Yeah but the last few points leaders in the NBA have scored less than 2,300 points in a season, but they miss so many games that they're averages are heavily inflated. Jordan in his final season with the Bulls scored 2,491 points which is more than LeBrons best scoring season. Context is always shown on the court, and pretending someone is scoring 30ppg today, you have to ignore the 27 games they missed that season

You brought up some valid points. Sometimes I think Jimmy puts out these videos to keep the young fans from hating. He used to have LeBron as his GOAT but changed it after researching Jordan’s career. Why is that important?? I think he makes videos like this to keep them from calling him a “hater”. I agree that todays players are better all around shooters because they put up higher volume of them. From Junior High to College they have no coach pushing back and trying to teach them fundamentals. AAU and NIL make it to where coaches are afraid to coach a player and piss them off. They know the player can always walk. It’s not even a total bad thing that they do practice jumpers if that’s the game the GM’s and analytics kind of forced on them and they do it better than ever. Where he starts to lose me (and others who want to talk about “bigger bags” & better athletes is that one, better athletes has never meant better basketball player. Plenty of athletes throughout history who never did much with their skills. The other thing that I’ll keep saying until it gets talked about more is that….all it takes is watching a few “Saqutin’ a Fool segments and you’ll see the steps these players get away with. The “gather” step wasn’t a thing until like the last 5 years are so. The Luka and Harden “step back” is a travel almost every time. They lift their pivot. I get it, my brother and I used to laugh at those old black & white videos from the 50’s and 60’s of the players dribbling with their hand on top of the ball. I was like, “I’d have 6 steals a game against these guys.” That is until I was told that if they put their hand on the side of the ball the ref would call a travel. I remember in the 90’s when players started getting away with it more by then and only got called when they got the hand under the ball. When is the last time you saw someone get called for a carry?? Then you have to mention hand checking. If any of us went to play at a local park or gym are we all out their calling fouls for hand checks? No. In the 90’s or 00’s at some point they said no hand check but at least allowed the “arm bar”. Why couldn’t players be allowed to start doing that again?? The players voted like 5 years ago about their number 1 complaint and it was the defensive rules. They don’t even like it. It’s silly. Is it elite that almost every starter for the Grizzlies score 20+ against the Lakers? Or something else??

Yes, technology is better, but more talented? How are they more talented if they only play one single way, every shot they make is practically a free throw and if they go to the paint they just have a free lane, how is this more talent? Yes they score more, but of course you are going to score more if all you do is run from basket to basket hoop give ball to other team, hoop repeat. I barely watch the NBA now a days, it's just the same damn game over and over again, everyone plays exactly the same, it's not like in the 90-2000 where there where teams built only on defense like the Bad boy pistons or balanced teams like the Utah Jazz with Malone and Stockton, the lakers with kobe man those where great teams because every game was different, yeah maybe MJ or kobe where the ones driving the basket but you never knew how the defense was going to act, their response, etc. Exactly why you watch old highlights from any great scorer and they look so amazing and acrobatic, highlights from today is just a bunch of 3s and uncontested dunks.... Boring sh!t

I'd copy what I worte in the original video to say my opinion: I’m sorry. But not agreed at all in all this opinion. The NBA is limiting defense in favour of getting buckets. And that’s because NBA is a product. The have to sell and need the show for that. Only basketball purists usually enjoy defense and to fight to get the last bucket. You have the proof in international comp where some of this offensive phenoms got wrecked with tighter defense rules. The key wasn’t simply to adapt to a smaller court it was that they were complaining to the refs a lot because they are accostumed to get some fouls that doesn’t exist anywhere else. Heck, even in the last olympics where KD, Lillard and the rest won gold they were complaining about fouls everything and suffering to win. And that’s why a lot of international players say that is easier to score in the NBA and prove it. I think offensive phenoms from the past with this kind of approach and the ultimate greenlight will destroy the competition like superstars from today. That’s why, to play well outside need to call the “old” players.

If Jordan played today 50 points a game ! If Labron played in the eighties 18 to 22 points a game!
