. That all said, that's just my understanding, and I'm not remotely an expert, and I 100% agree that it was truly heartwarming to see what happened. Great job indeed!

Another awesome training video! (my favorite kind) Loved when you taught owner, "You cannot convince them [that they don't have to be afraid or anxious], you have to show them." Those words are golden! Also found your advice that "Every step they take has to be bc of you," very helpful & instructive. These short, verbal "pearls of wisdom" are easy for people to remember & really cut to the heart of the matter. Thanks much for sharing your expertise with us & for all that you do on a daily basis for the dogs of the world & their owners. God Bless!!!❤

Family you life and your pets life will be changed forever when you called Dog Daddy. Congratulations on making the right choice. This is a perfect example to all who have this issue in their family. Save time, money, and the stress of trying other options before you call Dog Daddy. Video after video the proof is there. Someone doesn't have 3.55 million subscribers for no reason. No dog is too old to train. My rescue yorkie is 18, fear/panic based aggression to the point i couldn't stroke or sit with him. I once sneezed when he was on the sofa next to me and he smacked my forehead with his teeth, he didn't bite but the welt was insane! If i left him in a room alone he'd pee or poop in it. After 6 years with me hes trained to sit in his crate while i do his meals (I'd accidentally step on/kick him cos he was always 1 step behind me, it was mostly for his own safety) I also taught him to smile for a treat. He can stay and has good recall. Even if the gate is open and hes outside he will not leave, he knows hes safe now. Tbh most dogs do really want to be good. Taking my hands out of the equation was a game changer. Hed ALWAYS sleep at the bottom of the bed so i started stroking him with my toes/feet, once he started straddling my feet for a belly rub and leaning into me i knew we'd be ok. Took a good year though. Now hes stuck to me like glue sleeping on my bed. Its hard to believe he's 19 this year. 🐶

Love how he tells where your energy is going when correct. There are so much to learn about the behavior of dogs. I watch Victoria, Cesar, Dog Daddy. And many more good trainers ( not Zak George anymore aka Mr. Jealous). I compare their techniques and focus in which situation the technique exactly works. What I like about this video is the example how the dogs energy can feed each other in a way training isn’t possible. And how quick you can change that behavoir. But give doglovers also a good example of what importent is what you can learn the owners. Their are many dogschools where you can learn your dog all kind of tricks. But how to engage with your dog by learning the body language and how you can lead that in a good way. It’s a point of interest. Great Job. Thanks for learning me more and more. Dogs are beautiful animals ❤❤❤ # at the end… hope the camera of your phone wasn’t on😂😂😂😂

My dog has severe allergies and the traditional collars wears on his neck and he becomes bald and severely red there. Vet recommended this harness to help his neck, and it works for him. May not be for training but to grab him it works.
