I grew up with an alcoholic father who beat my Mom so badly one night he knocked out her teeth. My brother and I became immune to the police visits after a while. I used to pray for adoption. We could not have a normal life with friends, family, etc. So many secrets. No prom, no sleep overs at the house, no friends could visit. My Mom stayed...she was poor and unskilled. When my father finally died in his 60s of pancreatic cancer...well, I didn't much care. Both my brother and I are emotionally damaged. My brother is now a homeless alcoholic who never married no kids. I am in recovery of alcoholism and eating disorders 15 years. I now work as an RN for last 15 years. I never married nor had children either. The PTSD is deep and profound. These men destroy lives.

My mother's ex boyfriend used to hit my mother. Once his teenage daughter found out, his daughter never spoke to him again. Edit: It's still an unhappy ending, because this man's daughter felt so ashamed of her father that she never spoke to me or any of our mutual friends again either.

As a survivor of domestic violence, there's no excuse for what he did to that woman. He only apologized because the tape is now public, AND before that, he had to nerve to deny that anything ever happened all these years. I hope that Diddy is over and done!

When he dragged Cassie down the hall like a rag doll and seeing how helpless and defeated she was, it broke my heart😢. Cassie was brave to leave the hotel room that day, but she just could not escape his abuse for years. Praying for continued healing for Cassie.

I waited until he went to take a shower after beating me up and I tiptoed out the house. I went to the bus stop but a block down from where I usually went. The bus was a block away and I saw him coming down the street and panicked. He told me don't get on that bus. People were getting on and I didn't move then the bus was about to pull off I ran to it and was banging on the door. Thank God the driver opened the door and I got on. I was safe and on my way home. There were many other times as well but videos like this or seeing it happen in front of me triggers me and I always step in and try to help the woman or have some words with the so called man. Last year on my birthday a woman was screaming help me and stop across the hall from me and I stepped in. She was naked on the floor. I told her to come over to my apt. She was bleeding really bad. I called the cops but someone else called first and I heard them in the hall. The girl came out with me and my neighbors were asking me if I was alright. I said yes then started crying because it upset me alot. I instantly thought back to all the butt kickings I endured and the memories and emotional turmoil was so overwhelming. Nobody should have to put up with that regardless of the situation or what you've said or done to "provoke" him

It’s about survival. You know you can’t win the fight. Out of all the things in my life, getting kicked like that on the ground by someone that insisted that they loved me was one of the hardest to deal with emotionally. One thing is for someone to hit you - You can rationalize or be gaslit to think you deserved it. But, it’s another for them to literally kick you like you’re garbage when you’re down. This was so hard to watch I hope she has had therapy for this outrageous abuse. He beat her like a dog he needs to be held accountable regardless of the expired limitations. Ray Rice incident was also bad but she went forward and married him anyway. When women try to leave this is why they don't.
