All I been hearing all week is Dallas is soo deep, Stars are soo deep, Ottinger is the 2nd coming. In Game 1, Oilers owned them for 75 minutes. Took 10 minutes of penalties, giving up 8 shots.

I'll concede, Skins stood on his head the entire game, and Oilers did their usual stupid goal giver-aways. Neither goal was quality, it was Oiler mistakes and not Dallas OP that got those. Plus, 80 minutes of play with zero penalties for Stars? C'mon..

@@Mitch-ui8ps Yep - Canuck fans are so out of it they want the Oilers to be routed. Really? I'm proud of the fact that the only teams to beat us the last two were the eventual Stanley Cup champions. You'd, think, if you had a half decent brain,. you' d want to see the team that knocked you out at least get to the finals! Flame fans will never cheer for us even though Edmontonians are helping build their infrastructure for their new arena when they gave us squat.

Officials are annoying…I am here to complain about the officials last night, and I don’t care if it’s a lame excuse. The calls on Evan Bouchard, Evander Kane, and Dylan Holloway were incredibly soft; furthermore, they refused to keep that standard throughout the game. Stuart Skinner was slashed on the mask by Tyler Seguin-no call. Miro Heiskanen held Connor McDavid’s arm on the boards-no call. The McDavid high-stick was clearly the right call, but the problem is how late they made that decision. There was no indication that they were going to call it, then the replay was played on the Jumbotron. Shortly after, the refs huddled together and made the decision after seeing the replay… ridiculous. Thankfully, the Oilers are a good five-on-five team that doesn’t rely on the power play every night as people believe. But, last night game 1 it’s a BIG KARMA for some Referees who did bets a big money, so the Stars will the game. Well, NOT for the Edmonton Oilers who played smart hockey last night. OILERS in 6 💪🏆

Rule of thumb for being a fan, if the players aren't upset over the calls, you shouldn't be either. Don't forget to have fun while you watch. The Boys move on from bad calls and so should you. Or your fingers are gonna hurt from typing paragraphs in comment sections lol

When the likes of Connor McDavid sing your praises, it's more than just a compliment-it's a testament to your brilliance on the ice. Evan Bouchard isn't just a player; he's a strategic mastermind, navigating the game with intellect and finesse that leaves even the best in awe. And let's not forget the powerhouse lineup surrounding him: with talents like Leon, Zack, Nugg, Kane, and the seasoned veteran Mattias Ekholm, this team isn't just formidable-it's a force to be reckoned with. Each player brings a unique skill set, creating a synergy that's nothing short of extraordinary. When they hit the ice, opponents tremble, knowing they're up against a true hockey behemoth. This team isn't just a contender; it's a roaring beast, hungry for victory with every puck drop. Watch out, NHL-these Oilers are ready to conquer!

There were some pretty close checking moments against the Kings as well. The Oilers of 2024 have not scored like the 2022 Oilers so far in the playoffs. Which makes Drai and McDavid's scoring rate even more amazing. 2 ppg when your team isn't scoring 5 every night is nuts.

Every time I see Zach Hyman play I want to puke. Dubas did a lot of damage to the franchise and that was an inexcusable blunder. Btw, Bertuzzi is not worth more than 4mil a year and Domi not worth 3mil. They're point totals last year says it all. Use that money for a good defenceman. Does anyone want to pay either large cash when they're in their 30's?

The Leafs are just unlucky. They are a good team but are just unlucky to play in the division of death with so many great teams. We need to cut them some slack. Having to play powerhouse teams like Boston, Florida, Tampa Bay multiple times every year makes it really tough for the Leafs to come out of the division.

The leafs are soft. And I don’t mean no hitting or fighting, they’re soft in spirit. The players dont dive and fight for pucks. They concede a lot. THAT’S why they keep losing in the playoffs. Boston and Tampa have been kinda thrashed by other teams. Leafs are a good team but not Stanley cup worthy

It makes it tough, but over the past eight years, they have lost to only one team that won the Stanley Cup. No, they suck. Too many cooks in the kitchen. The difference between McDavid and Matthews is that McDavid makes the team better. Matthews isn’t an individual contributor. That does not benefit the team, but it does benefit as wealth.

Nah, that's just an excuse. The Leafs, as currently constructed, are not built mentally for a deep run in the playoffs. Hayes and Noodles find it odd that mcdavid wasn't jumping around after the ot winner but his demeanor comes from experience the last 2 years of the playoffs. Go watch him celebrate beating Calgary just to see Colorado sweep them. After so many kicks at the can beating the bruins or lightning shouldn't be this big deal for the Leafs, but it is mentally for them. They need new leadership on that team, maybe the new coach can provide it.
