Cats looked slow, they didn’t adapt to the heat of the game and couldn’t keep up with a side who are used to those conditions. Full credit goes to GC and their squad for putting on a great performance against a top side, also great to see some stories of the blokes playing infront of their family and friends up at their home town.

Kingy, I don't know how you deal with Kane sometimes.

Geelong have a huge home-ground advantage, which will see them comfortably in the finals, but they won't have much impact in the finals. They got absolutely hammered on turnovers last night. The Suns are only just getting started with all their first round academy draft picks from last year and the coming years. They'll be scarily good in a few years time.

I think they'll lose a few more there this year. It's not longer the almost impenetrable fortress it has been for a long time. I think they barely make or just miss the 8.

Cats didnt make finals in 2023 even though they were the reigning premiers. Port knocked them off in Geelong in the previous round. I would until at least Round 16 to get a better picture

Geelong could use so many excuses (crazy heat, lack of senior players, unique travel, etc) but Gold Coast played like a team possessed kicking goals for a laugh. It was an unbelievable performance

No excuses should be made at all in reality. North Melbourne put up more of a fight. Even with Hawk, Cameron and Dangerfield out, that side on paper is still superior to North Melbourne. Not to mention GC didn’t have Witts, Walter and Holman.

One team read the How to Play in the Tropics guidebook the other didn't. GC kicked low and hard inside 50. Cats kicked high and long. It's too greasy for overhead marks. This also negated Tom down back. Also GC waited out the back of the ball whereas cats all rushed in. Every time nearly the ball went through hands to those GC players who waited. Yeah they had players missing but I still think they would have lost with their tactics

Kane naming players nowhere near as good as Rankine claiming they're better than Rankin because he said Adelaide overpaid for Rankine.....what a clown.

Carlton don't have a Warner, Walsh and Cripps do not damage you like that because they don't have the pace and footwork to do so.

It's not unheard of for Premiership teams to lose games on the trot, but what sticks out is the credible portion of opinions saying just wait until this point of the season fixtures and saying "told you so".

Gold Coast are good, but no where near a premiership. They aren’t great away from home and need to show that first before they can even join the flag conversation

the Cats kicked 100 points (Kingy ... "they cant generate scores") how many teams have scored 100 points and lost this year looks like even without Hawkins and Cameron, they scored fine ... the backline and the midfield defence is where they fell down

Rowell and Anderson are the best stoppage duo in the league in my opinion

There is a ladder predictor on the afl site. Choose who you think will win each game and it shows you the ladder. It does not look good for Geelong in most scenarios to finish top 4 and with a game or 2 lost at home they aren't making top 8.

The game is going down the tube... How is it that the Swans have one more hardish game in Melbourne against Essendon and the Bombers get 9 games in a row in Melbourne.. The Draw is uneven, and why do low supporter clubs continually head of to Tassie and Geelong.. All about money not fairness... Afl footy is not a fair competition.

Geelong have lost the last 3 because they're playing good teams. They were 7 and 0 because of an easy draw. Now they're playing against genuine top 8 teams and they're crumbling. Same as GWS.

Bowes Guthrie Bruhn Parfitt isnt a stellar midfield lineup. Need Danger and Duncan but both are getting long in the tooth.

I have no idea how kingy has time for kane in Rankine discussion, Izak clearly been miles ahead of Toby all szn long so far, no way to argue against that as GWS getting massively overrated by the entire AFL public when they're another Port or Brisbane. Competitive but won't win a GF.

Cats are more concerned about funding being pulled for the new $4.1M electronic scoreboard at Pork Barrell Park than playing football.

of course when Geelong gets spanked by the suns, "they just had an off night, injured veterans, blah blah blah". when Hawks, a bottom 4 team, got spanked by even less points they got dragged through the mud by the media.
