Hailee van lith has already clarified on a KZread clip that Clark didn’t make that gesture to her but to someone on her bench. I wonder what a person who appears in a swimsuit in sports illustrated is hoping will happen? Do they expect to be worshipped like a deity? Women have thirsted over Chris Hemsworth’s body on TV shows. Why aren’t they called out for sexualizing him? Is there a double standard at play?

She was never the villain; some media outlets made her the villain. She was a basketball player at the top of her game trash talking like most athletes do at any given time. No one should be receiving death threats because she doing what athletes do.

The vitriol aimed at this young lady is unbelievable, in a sport where backchatting is the norm and is done by everybody. Whatever names were hurled at her, she fobbed off, as a defense from those foul mouthed critics, including embracing the “villain” tag that she had been given by some. Her sin was that gesture she made last year, that went viral, that’s all. She DARED direct it to the wrong person.

Taunting is one thing following another player around the court and acting the fool is another. Reese brought this on herself. No other college player has come close to that kind of behavior. The vitriol is over the top but she opened the door for that haters.

Just take the L and move on. Bringing light to the bullies is exactly the wrong thing to do. It'll just make it worse, honestly. I don't care about her antics when winning. We see that all over the place. It's part of the game. But just take the L. I wish her and Caitlin luck in the WNBA, but we all know they're gonna disappear.

Where is the proof of death threats she seemed all happy on live, showing off her luxurious life but all of a sudden because she lost to Kaitlyn Clark now she’s a victim ever since she’s winning the national championship last year her life has been miserable. She sure as hell didn’t show that at all.

The abuse Reese has received has spread far beyond insults. Last year, fake AI nude photos of Reese were circulated online. Reese didn't say she was the villain she said “I’ll take the villain role. "I’ll take the hit for it, but I know we’re growing women’s basketball" But instead of being upset that was the villain she accepted it because she knew it would grow women's basketball which is why I feel like rather than criticizing her we should appreciate the fact that she accepted that villain just to put women's basketball on the map. Oh and as far the sexulization comments ya'll say she did that to herself but all she was doing is being herself and making money what's wrong with that and it's sad that people hate her so much that they make ai nudes of her. And ya'll are okay with that. Yet nobody points out what caitlin clark did. Caitlin Clark trash talked plenty of times. She waved off one of the players of South Carolina. But when Angel Reese trash talk she's classless she's not acting her age. I hate the fact that y'all are getting mad at her for playing victim it went like this she was asked a question she answered it she got emotional because her teammates were sticking up for her. And when did she make an excuse she literally admitted that she rolled her ankle but she still continued to play and when they asked her about that she specifically explained I'm not going to make an excuse even though she did roll her ankle. She shook Clark’s hand and sang her praises in the press conference. But she was asked about what she went through that year and THAT is what she was crying about. Not losing. The death threats, people using AI to generate sexually explicit pictures about her is not what she signed up for. It would elicit emotion in most people. But who cares about the truth when you can create your own and get people to react to that. Again she was asked she didn’t just get up there and start whining about it.

CC’s antics last year weren’t directed at any individual directly. Whereas AR’s antics were directly in CC’s face (classless). She’s the bully who is fine while she’s in charge, when finally put in her place she can handle it. Hopefully AR learned some humility in all of this!

In all fairness scrutiny and critiquing comes with sport! But we are talking about kids here! Non-professionals. These athletes are still groing a finding their way. As adults, we gotta do a better job at setting examples; regardless their talents and accomplishments. She'll be fine, she's accomplished a lot for her age. And I believe she'll learn from these experiences and be better from it!

Nah Stephen A. You can’t say where was everyone then, when Catlin loss. Catlin didn’t cry or play the victim when she did lose. She took the L and moved on. Now of course when folks get personal with death threats and unnecessary messages, thats totally uncalled for no excuses. But Angel Reese put her own bulls eye on her back.

When Iowa lost the championship last year, I didn't see all the comments saying that Caitlin should have "humbled herself". In fact, there was an outcry against Reese's trash talk towards her. A lot of people forget that Caitlin talks just as much trash as any other athlete. These two young ladies have a mutual respect for each other off the court, and fans should have respect for what they have done for women's basketball. I love them both and am very proud of them!

Caitlin Clark didn't need to cry, she's a young white woman. America cried for her. Literally, the First Lady of the United States cried for her and said "they are all winners, Caitlin should come to the white house too" And nothing gets America more enraged than white woman's tears. So that's why the LA Times called the game "Good VS. Evil", and that's why she got death threats. Caitlin won now. So perhaps they will stop. And I'm sure Jill Biden won't be inviting LSU to the White House this year.

I am from Iowa and a big fan. I have followed LSU since last year and love all of the ladies and the coach. Think how far LSU has come this year -- they have overachieved. Angel Reese plays as hard as any player I have ever seen -- she is not gifted like Flau'jae and Williams. Think where Angel Reese came from and how far she has come. Bless her and her family. Not a doubt that Angel Reese is one of the best teammates ever in sports. Some of these haters are failures themselves. Leave Angel Reese alone. Esp. you black brothers. Angel has played with trash talking guys since she was 7-8 years old -- what the hell do you expect from her? She had a couple of million in cash thrown her way -- what do you espect the young lady to do? Do you know that Angel Reese gave nice gifts to the LSU men's team? Write the good stuff. Iowa had to play a great game to beat LSU -- they had four mediocre games n a row and if that had continued they would have lost. Coaching: No way in hell HVL can guard CC --no way, but FJJ would have fouled out and that wold have been death to LSU. Mulkey knows, but she cannot speak the truth at this time. At the post game pressor -- Mulkey said, "No comment." She said it all by saying nothing. Sometimes it is best just to SHUT UP and the haters need to do that. Angel Reese was hobbled in the game - but no excuses from her. Flau'Jae is a hoot and a gifted young lady. Williams will be great, but not yet. She thinks every shot is going down - NOT. Some of the Iowa strategy was to run the legs off LSU ----------- guess what? They did just that. Iowa had a plan that worked and that does not always happen. Remember Iowa had just had four [4] mediocre games in a row. LSU had a short bench -- Give Iowa credit -- they played a great game. Most everybody is pissed when they lose and most say things they regret later. Give it up --- leave the LSU ladies alone. They got beat - pure and simple. Proud to be from Iowa. JJobe

I don't watch much women's hoops, but from watching the highlights Floujaye Johnson looked like the 2nd best player on the court next to Clark. I was really impressed with her.

She’s good. She got a ring and a bag. She’s moving on. I wish her nothing but the best. This years tourney has been the best I’ve ever seen. I thank her and hope she is living her best life.

Dillon Brooks did the exact same thing playing the villain until he decided to be the victim, and everyone on tv and youtube pointed that out, but I guess since we are striving for "equality" when the same situation occurs it calls for different result...

Our girls HS basketball team had a few players after we received our new home and away uniforms, wanted to take a pair of scissors to cut their uniform shorts with one side shorter than the other. Also, they wanted to twist their jersey shoulder straps. They had already done this with their practice uniforms. Fortunately, the coach put a stop to doing this to their game day uniforms. It's amazing how Angel's raggedy uniform "style" has become so infectious since Angel's taunting of Caitlin Clark multiple times towards the end of the 2023 national championship game.

She did NOT name herself or take pride in being a villain. She accepted it because that's how people labeled her. That quote was like a week ago from her that's no time to even embrace it. Why are so many people so off with this thing?
