Bucks fan here is who SUPER SAD to see Jrue go. An integral part of our roster/one of the main reasons we won in 2021. That being said, if I'm the Bucks GM I make this move 10/10 times. It's time we shift our defensive focus to offensive. I wish Jrue all the best in the upcoming season - even if I don't wish the Celtics the same lol

Because of the unintended consequence of jrue going to Boston, this will go down as the worse trade in nba history. Boston was better than the bucks before they got porzingis, they became even better than the bucks after they traded jrue and allen for Lillard. Boston became no match for the bucks after jrue went to the bucks. Letting the inmates run the asylum is never a good idea. Giannis is to blame for how impossible it will be to win a ring in the next 2 years at least.

Boston has been thin up front for like 10 years. KP is an upgrade over Rob, and they both have injury issues. It's pretty much a clear upgrade though, they'll play some no name guy a lot of regular season minutes and Al/KP will get the bulk of the playoff minutes. Celtics are a very similar team minus Brogdon but upgraded Smart and Rob into Jrue and KP. They'll be similar in the regular season as the last couple years, but in the playoffs when the rotation tightens (and Brogdon/Rob missed a lot of time) they'll be better than they were, especially including another year into the primes of the Jays so those 2 should be slightly more efficient and their numbers should go sightly up like most star players do in their mid 20s. The Celtics will be better and that's saying a lot about a team that has won a ton of playoff series over the last 5 years and last season won 5 straight elimination games. I don't think many people are doubting they'll be a juggernaut if health prevails and even with some injuries they are dangerous.

They got no depth that’s what worries me. The people who guarded Embiid and Giannis aren’t there anymore. Because the Celtics had Horford doubling those guys with grant or Rob Williams or they made it look like they were going to play help defense and that caused Giannis and Embiid to mess up but they don’t got those guys who were capable of that. Kristaps is a good shot blocker but not a good defender. He is good rebounder. Guys like Jokic, Embiid, KD, Bron will have their way with him. But if kristaps does get injured. The Celtics season is over because Horford will be moved to the 5, Tatum at the 4, Brown at the 3, white at the 2 and jrue at the 1. They have no true big man stopper

The hidden part of all this is opening up minutes for Pritchard. Guy can play but was always trapped under veterans. Now with only White and Holiday, Pritchard should get more minutes. I guess maybe one helpful aspect speaking on Jrue being more turnover prone than Smart last season is that his role with the ball likely differentiates on this squad as well as more ball handlers existing on this offense leaves more room to play off ball and avoid the turnovers frequently with the ball out of his hands more. Just maybe it'll allow him to play a but "smart"-er with the options on the team.

Brad will make moves on the bench. There’s a reason he kept trading down in the draft to get all those “useless” bundle of second round picks and they still have control of all of their first round picks except for those late 2020s ones they just moved. We have seen plenty of teams send role players for bundles of late picks when they rather not keep a player’s contract and that player rather be on a contender playing meaningful games. Brad is being aggressive with this team’s window

Lot of haters/copers in this section - "Porzingis can't guard Giannis" Why the F would he? Its Horford's job. - "Horford is old". So does Brook but Horford is a lot more durable. Celtics still have a lot of assets to trade for if they determine that they need another big. - "Porzingis will be injured" He played more games than Dame the past 3 seasons. Remember he sit out a lot too as the Wizards are half-tanking. And his out games are due to just being sick last season. This part just have luck involved. Even the healthiest stars in the league are getting injured. - "Porzingis is not a good defender" He's one of the top 5-10 rim protectors last year. And if Chicago can be an elite defense with Vucevic, why not KP when he's surrounded by Jrue, White, Tatum and Brown on the perimeter? - "They have no depth" they have 5 players that can give you 20 plus points a night. Just make sure you have 2 out of the Jays, KP, Jrue and White with the bench then they'll be fine. - "Holiday is a brickshow in the playoffs" its not his job to be a 2nd option here. He's probably 4th option now. Remember that Malcolm, White, and Al had their career shooting years in Boston and its not a coincidence if Jrue does the same. - "Mazzulla sucks, he don't call timeouts" Armed with lessons, preparation and staff that not have ties with Ime, I'm expecting an improved coach right now. No team is perfect and never will be, but with some thinking, Celtics is the most balanced team right now in the league, offensively and defensively.

Why this works for the BUCKS....the BUCKS definitely needed to improve on offense and it makes sense replacing Jrue with an offensive stud like Dame. The reason the BUCKS didn't make it past the first round last season was that they did not have a second option on offense that's why the offense stalled in crunch time. MIAMI only had to crowd Giannis and make other guys beat them. Jrue is great but Dame is an upgrade though.

You must not have watched many of his games because his shooting was bad pretty much all game of every game of the Playoffs, not just in the clutch. Also, "Giannis panicking in the clutch", I bet you're only referring to the last series against the Heat lol, because he was not bad in the clutch the other two years while Jrue was in Milwaukee. Just listing his ppg in the 4th quarter & OT in the more notable series, 8ppg against the Nets in 2021, 8ppg against the Celtics in 2022, & 9ppg against the Suns in the Finals. Those are pretty good ppg numbers during the clutch time for someone who "panics". Lol

Celtics got better on defense in one position. They lost a bunch of defense on Williams Smart and Brogdon. How does this make them better overall? Jrue will do very well on offense but who will stop very agile bigs like Giannis or Embiid etc. Horford is old and KP isn’t a defensive beast. I see the Celtics weaker in many ways. In my opinion they are making this Jrue trade like a major signing and in all honesty… it’s really not. Jrue disappeared in the playoffs last year and he is not the same player of 3 years ago.
