For me all the stereotype about Islam and Muslims shattered in a short period of time. These people were the friendliest people I ever met. I still talk to them even tho I am, 9000 km away. After a while I got curious, I bought not one but 2 Quran. I learned more about Islam and I can say that Islam is the closest religion to me. I didn't convert yet, but I am not against the idea. Much love to you brother. Consider this: If you feel close to Islam and accept the message as the truth, then you would convert for God, not for the people. If you stay firm and hold on to it, it might not be easy in the beginning, but trust me, God will be on your side - as you have come to truth and accepted it, fearing your Creator, not His creation. This strength to not give in despite societal pressure is what has made Muslims not buying into this liberal agenda and that's one of the many reasons why Millions of people across the globe are converting to Islam. Salam to you and may Allah give you the final strength and conviction to do that - what will be undoubtetly the best decision of your life. If you're still unsure, there are dozens of videos on KZread where former atheists, agnostics or Christians have spoken about how their life has changed after they've converted to Islam. A sense of inner peace, a blue print to a moral and disciplined life and not fearing anyone or anything. Love you brother, for the sake of Allah❤

The next summer he asked me to sing it at the company picnic. 🙂 I did and he told me that he believed Jesus was a great prophet and really enjoyed the song. True...and I know the argument well, as I spent 15 years as a practicing Muslim and was initiated into four different Sufi Orders. At the same time, every single manifestation of every single religion on the planet is mixed with local ethnic culture in some way, shape or form. If "the real religion" is some ephemeral concept in the sky, what does it matter? What matters to most humans instinctively is how that philosophy or teaching on a way of life is interpreted by its respective adherents. If your general attitude and way of being does not align well with the majority of the adherents, you will have a hard time staying. As I began to discover more about my Jewish ancestry and started researching Judaism more and more, I realized that I had more in common with my Jewish ancestors than with the Muslim community to which I had belonged for 15 years and I took a complete sabbatical from the religious life. I just said, "G-d, you know I've been religious for 15 years...I've tried to keep all my prayers to my best ability...I've made trips to countries to seek knowledge in your ways...I've been married and failed at it and...I can't do it like this again. I can't. I don't want to do this all over again." I came to a realization - a very painful realization that left me physically in tears - that in those last 15 years of my life I had been the least happy. And, as I learned more about the Abrahamic Faith of my ancestors, I began to see that my analytical side that tended to question things was far more in keeping with the general attitude of Judaism than that of Islam. Thus began my journey toward Judaism.

@@hudsonstraight8628I mean this with all love, Catholicism is a completely false doctrine. Purgatory is not biblical, completely man made, confessing sin to man (during confession) is by extension blasphemy because you’re putting your trust in man the same way as you would Jesus himself. Although the Bible, the same collection of books Catholics use state, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” 1 Timothy 2:5. Jesus is relationship, not religion! He loves you very much and wants you to come to him. Just think logically, where in the Bible, Gods word, is rosary even talked about? It also states not to pray to familiar spirits! There’s a reason Voodoo shops use Saints, they’re nothing but dead people. Mary has no divine power, she’s not a god, and she’s definitely not God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. She was a beautiful human, like me, and like you. From a cursed and fallen nature. She was just so happened to be chosen to be the natural mother of Christ Jesus. Catholics also believe in baptisms as a baby, but the Bible states, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” How can a baby comprehend repentance, or even committed themselves to iniquity? It just bothers me to see people in deception! Just do some research! God loves you very much. God bless you!

If one of them is untrue then that religion is misleading innocent people away from your religion. You are not truly religious if you are okay with that. Logically, no two abrahamic religions can unite. Each religion is a matrix for the other religion. If you really care about truth, you wouldn't settle for diplomatic middle grounds.

Patrick thank you for laying this all out so well. Many younger people have no idea of the history. It seems obvious that generation after generation revisits the wars of the past and creates the wars of the present. All wrapped in the anger and loss each generation repeats the mistake or the pendulum swings and the oppressor and the oppressed switch sides. The eternal blood feuds between countries, religions, and clans fall under an eye for an eye which could be the justification for the blindness in not grasping the lunacy and ending it. You must have an ethical leader on each side sit down and say we are tired of watching all the death. Until then angry emotional people will incite this eternal misery.

It's human behavior and it's strategic thinking. You start with the stereotype and as you get to know the person, you constantly assess whether they fit the stereotype or what type of person they are. You have to operate on some level of guessing about people. That's the way the world works. But people can get wrapped up in their stereotype and never see the person for who they are.

@vandalianion 'Ubaidullah b. Abu Rafi', the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said: When Haruria (the Khawarij) set out and as he was with 'Ali b. Abu Talib (Allah be pleased with him) they said, "There is no command but that of Allah." Upon this 'Ali said: The statement is true but it is intentionally applied (to support) a wrong (cause). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) described their characteristics and I found these characteristics in them. They state the truth with their tongue, but it does not go beyond this part of their bodies (and the narrator pointed towards his throat). The most hateful among the creation of Allah is one black man among them (Khawarij). One of his hand is like the teat of a goat or the nipple of the breast. When 'Ali b. Abu Talib (Allah be pleased with him) killed them, he said: Search (for his dead body). They searched for him, but they did not find it (his dead body). Upon this he said: Go (and search for him). By Allah, neither I have spoken a lie nor has the lie been spoken to me. 'Ali said this twice and thrice. They then found him (the dead body) in a rain. They brought (his dead) body till they placed it before him (Hadrat 'Ali). 'Ubaidullah said: And, I was present at (that place) when this happened and when 'Ali said about them. A person narrated to me from Ibn Hanain that he said: I saw that black man. State the full Hadith when using it to prove a point. Also remember that BIlal (R), a black salve was the one who performed the calls to prayer. There is also an interesting Hadith about islam's attitude towards racism : Abu Umamah narrated: Abu Dharr taunted Bilal regarding his mother and said: "O son of a black woman". Bilal went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about it, so the Prophet got angry. When Abu Dharr came to the Prophet, the Prophet turned his face away from him. Abu Dharr asked: You turn away from me because of something you have heard about me, O Messenger of Allah? The Prophet said: You ridiculed Bilal about his mother? By the one who has revealed the scripture on Muhammad, no one has any superiority over another except by deeds ...

Also my son being beaten and robbed by 3 immigrants from that very same faith. If this is how these people are enhancing our society. Then I'd rather send them all back to where they treat woman and other human beings like that. Face facts, the majority have absolutely zero tolerance for other faiths or races with views different to their own. Just look at the school teachers that have had to go into hiding due to threats to their lives. If you let too much migration of any kind into one's country. Then instead of assimilating into the host countries way of life. They carry on with their own. Which has no place in western civilisation.

That's because we aren't living in 7th-century Saudi Arabia also western Muslims have been mostly pacified because of the environment they live in. Visit any muslim majority nation, and wear a Tshirt saying you're an apostate , and your head will be chopped off.

I lived in the middle east in Kuwait for 2 years. While there i visited saudi arabia, israel, jordan, dubai, bahrain. I recommend everyone visit and spend time inside a muslim home in some of this countries and have a sit down interview with how they live to really understand a new perspective from those there. Dont trust the media. I did around 5 podcasts in that region while i lived there. I started The Empathy Podcast while i was there living in the middle east. The reason this video is so powerful is because of PBDs experience in the region and those hes talked to and his overall relevant experience.

Patrick, this video has given a lot of clarity on this subject, thanks for your research! Having said that, if KZreadrs from India look at this, they will make you the most popular poster boy on this subject as you have extensively lived in the Middle-East. On a lighter note, I thought you were an Italian from Brooklyn - your accent is so spot on! Gr8 video and thank you once again for making it.

Love that you are taking on Patrick, always important that stereotypes and social consciousness is challenged but it can only be effective if it's done in a way that is holistic and that is done in an open way. Please no hate, nonsense or people commenting to get their name in lights. I enjoy conversation and debate not idiocy and negativity !!

And Pat, it would be great if you could have a muslim scholar on your podcast when islam is bought up so ignorant/false messages from the likes of Charlie Kirk can be corrected, and I'm sure much of the community will benefit for getting a truer understanding of islam. Charlie should not be the one, as you correctly stated, reaching out to the muslim community, as you can see he's not shy of bringing up division and intolerance when given the opportunity. But Pat, well done, love what you're doing
