Are Energy Drinks Bad for You? All Ingredients reviewed and the Science behind the ingredients.

Are Energy Drinks Bad for you? It has to be the number one question asked and probably a close second would be Are Energy drinks good for you? The problem is, it's not a simple yes or no question, therefore I made a video about it that goes over the good, and bad, of energy drinks, which includes a heavy look at the science behind the ingredients and what the ingredients do to your body. More Below.

------------
"Energy drinks are bad!", "Energy drinks kill people!", Are these statements true and are energy drinks bad for you? Are energy drinks good for you? These are extremely common questions and with the mass about of information online, its easy to be misinformed. Even the "Doctors" who make videos on this topic, talk about the dangerous side effects of the ingredients, without telling you how much of the ingredient is bad for you and how much is in the energy drink. Energy drinks are not dangerous in moderation. The Dr's have their own agenda. To misinform people about energy drinks to make them out to be more dangerous than they are. Are they lying? No. But they are presenting the facts about energy drinks in such a way to influence you against them. Let alone even telling you about the health benefits of energy drinks.
In this video, I got over the ingredients in energy drinks quite heavily, giving you the science behind the ingredients and what these energy drink ingredients do to your body as well as how much are in them! And how much are safe. Thats right! A lot of people want to know, "Are energy drinks safe?" and "Are energy drinks healthy?" These are all valid questions and I go over all of them when I talk in detail about the science behind the ingredients. Are there health risks involved with energy drinks? Yes, some energy drinks do pose a risk to your health.

    Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video and happy to bring information to people. As for Powders, i dont review powders on my channel for many reasons. The main one being I have so many RTD to do that going into powders is not something I can handle volume-wise. There arent a lot of people doing energy drinks and caffeine safety videos out there, so I do this. There are plenty, PLENTY... of supplement channels that go over supplements and powders. Thanks again for watching and hope you continue to enjoy the channel. 👍

    I feel like people only point out the worst case senarios, yes people have died from consuming the products, but doing simple math, 32 confirmed cases of death from energy drink consumption have been confirmed, like in all of history. About 10,000,000,000 cans were consumed in 2019 (just an estimate) that means 1⁄312500000 cases end in death.

If someone asked me is it ok to drink 3-4 monsters a week....Id let them know the sugar content is high and let them know the limits. BUT...overall, its not "horrrible"...depending on how much sugar you consume on a regular basis. Even though these drinks are "bad" due to the sugar... everything in moderation. 54mgs of sugar one a couple days a week (plus whatever other sugar) could potentially be balanced out by less sugar on other days. Take it all with a grain of salt though. Other people would chastise me and tell you all the official numbers...Im just saying, you dont need to be extremely concerned. Youre trying to choose the healthier ones. (And my favorite is Coconut Red Bull 😂)

    Thanks for the great video! I love Bang, but recently I've been a little concerned about its ingredients. The drink includes a combination of Sodium Benzoate and Vitamin C. Over time when combined, those ingredients can convert to Benzene which is a known carcinogen that can develope cancer in the body. This freaked me out a little bit because I had started to really enjoy Bang and had been drinking it a decent amount. I was hoping you were going to discuss this in this video. Do yo have any thoughts or concerns regarding Bang mixing these ingredients? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

    No problem! Glad you liked it! Yeah, I mean, these are general guidelines. If you are already used to 80-160 mgs with an occasional 300, at 17 years old...those extra few months arent really going to matter too much. Its not like some magical transformation in your body. But if you were 17 trying an energy drink for the first time Id definitely say stay at 150 and under! Its all a matter of what you body is used to. And, if you were 14, Id recommend you to cut down. It varies. The water also helps as it will also help you process the caffeine and keep you well hydrated.

    As somebody who barely drinks energy drinks as is, I'm not worried. Besides, I can never get past the single can just because of its level of sweetness. It doesn't matter if it's natural sugar, the other forms of sugar, or artificial sweeteners. It doesn't matter if it's a drink, pastry, candy, etc if it's even a little bit extra sweet than I can't handle too much sweetness. I don't know how else to describe it other than my tongue just feels tingly and nasty when having too much sweetness in anything I consume. Plus, I'm a coffee guy. But this was quite interesting. And after a quick check on your channel, unless I just haven't looked far enough, I'm surprised you don't do coffee. Being the caffeine man and all. There are still tons of studies being done on this and its not just energy drinks, but also soda, and not only because of acidity but also because of carbonation. Both of these things are known to irritate anyone with gerd symptoms. Therefore, if these drinks bother your stomach, you shouldnt have them. There still is no conclusive evidence that these drinks cause any gerd or stomach issues. Im not saying it doesnt happen, Im just saying it still hasnt been concluded. Something I'll go into more detail about in Part 2 will be about how peoples bodies react to things. Just because some peoples bodies have a bad reaction to an ingredient doesnt mean its bad for everyone. It just irritates their system. In a very loose sense, diabetics cant have sugar; people are allergic to nuts which are very healthy; Even healthy stuff can be bad if your body doesnt react well to it. Which is why lots of studies are always being done on everything. Thanks for watching and for your good question.

    My favorite energy drinks are Reign and Monster, though I enjoy Red Bull and Bang too. There is no energy drink I dislike because I am an energy drink lover lol. My favorite is the Razzle Berry Reign and for Monster; I like the Ultra (silver canned) Monster and Ultra Sunrise, but what I recommend to everyone: (1) Drink energy drinks responsibly: limit yourself to 2 a day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, but know your limits based on your age, health, etc. and (2) Space energy drinks out over time: do not drink energy drinks within a short period of time, especially a large amount. That is when they become unhealthy. So the notion that energy drinks are unhealthy across the board is not necessarily true. They are bad for you when they are consumed irresponsibly, like when someone drinks several in a day and/or drinking a large amount of them without spacing them out over the course of the day. I also made a video on this too. The ones with sugar are the ones you might want to avoid, and go with the zero sugar ones. But if you must have the sugary ones, it is best to not have more than 1 in a day. That is my message here & I just found your channel and I subbed to you. Very good analysis, bro.

    So a Question, with how "low" the quantity of these "helpful" ingredients are, does that make them effectively pointless? Is it even worth having them? By this point a black coffee would be better overall?

  • @CaffeineMan1

    @CaffeineMan1

    2 жыл бұрын

    When I do my preworkout reviews, I usually talk about effective dosages and what drinks have them and what don't. Since it is preworkout, people want effective dosages because they want it to work for when they workout. When it comes to regular energy drinks, it wouldn't be considered as important BUT that is all a matter of opinion. Guarana seed extract is good for you, so even though you may not be getting an effective dosage of it, a little guarana seed extract is better than none. Another example might be with the B-Vitamins. These drinks usually go above and beyond to give you extra B-Vitamins, but even if they only gave you 15% of your daily value (instead of 100%), 15% B-Vitamin is better than no B-Vitamins. Hope that helps!

    @@CaffeineMan1 yes I didn't know if it was more a marketing ploy or to look healthier than it actually is. The sugar content never really bothered me though because it's pretty much the same as soft drinks. Coke used to have 10g per 100ml where as the Rockstar Juiced Mango I've got says 4.8, makes you wonder how it's legal for McDonalds to sell supersized drinks (well banned in the UK now) but those things were like a bucket!

    @@Ionstorm Yeah, besides there being caffeine restrictions in diffferent countries, there are also sugar regulations, as well as a lot of supplement restrictions, which is why its so difficult for countries besides the US to get the drinks. We dont regulate crap here. They'll let us consume as much caffeine and sugar as we want!

    Curious about the taurine ingredient: If it helps reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, then why are energy drinks bad for people with heart conditions? (I know logically why energy drinks would be bad for people with heart conditions, but taurine seems beneficial for the heart.)

  • @CaffeineMan1

    @CaffeineMan1

    4 жыл бұрын

    Its some of the other ingredients that are bad for heart conditions (primarily caffeine). There isnt enough Taurine in it to treat someone medically. You need a larger dose of Taurine for that. Therefore the caffeine and other ingredients would override any useful benefits on Taurine for a heart condition.

  • @CaffeineMan1

    No your body gets energy from the foods that you eat. Energy drinks help speed up your metabolism to process the food (for energy) faster, as well as affecting your brain (blocking andenosine receptors) to fight off any feelings of being tired. Energy drinks arent a source of energy exactly, they help your body get the energy from other places. Thats the super short version of it.
