Yeah I totally agree with you oatmeal doesn’t have a lot of protein but it is high in fiber and adding these ingredients really does boost up the health benefits of eating oatmeal for breakfast

Why do people expect everything they eat to have 100+ grams protein or whatever Calling an oatmeal base with 18-20g of protein low in protein is absolutely insane to me Cucumber and lettuce, those are some things truly low in protein...

@starry night cottage cheese is higher in protein though, if that's what you're after, unless you use 3 or 4 times as much yoghurt

@@439801RSI truly understand where you’re coming from, but, I agree with the fact that some people do need a lot of protein for satiety. I (like my dad) have a fast metabolism, and on the days that I just had milk and a no sugar cereal with berries, I’d get so hungry an hour later. Same thing for just oatmeal and fruit. I’d have to add plain yogurt and toasted walnuts, and later on I’d add protein powder, hemp seeds, and a variety of toppings just to make sure I could make it until mid morning for a snack. Some people (like my mom) have a very slow digestive system and can just eat oatmeal and berries and be fine for hours. What I hate is when people on KZread or Tiktok mix cottage cheese, protein powder, and add protein bar prices so one meal or snack has 80 grams of protein. We really only need 1/4 of our body weight in grams of protein per day, so if you’re 120 pounds, you’d be looking at something like 30 grams of protein per day. It’s not hard to get that. No one in a developed country has a protein deficiency.

They don’t say oats are bad because it doesn’t have enough proteins in the morning, they say oats are bad, because it’s a wheat, and it had lectins in it, that would tear the walls of your intestine and as well as is a carbohydrate which converts heavily into sugar, which will spike your insulin, but if you counteract it with Chia seeds, which has lots of fiber along with it it’s not so bad for you . The Chia seeds would slow down the absorption of oats, turning into sugar Anyways, happy health to everyone. This looks good and I will try it.

Cover the glass container with a lid or plastic wrap. Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight. Toppings can be added the night before or immediately before serving. Uncover and enjoy from the glass container the next day. Thin with a little more milk or water, if desired.

Oats are bad because they are high in phytic acid. Our bodies have great trouble digesting them. The best thing to do is ferment them overnight with a milk kefir or yoghurt which will break the phytic acid down reducing stress on our digestive systems. Oh and always buy organic, responsibly sourced oats.

I mix peanut butter into cooked oatmeal. It melts in and totally changes the texture from that unpleasant kind of slimy texture to a really smooth, almost cake batter texture. Then fruits of course.

I bet if you blended the cottage cheese it would be even better Personally I like the taste and texture of cottage cheese so I might just do these overnight oats and skip the oat part 😋

Interesting.❤ I add "raw", uncooked oats, along with chia seeds, flax seeds, & hemp seeds, & whatever else I might have on hand-- other seeds like sesame, poppyseed, whatever, sliced, or chopped almonds, applesauce, blueberries, or a itty-bitty sprinkle of cacao nibs & diced candied-ginger --into yoghurt, & eat it immediately! If I leave it too long, it just turns into mush (& if I take too long eating it, the last of it is mush by the time I finish it) from the chia, flax, & oats. I *_love_* raw oats-- I can eat a whole bowl of raw, uncooked oatmeal (rolled oats) anytime --& combined with all the different textures from the oats, seeds (nuts, fruits, cacao, etc) & yoghurt its extra AWESOME. (I really love TEXTURES of foods. Maybe it's just me. I love ricecakes, too, because they are so CRUNCHY & FUN to eat!) Its one of my favorite meals! And, yoghurt has all the protein, too.❤️ Your recipe sounds interesting & good! Thank you for sharing!❤

Yes! Just make sure you add enough sugar. I saw a lady on KZread make the cottage cheese ice cream and she added a drizzle of maple syrup. A drizzle is not going to cover the saltiness. Then she complained it was way too salty and not good. Jeez, I wonder why? 😂
