    I just started squatting with dumbbells where they hang at your sides and i go heavy and i also use straps as im not training my grip im going heavy with dumbbells for legs. And i feel it a lot in my quads and get a huge pump. You can stil go really heavy. Holding 100 lb dumbbell each hand with straps so your grip isn't the weak link. Thats 200 lb squats right there. Instead of holding 1 like a goblet squat. If anyone has not tried holding 2 try it out you will get a serious pump.

    The squat Adam taught Sal sounds like the Gironda Hack Squat. I read about it in Larry Scott's book. Personally I like holding a BB behind my legs instead of holding the DB but both were listed as alternatives if your gym doesn't have a hack squat

    With the front squat it is not the problem with the wrist mobility but with mobility of upper back If you can extend well in thoracic spine you can front squat with bad wrist mobility Zack Telander has a great videos about mobility for front rack and front squat

    You can hold on to 1 dumbell bulgaria squat holding the other hand on a machine for stability . Fire away to failure. Try that on dumb barbell squat. Lol

    honest question and I'm not trying to bash you guys, but if you advocate for full body training, how exactly are you pulling off a leg day? I'm asking because I'm saving up to buy the super bundle and don't know where to start with it. #respectfully

    Also upper lower is far better than full body because you can do more volume which results in greater muscle growth

    personally I think raising your heels is useless. I can squat a lot heavier weight with a wider flat foot stance with heavy goblets or rack squats

  • @lazo3251

    @lazo3251

    It's not useless, it's an exercise that targets different muscles. Flat feet wide stance is the low bar squat stance where you target more glutes and hamstrings while elevated heels with narrow stance targets the quads a lot more. You don't need wide stance when you already do romanian deadlifts though because you're working the same muscles.

    70lbs barbell enough for squats and hypertrophy??

  • @ELTAxGAMERS

    @ELTAxGAMERS

    3 жыл бұрын

    The weight is irrelevant, it's about what YOU can lift. 70 lbs might be heavy to some people and 70 lbs might be light to some people. Make sure if you want to build muscle you lift heavy, or do much higher reps with lower weight.

    @@SXLLXNBXE do slow reps, some of they keys to building muscle is time under tension(TUT) and eccentric overload (the lengthing of a muscle under load). A great thing to add to exert more effort when using lower weight is 1 and 1/2 reps. When you go to the bottom, start coming up but only come up half way, then squat back down to the the bottom of the squat, and then come all the way to the top for 1 rep completed rep. This 1 1/2 rep method is great for TUT and strengthens the bottom of your squat.

  • @ommba07

    @ommba07

    3 жыл бұрын

    No not necessarily. The issue with barbell front squats is they require a lot of wrist and shoulder mobility, as they mentioned. So, using a dumbbell is a easy way for most to hit the quads For a bench press, there isn't that much difference in terms of mobility required between DB and barbell.

    @@ommba07 haha I actually disagree I think there saying barbell squats Is more effective because you can load more weight My question being would they prefer the added weight or the full range of motion your thoughts?

  • @ommba07

    @ommba07

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@kevindougher6656 Correct, I also agree that barbell squats are more effective in terms of ability to load more. It's not the range of motion of the squat movement. It's the wrist and shoulder mobility required to put the barbell on you properly in the first place. It's not about how low you go. It's just placing the bar on you appropriately and keeping there that can be challenging for people. Note: we are talking about front squats, not back squats.
