It's interesting that I was thinking that would be exactly why he not only chose it, but Roman allowed it. However, having some insight into what Nathan has in way of vehicles already and the budget of family costs, etc. I am not 100% sold that he is going to keep it. Unless he is selling off some other family vehicles and talking his daughter into driving his Hyundai and him driving this LC.

🤣 This series is a hoot,1 nail biter ,1 budget buster, 1 responsible buyer, you all bring your own chemistry to the show, Roman's the luckiest one of them all, he gets to spend $$, spot, watch them scrap, scratch, and hear Andre's pain every rock he hits , and Nathans oh this'll need a little momentum down goes his 100 pound right foot as he smiles cresting the rock face , and Tommi just cruising along in the 99 4Runner making the other 2 look tired rolling up the hill with ease, Roman had the birdseye view of it all, the best spot in Moab, it has been awesome, Tommi wins, since you started this series, I looked for a used 200k plus mileage Toyota in Canada ,particularly a 4 Runner and they are out of reach and reason and some bodies looking like Swiss cheese , when your done maybe I'll make an offer on the 99 4Runner Epic video👍

I knew Tommy was going to win as soon as he said rear locker. I have a 2000 4Runner I bought from my ex-wife, (she bought it new), and the first thing I did was remove those running boards. I gained about 6" of clearance in 30 minutes. Everyone was asking me if I had lifted it. Then I did do a 2" lift with Bilstein 5100's and OME springs, Falken 285/70/17's on Level 8 aluminum 6 spoke rims, SPC adjustable upper control arms and a front diff drop. It does not have a rear locker. It has 250K miles and has been in our family for 24 years. It crawled all over the Alpine Loop in Colorado without a problem, and got us back to KY in one piece. Tommy has enough for springs and shocks to put a mild lift on that 4runner if he can do the work himself. Take the running boards off and he would have a great little off-roader.

I love how these guys appreciate their cheap trucks, especially Andre cares about his 10k truck, like it’s a borrowed 75k brand new truck.

So fun! Have a new Tundra with a 3" lift and 35 RT01s. I better get steel front and rear bumpers before I head out west lol. And some belly armor. But great work guys.

If you want the best mix of all, get a GX470. Great approach, departure, and break over angles, small like the 4Runner, V8 like the tundra, and looks great and holds value like the Land Cruiser. You also get a low range transfer case, locking center diff, ATRAC traction control, and a plush Lexus cabin. You can pick up a higher mileage one for a decent price too

id absolutely love one of these series with the 2000s ford ranger, nissan frontier , and the toyota tacoma..the ones with the flip up half seats in the back xD.. the last true compact pickups! my gpa had a ranger , i bought a nissan frontier, and my other grandpa had the toyota tacoma.. all were so damn capable in the mud up here in wi. it amazed me when i was young and in gpas stock tacoma seeing us just glide over the mud, as we saw two fully decked out offroad trucks being stuck shaking their heads laughing as we wave and crawl right by them
